  • Static member class - declare class private and class member package-private?

    Consider you have the following class public class OuterClass { ... private static class InnerClass { int foo; int bar; } } I think I've read somewhere (but not the official Java Tutorial) that if I would declare the static member classes attributes private, the compiler had to generate some sort of accessor methods so that the outer class can actually access the static member class's (which is effectively a package-private top level class) attributes. Any ideas on that?

    Is there any pitfalls when using char*'s to write cross platform code that does memory access? I'm working on a play memory allocator to better understand how to debug memmory issues. I have come to believe char*'s are preferable because of the ability to do pointer arithmetic and derefernce them over void*'s, is that true? Do the following assumptions always hold true on different common platforms? sizeof(char) == 1 sizeof(char*) == sizeof(void*) sizeof(char*) == sizeof(size_t)

    I've created a class that calls an object in the "__construct" how can i make this object available through out the class. class SocialMedia { function __construct() { $object = "whatever"; } } how can I access $object in the other funtions (which are static) from with in the class. I've tried to use "$this-object" but I get an error "$this when not in object context" when I try to call it from my other static functions.

I'd like to ask the question "have I checked in changes in my local repo since my last hg push?" without having to access the remote repo. I have read after installation the libs gets extracted to /data/data/application_package/lib How can I get the exact path to this directory in my application at run time? Is this directory readable by the application? Or is only executeable access allowed? If it is readable - Is this still true for copy protected applications?
