• Automatic picture size adjustment

  Does anyone know of a free utility that allows you to paste into it a graphics file (any type would work for me, jpg, bmp, png, etc) and it will size the file to within a preset size boundary? For instance, if I preset it to resize files to be a maximum of 400 wide by 300 tall, and I paste in a file 500x500, it would shrink the file to fit within the 300 tall limit. Thanks.

• Windows 7 explorer doesn't use details view in folders with media

  I use details as my default folder view, which works fine except for folders that only contain media files like photos or mp3. In these cases the view changes in order to show thumbnails etc. (which I also disabled). How can I prevent this view switch and tell the explorer to stick to details view.

• Thin configuration doesn't start on boot, but they do on manual start [migrated]

  I have some thin config files (generated with sudo thin install) which are slightly modified (only paths where they're located). I can start them just fine with /etc/init.d/thin start, but if the server is restarted, they're not auto started. I issued the update-rc.d thin defaults command to make it run on startup, but no luck yet. This server is running Ubuntu 12.04.1 32-bit, Ruby 1.9.3p194, MongoDB 2.2.0.
