• Change drive letter of DVD drive

  I am trying to use a Drive Maps GPO on Server 2012 - User Configuration - Preferences - Windows Settings - Drive Maps. Problem is I want to map a drive to D: but this is automatically assigned to the DVD drive. Question is can I prevent D: being used as the next drive letter when Windows 8 boots up? I seem to recall in early version of Windows, or maybe it was Novell, a first_drive environment variable for this purpose.

• Why can't I access one specific website?

  I can browse all websites except codinghorror.com in any of my browsers (IE, Firefox & Chrome), but that site is not down. Chrome gives this error msg: Error 109 (net::ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE): Unknown error There's absolutely no problem with internet connectivity. I also enabled TCP/IP version-6 but the site just doesn't open. What could be the problem?

  XP is my host. Ubuntu is my Guest in VMware. When I do the following commands, I should get SMTP respones but now get no response. I use wireshark to analayze it.   I've upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 (64bit) and I found that the very convenient Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall will not work on this version. I hear the Windows 7 firewall is good enough(even though it never prompts for outbound connections) but Kerio had a nice network monitor feature which showed all applications with inbound and outbound connections and the current speed and bytes transferred for each one. Is there any software out there that can give me similar monitoring as what Kerio does? TCPView is almost as good, but doesnt show transfer statistics.

  This has been bugging me on Windows 7 as well, and much to my chagrin Microsoft didn't bother addressing that issue in Windows 8.   I'm trying to speed up my PC, and I figured out that a full version of SQL Management Studio 2012 is installed including localhost server. I only need to connect to remote hosts, so running a local server by default should be disabled. Is there an easy way to disable certain parts so I can speed up my PC and booting time?   On a old machine (512 MB RAM) I am currently running ubuntu jaunty and firefox 3.0.15. I tried the ad blocker addon add block plus but it eats lots of RAM (300 MB). Is high memory load of this add-on a bug, which is fixed in a newer version or just normal? If so, why is the memory usage so high? Is there another ad blocker add-on for firefox or another browser- add-on combination for linux (ubuntu jaunty) which uses significant less RAM?

  I'm trying to install a newer version of libevent than is on my machine, so I can install memcached. However, the install for memcached complains that the libevent library isn't in /usr/lib64 and that it isn't 64bit. What options do I need to pass to ./configure to get it to compile as 64bit and/or into the /usr/lib64 directory?   I have been told that mysql 5.5 has a significant performance boost compared to 5.0 Our server handles a lot of data (around 30 million records processed per 5-10 seconds) and requires every drop of performance boost we can give. Will it be beneficial if we upgrade from 5.0.23 to mysql 5.5? Also, we have lots of database indexes setup on the tables and I've been told that sometimes the indexes become corrupt after a version upgrade and they have to be rebuilt. Is this true?

The question is how do I bring up all the Apps in farm via TCP/IP. The Citrix online plugin does not allow the same access as Program Neighborhood did to farms. Please help.

What I'm looking for is just the right to left thing, without all the Arabic support. Is there any out there? Basically, typing typing "HELLO" should yield "OLLEH" exactly. Individual characters should not be reversed.
