Retrospect is a backup system that my organization uses, but I can not find support for my Ubuntu 10.04 64bit desktop.
What I have tried (but did not work)
download the Redhat version and attempt to convert to deb
wget http://download.dantz.com/archives/Linux_Client-7_6_100.rpm
sudo alien Linux_Client-7_6_100.rpm
The Restrospect user forum has this thread, which provides an i386 .deb file for installing Retrospect
Question
Is there a way to install this on my system?
I'm trying to install Wordpress in my Rails /public folder. I get the following error message:
'Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.'
PHP Version 5.2.4-2ubuntu5 is running.
I assume I need to alter the php.ini file, but I don't know how, or with what.
Any help appreciated.
Running the latest version of VirtualBox on OSX and hosting a Windows virtual machine. Is there a way to put shortcuts on your Mac desktop for the Windows apps that you run in seamless mode?
I can't find a way to do this, so every time I want to newly launch a Windows app in seamless mode I have to access the full Windows desktop, start the app and hit HostKey+L. Really a pain for apps that you want to run in seamless mode all time.
hI,
I am trying to install the terminal multiplexer tmux on my Debian Lenny server so that I can have multiple terminals through ssh.
However I have had a lot of difficulty installing it from the debian package, and by compiling it. When I try the package it says something about the wrong version of libc6, and when I compile it I get the following error:
server.o: In function `server_start':
server.c:(.text+0x273): undefined reference to `event_reinit'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [tmux] Error 1
Help would be very much appreciated,
RayQuang
Just for curiosity. An example machine: an dedicated amd64 server with the last stable version of FreeBSD and UFS for the partitions.
How much resources consume FreeBSD for each empty jail? I mean, I don't want know what is the resource consumption of a jailed server or whatever, just the overhead of each jail.
I'm especially interested on CPU, memory and IO. For a few jails the overhead is negligible but imagine a server with 100 jails.
Since version 4.0b7pre, there is no more statusbar in Firefox, which has been replaced by the new add-ons bar.
The main problem is that a lot of users like me are missing some valuable information that was displayed in the statusbar on previous versions. For instance, when hovering a link the url is now displayed in the address bar and you can't see the entire address. Other information like which servers are being contacted when you load a page are no longer displayed.

I'm using the official windows version of nginx. I want to specify the windows equivalent of this configuration
location /static/ {
alias /home/user/staticfiles/;
}
How do I specify windows file paths in the alias directive? Is this even possible?
Hi
Performing a discovery at customer site and although systems do get discovered, I get a lot (100000+) of these errors in the log:

Any tips?

One of our in-house applications has a SQLCLR assembly which is currently experiencing problems. The developer is having problems recreating the issue using the version that is stored in our source control system, so he suspects that some code may have been released that was not uploaded to source control. Is there a way to extract a SQLCLR assembly into a .dll file so that he can reverse engineer it for analysis?
I know of whoami.exe. Is there a version called whereami.exe
The output should be able to tell me if I am on a LAN, wireless or VPN.
the machines would be running Windows Xp or better.
I looked at all the other posts on this but can't find the directories mentioned (~/.config/google-chrome/Default/Bookmarks, it's a JSON file.). Being a 2 day Newbie to Ubuntu/Linux I would like to know if the location has changed in the latest version or if not how I locate the directory indicated. I have logged in as root and searched for the folder and can't find it although I imported my bookmarks from a html file so I know that they must be saved somewhere.
The idea is to use Vista RFM as a freeware version of Windows to allow Mac users running a Windows-based application via VirtualBox.
Is there a way to make that possible (starting the program automatically in RFM)?
Thanks!
I have a quad socket octo-core system running FreeBSD. Currently, I need to turn off HyperThreading to get it to boot, as FreeBSD only supports 32 CPUs. There were some patches made awhile ago against a trunk version of 8.1, but even after modifying them slightly to work and compile with 8.1-RELEASE, the machine wouldn't boot.
Has there been any progress here? I can't find much good information about it, Google thinks I'm talking about 64-bit architecture and not literally 64 CPUs.
I want to use the following line:
#IfWinActive, Opera
But it doesn't work with the newest version of Opera. I don't think that it has a window name. So how can I get it to work with Opera?
Hi,
I did an update of my Ubuntu to version 10.04 lts.
Everything was ok until final reboot.
When I boot I now have the following message:
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS laptop tty1
laptop login: [ 29.828287] hci_cmd_task: hc10 commnd tx timeout
What can I do?
Thanks
Several days ago Google Chrome stoped working after an update.
If I start it in the terminal I can see the following output:
[6:6:4528137750:FATAL:sandbox_init_linux.cc(378)] prctl(PR_SET_NO_NEW_PRIVS) failed: Invalid argument
Any idea how to solve this?
Chrome version: 20.0.1132.47
Ubuntu: 12.04 x64
Kernel: 3.2.0-21-generic #34-Ubuntu
EDIT:
It is possible to start chrome with --no-sandbox switch.
When I build a program from source (CentOS), How do I go about updating it to a new version? Can I just run the make && make install again with the same configure options?
Alright, so I need the soap extension enabled in php. When I run phpinfo(), it's not there, so I'm guessing I have to recompile?
I can follow tutorials online to recompile the most recent php version for centos, but will it generally just work after that? Or does apache need to know to use the new installation?
Thanks for any direction you can give me.
Hi all,
I have a 64 bit windows 7 install (thru bootcamp) on my 17" macbook pro, with the bootcamp 3.0 drivers. Whenever i run the apple software update to install the 3.1 drivers, it downloads and installs them, then reboots, and when i've rebooted, it's still stuck on version 3.0 according to 'about boot camp' on the system tray icon. I've tried installing several times, it keeps happening.
Any ideas?
Thanks
On my windows XP machine when I try to install the DirectX SDK the setup freezes on the first screen.
When I click on the "next" button the system does some processing and stays on the same window. Clicking again on the next button does nothing.
The directX SDK log only contains a single entry for each try:
12/01/09 09:49:03: DXSDKSetup: CLR version number = 2.0.50727
any ideas?
Thank you!
