  • Displaying multidimensional data in WPF

    - by KrisTrip
    What is the best way to display multidimensional data in WPF? I want to use databinding and I won't know the size/shape of the data until runtime. I was thinking some sort of grid but I don't know how to dynamically bind to the data and have it figure out the number of rows and columns. Suggestions and examples please?

  • GridView Style based on bound data.

    - by Matthew Jones
    I would like the rows of my GridView to have strikethrough based on a bound data value called IsObsolete. I tried to do this: <RowStyle BackColor="#EFF3FB" Font-Strikeout='<%# Bind('IsObsolete') %>' /> But obviously this doesn't parse. I'd rather not do this in GridView.DataBound(). Any other ideas?

  • MacRuby + Interface Builder: How to display, then close, then display a window again

    - by Derick Bailey
    I'm a complete n00b with MacRuby and Cocoa, though I've got more than a year of Ruby experience, so keep that in mind when answering - I need lots of details and explanation. :) I've set up a simple project that has 2 windows in it, both of which are built with Interface Builder. The first window is a simple list of accounts using a table view. It has a "+" button below the table. When I click the + button, I want to show an "Add New Account" window. I also have an AccountsController < NSWindowController and a AddNewAccountController class, set up as the delegates for these windows, with the appropriate button click methods wired up, and outlets to reference the needed windows. When I click the "+" button in the Accounts window, I have this code fire: @add_account.center @add_account.display @add_account.makeKeyAndOrderFront(nil) @add_account.orderFrontRegardless this works great the first time I click the + button. Everything shows up, I'm able to enter my data and have it bind to my model. however, when I close the add new account form, things start going bad. if I set the add new account window to release on close, then the second time I click the + button, the window will still pop up but it's frozen. i can't click any buttons, enter any data, or even close the form. i assume this is because the form's code has been released, so there is no message loop processing the form... but i'm not entirely sure about this. if i set the add new account window to not release on close, then the second time i click the + button, the window shows up fine and it is usable - but it still has all the data that i had previously entered... it's still bound to my previous Account class instance. what am I doing wrong? what's the correct way to create a new instance of the Add New Account form, create a new Account model, bind that model to the form and show the form, when I click the + button on the Accounts form? ... this is all being done on OSX 10.6.6, 64bit, with XCode 3.2.4

  • Can I use the AJAX Autocomplete extender *without* a webservice?

    - by David
    Using ASP.NET 3.5 with VB codebehind. I don't want to use a webservice to populate an autocomplete extender on a textbox. In this case, it's where the user is entering email addresses and I don't want to make a trip to the database every single time. I'd much rather keep a collection in session state and 'bind' the autocomplete to that. Is it possible to set ServicePath and/or ServiceMethod to something in the codebehind as opposed to a webservice?

  • ChildControl of a childcontrol is null when calling from Main control

    - by Jan Schoenrock
    Hello I built a webusercontrol in asp.net which contains a databound dropdown. When I directly put this control into a webform it runs well. But if I try to add this control as childcontrol to another control at runtime Childcontrol childcontrol = new Childcontrol (); maincontrol.controls.add(childcontrol) , the dropdown of the childcontrol is not instatiated (is null) so that I run in an exception by trying to bind the data to the dropdown.

  • EADDRNOTAVAIL when binding 127.0.0.1 on localhost?

    - by Jonas Byström
    I'm getting errno==49 (EADDRNOTAVAIL) when trying to UDP-bind() to 127.0.0.1:47346 running Mac OS X on a G5 (big endian PowerPC). Is there something preventing me from doing so? I've tried other addresses and ports (192.168.1.2 and port 47346) but with no success. Here's a gdb printout of my sockaddr_in: $1 = { sin_len = 0 '\0', sin_family = 2 '\002', sin_port = 47346, sin_addr = { s_addr = 3232235778 }, sin_zero = "???\000\000??" }

  • C# Detect Localhost Port Usage

    - by ThaKidd
    In advance, thank you for your advice. I am currently working on a program which uses Putty to create a SSH connection with a server that uses local port forwarding to enable a client, running my software, to access the service behind the SSH server via localhost. IE: client:20100 - Internet - Remote SSH server exposed via router/firewall - Local Intranet - Intranet Web POP3 Server:110. Cmd Line: "putty -ssh -2 -P 22 -C -L 20100:intranteIP:110 -pw sshpassword sshusername@sshserver" Client would use putty to create a SSH connection with the SSH server specifying in the connection string that it would like to tie port 110 of the Intranet POP3 Server to port 20100 on the client system. Therefore the client would be able to open up a mail client to localhost:20100 and interact with the Internal POP3 server over the SSH tunnel. The above is a general description. I already know what I am trying to do will work without a problem so am not looking for debate on the above. The question is this...How can I ensure the local port (I cannot use dynamic ports, so it must be static) on localhost is not being used or listened to by any other application? I am currently executing this code in my C# app: private bool checkPort(int port) { try { //Create a socket on the current IPv4 address Socket TestSocket = new Socket(AddressFamily.InterNetwork, SocketType.Stream, ProtocolType.Tcp); // Create an IP end point IPEndPoint localIP = new IPEndPoint(IPAddress.Parse("127.0.0.1"), port); // Bind that port TestSocket.Bind(localIP); // Cleanup TestSocket.Close(); return false; } catch (Exception e) { // Exception occurred. Port is already bound. return true; } } I am currently calling this function starting with a specific port in a for loop to get the 'false' return at the first available port. The first port I try is actually being listened to by uTorrent. The above code does not catch this and my connection fails. What is the best method to ensure a port is truly free? I do understand some other program may grab the port during/after I have tested it. I just need to find something that will ensure it is not currently in use AT ALL when the test is executed. If there is a way to truly reserve the localhost port during the test, I would love to hear about it.

  • How to edit and display Date in ASP.Net MVC 2

    - by Picflight
    I am storing a date in my database and want the user to be able to edit this date in the Edit View. In the past with ASP.Net web forms I have used 3 dropdownlists for the Month, Day and Year to get the date from the user and to bind it on display. I want to do the same in ASP.Net MVC and not sure how to do it? I am not using any jQuery or Javascript, the design calls for simple postback.

  • clearTimeout not working in javascript autocomplete script

    - by Travis
    I am using the following code as part of an autocomplete script to avoid hammering the server with every keystroke: var that = this; textInput.bind("keyup", function() { clearTimeout(that.timer); that.timer = setTimeout (that.doStuff(), 2000); }); Unfortunately, this does not clear the old timers. They still all execute. Does anyone know what I'm missing? Thanks!

Window.xaml <Window x:Class="Exec.App" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Main window" Height="446" Width="475" > <Grid> <ListView Name="ListViewPersonDetails" Margin="15,12,29,196" ItemsSource="{Binding Persons}" SelectedItem="{Binding CurrentSelectedPerson}"> <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Header="FirstName" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding FstNamePerson}"/> <GridViewColumn Header="LastName" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding SndNamePerson}"/> <GridViewColumn Header="Address" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding AdressPerson}"/> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView> <TextBlock Height="23" Name="textFirstNameBlock" FontSize="12" Margin="97,240,155,144"> <Run Text="Name: " /> <Run Text="{Binding CurrentSelectedPerson.FstNamePerson}" FontWeight="Bold" /> </TextBlock> <TextBlock Height="23" Name="textLastNameBlock" FontSize="12" Margin="97,263,155,121"> <Run Text="Branch: " /> <Run Text="{Binding CurrentSelectedPerson.SndNamePerson}" FontWeight="Bold" /> </TextBlock> <TextBlock Height="23" Name="textAddressBlock" FontSize="12" Margin="0,281,155,103" HorizontalAlignment="Right" Width="138"> <Run Text="City: " /> <Run Text="{Binding CurrentSelectedPerson.AdressPerson}" FontWeight="Bold" /> </TextBlock> </Grid> </Window> MainWindow.xaml.cs Tman manager = new Tman(); private List<Person> persons; public List<Person> Persons { get { return this.persons; } set { if (value != null) { this.persons = value; this.NotifyPropertyChanged("Data"); } } } private Person currentSelectedPerson; public Person CurrentSelectedPerson { get { return currentSelectedPerson; } set { this.currentSelectedPerson = value; this.NotifyPropertyChanged("CurrentSelectedItem"); } } public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged; private void NotifyPropertyChanged(string propertyName) { var handler = this.PropertyChanged; if (handler != null) { handler(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName)); } } private void Window_Loaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e){ ListViewPersonDetails.ItemsSource= manager.GetPersons(); } Person.cs class Person { public string FirstName { get; set; } public string LastName { get; set; } public string Address { get; set; } } Thanks for any help.

  • Entity Framework + stored procedure with paging

    - by Eatdoku
    I am using Entity Framework now and using a stored procedure to populate my entity. Where there is no problem with populating my entity, but when i trying to bind the result to a gridview control with "Enable Paging" set to true, it gives an error saying "The data source does not support server-side data paging." I am using stored procedure because one of the table column is FullTextIndexed, and there is a requirement to be able to search on that field. Can anyone tell me how the paging would work in this situation?

  • Using the standard Flash AS3 scrollbar class

    - by WebDevHobo
    Flash has a scrollbar class, documented here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AS3LCR/Flash_10.0/fl/controls/ScrollBar.html However, besides listing functions and variables, there's no real explanation of how to hook an instance of this class to a textfield. Everything I've tried either ends up in errors or the scrollbar not showing. The documentation lacks a clear way of how you should bind the textfield and the scrollbar toghether, and CS4 isn't providing any help either. Can someone explain, or link to an example of how scrollbars work with textfield?
