  • Features to remove from C++

    This question was inspired by What features would you like to see added to C++? (also see What features do you miss in C++?). C++ is a great general-purpose language, but perhaps too general and feature-rich: multiple inheritance, operator overloading, manual memory management, templates, smart pointers, virtual destructors, legacy frameworks (think MFC), and I could go on. Is there any one feature or aspect of C++ that you would like removed to make our lives easier as C++ developers? One feature per answer, please.

I've gotten helpful responses, which have propelled me further along, but I'm still lost. I need to use OAuth because (as I read it) using username and password is going to be deprecated soon. I need an example as simple as updating the status with the string constant 'Hello World!'. My client is specifying that I must use C#.

    So what I am trying to do is make an application (just for fun, not a lot of purpose), where when you launch it a interface comes up consisting of Username: textboxhere Password: textbox2here then a connect button, and when you fill out your information in the textboxs' then click Connect, it navigates to facebook.com and puts in your information that you defined in the textbox and logs you in. Any ideas guys?

I see from https://developers.google.com/drive/v1/reference/files#resource that there are 4 operations. If there are no list and search capabilities then the onus is on the app to handle the management. Is there another API I should be using? Are those features in the works?

    For power management we have to put system in deep sleep(system sleep) mode and for this we have to put SDRAM in self refresh mode. Can anyone tell the steps to set SDARM in self refresh mode. I tried SDRAM configuration register's ,I found that the SDRAM do goes to self-refresh mode[we probed the SD clk out] however system crashes in some scenarios while coming out of sleep.

    Hello guys, I've installed MAMP on my MacBook PRO Leopard OS. Phpmyadmin is working fine but I would like to use the terminal or bash to practice MySQL. I seem to have a problem with it. When I say: "mysql -h localhost -u root -p" / "mysql -h localhost -u root", it gives the following error. ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES/NO) Please suggest any solutions possible! Thanx in advance. :)

  • How to log SQL output to text file on client from C#

    I have a large auditing stored procedure that prints values and runs some SELECT statements. When running within SQL Management Studio we have the use select to display "Results to Text" so all of the SQL results and print statement display in one place. Now I need to have some C# code also call this auditing procedure at the end of the process and basically store all data that would be in the "Results to Text" window into a .txt file. How can this be done?

    Hello, when we connect a machine to AD, user will be able to log into the machine with their AD user-name and password, at home they can do that ( when they are not on the work network) which fine and good we need to have a program Auto-start when the user login BUT only when they are at work and in our network! how can I achieve that?
