• Present a default window layout on startup in Windows 7

  Hello, I have a Win7 PC in use as part of an experiment control system. The experiment in question uses 4 windows simultaneously, and I would like to find away to open, position and size these 4 windows with a script. The script would run at start up, so that the newly booted PC presents the user with the four windows as default. Obviously I can use a batch file in the startup folder to open windows and run applications, but is there a way to specify the layout of these windows? Many thanks Si

  I have a post-build script after building my c# project that will place one of the dll files in a specific directory. This dll is saved in SVN. My question is, is there a way that when building my project, it knows that this dll has not changed and would know not to be copied over to the directory so the there will not be a modified copy for the SVN?

You can't do a decorate design pattern if: 1) The object is marked "sealed" meaning you can't extend from it. 2) or you want to override a method but its not virtual. What can you do then? Taken that you can't change the class source code if you don't have the source code (like a 3rd party library).

• Is flash's geturl(...) spiderable by google?

  If I made a homepage with an embedded .swf which had buttons that linked to other html pages on my website using the getUrl() function, would those links be spiderable by google? Or should I also put in text links outside of the .swf (which would ruin the design a bit)? I know a lot of people will argue I shouldn't have flash as the main content on the homepage (and their comments are appreciated), but bear in mind, that's not my question.

  This might be a dumb question, but I don't get it: I have a class called Card. I want to do a shallow clone using MemberWiseClone(). In Theory Card inherits from Object. So it should be able to use MemberWiseClone(), even if MWC() is protected ?? Am I missing/forgetting something?

  In an app I'm profiling, I found that in some scenarios this function is able to take over 10% of total execution time. MSVC++ 2008 compiler is being used, for reference... I don't recall if modf maps to a single instruction or if there is likely any way to make it faster. see also here for similar question on sqrt function

I know there are several ways to do this, but I am looking for the most efficient way possible.   I'm setting up a directory application for which I need to have two separate interfaces for the same Users table. Basically, administrators use the Users controller and views to list, edit, and add users, while non-admins need a separate interface which lists users in a completely different manner. To do this, would I be able to just set up another controller with different views but which accesses the Users model? Sorry if this is a simple question, but I've had a hard time finding how to do this.
