Server 2008 SMTP service error

When i right click on SMTP (in IIS 6.0) and click start i get the following error "The service has returned a service-specific error code. Check the windows event viewer for details"

When i look at the event viewer i get this message... "The service could not bind instance 1. The data is the error code."
