Recently, I had blogged about enabling the UCM content cache invalidator for Spaces (found here). This can also be enabled for a WebCenter Custom Portal application as well. The much overlooked setting is done through the Content Repository connection definition in the JDeveloper Application Resources section.

Enabling the cache invalidator "sweeper" can be invaluable, where UCM content is being updated from within UCM (console) and not within the portal.
