  • .NET client getting "not well formed" XML response from Axis web service

    I have a simple .NET app that makes a SOAP call to a third party Axis web service. When I trace the HTTP traffic, I see that the Request looks fine, however I'm getting an exception: "Response is not well-formed XML." The return object is null, as it seems the XML can't be deserialized. One question regarding the various namespace declarations inside the wsdl. Several of these declarations point to URLs / domains that no longer exist. Could this cause any problems?     So i am testing a couple of API, and after sorting a couple of them, i am undecided between zemanta and opencalais. A can use both perfectly at home, but at the company behind the proxy, i can put them working, even when running the same examples.   • Personalization in ASP.Net MVC -- friendly URLs, and skinning

    Hi everyone, I haven't delved into custom generation of friendly URLs in ASP.Net MVC, and was wondering if anyone had suggestions. For example, if John Smith were to create an account on www.example.com, I'd like for his homepage to read www.example.com/JohnSmith -- along with the option for him to choose his URL. The ideal is for this to happen with no intervention on my part in the route maps. Also, does anyone have guidelines on good ways to go to customize an MVC site based on URL? Again, using example.com I'd like for John to choose a color theme and logo for his homepage, then apply it accordingly. Thanks for your tips and suggestions.

  • .gitignore not working for me

    Hi, I'm trying to create a new git repository from existing folder. I've created a .gitignore file in the root of the folder. But if I say 'git add *' 'git commit' 'git push' files that should be ignored still get commited to the remote repository. I'm on Windows. Also I've bought a license for SmartGIT. It also seems to ignore .gitignore. I have to manually select which new files to commit. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi, I'm trying to print arguments passed to a ./configure script. Calling 'echo' on $BASH_ARGV will just print the last set of arguments. For example if I run: ./configure --enable-foo --enable-bar echo $BASH_ARGV will print only "--enable-bar" How do I print all the arguments? Thanks!

  • WatiN wait for java script execution completed before click link (IE)

    i have this page displaying statement every 2 second (using javascript), at the end of it there is a link which the user can click. with IE it will click the link before javascript generated statement is completed. when i use Link.Click() (with Firefox it will throw exception, which is fine with me) is there a way to wait for javascript execution to complete before link gets clicked (IE)?   • What is your experience with Nitrogen on Erlang?

    I've been checking out the Nitrogen Project which is supposed to be the most mature web development framework for Erlang. Erlang, as a language, is extremely impressive. However, with regards to Nitrogen, what I am not too keen about is using Erlang's rather uncommon syntax (unless you're native in PROLOG) to build UIs. What is your experience with it as opposed to other mainstream web frameworks such as Django or Rails?

  • Possible to use SaveVideoAtPathToSavedPhotosAlbum and still maintain 3.0 backward compatibility?

    The function SaveVideoAtPathToSavedPhotosAlbum is only available with the iPhone SDK 3.1 or above but we want to maintain backward compatibility with 3.0 devices. How can this be done? At first we though we can do a runtime check, but it turns out that this can't even compile against the 3.0 SDK. We are getting the error "_UISaveVideoAtPathToSavedPhotosAlbum", referenced from: -[MovieViewController saveButtonPressed:] in MovieViewController.o ld: symbol(s) not found

  • dynamic page caching- show redirected html cache page or show the dynamic page?

    would like your comments. Eg: When user first visit www.testing.com/productdetailpage.asp I will use caching- store the whole page into productdetailpage.html When the user go to reopen productdetailpage.asp, user will be redirected to www.testing.com/productdetailpage.html It means they will see productdetailpage.html, not .asp Is this a good way? Any implication in terms of SEO and other part? Will it be better to read datas from .html into .asp and show the final page as .asp all the time?

  • Is it poor design to create objects that only execute code during the constructor?

    In my design I am using objects that evaluate a data record. The constructor is called with the data record and type of evaluation as parameters and then the constructor calls all of the object's code necessary to evaluate the record. This includes using the type of evaluation to find additional parameter-like data in a text file. There are in the neighborhood of 250 unique evaluation types that use the same or similar code and unique parameters coming from the text file. Some of these evaluations use different code so I benefit a lot from this model because I can use inheritance and polymorphism. Once the object is created there isn't any need to execute additional code on the object (at least for now) and it is used more like a struct; its kept on a list and 3 properties are used later. I think this design is the easiest to understand, code, and read. A logical alternative I guess would be using functions that return score structs, but you can't inherit from methods so it would make it kind of sloppy imo. I am using vb.net and these classes will be used in an asp.net web app as well as in a distributed app. thanks for your input

  • How to keep asm output from Linux kernel module build

    I'm working on a Linux kernel module for a 2.6.x kernel and I need to view the assembly output, though it's currently being done as a temporary file an deleted afterwords. I'd like to have the assembly output mixed with my C source file so I can easily trace where my problem lies. This is for an ARMv6 core and apparently objdump doesn't support this architecture. I've included my makefile below.     I've got a string like this: #################### Section One #################### Data A Data B #################### Section Two #################### Data C Data D etc. I want to parse it into something like: $arr( 'Section One' => array('Data A', 'Data B'), 'Section Two' => array('Data C', 'Data D') ) At first I tried this: $sections = preg_split("/(\r?\n)(\r?\n)#/", $file_content); The problem is, the file isn't perfectly clean: sometimes there are different numbers of blank lines between the sections, or blank spaces between data rows. The section head pattern itself seems to be relatively consistent: #################### Section Title #################### The number of #'s is probably consistent, but I don't want to count on it. The white space on the title line is pretty random. Once I have it split into sections, I think it'll be pretty straightforward, but any help writing a killer reg ex to get it there would be appreciated. (Or if there's a better approach than reg ex...)

Problem In Java, you can add package level documentation to your project by creating a package-info.java or package.html file and storing in the package folder. How do I add equivalent documentation to my project in C# using Visual Studio 2010? Background I like to write documentation describing my motivations in the package/folder level context of the source code projects that I am working on. I have become very accustomed to this workflow in a variety of languages (specifically Java) and I believe that it is a good way to document my project.
