  • Databinding Textbox to Form.Text (title)

    I'm trying to bind a Textbox.Text to Form.Text (which sets the title of the form). The binding itself works. But, the title isn't updated until I move the entire form. How can I achieve Form.Text being updated without moving the form? I'd like Form.Text being updated directly when I type something in the Textbox. Edit; I set the title of the Form in a TextChanged event which is fired by a ToolStripTextbox: public partial class ProjectForm : Form { public ProjectForm() { // my code contains all sorts of code here, // but nothing that has something to do with the text. } } private void projectName_TextChanged_1(object sender, EventArgs e) { this.Text = projectName.TextBox.Text; } And the Databinding version: public partial class ProjectForm : Form { public ProjectForm() { this.projectName.TextBox.DataBindings.Add("Text", this, "Text", true, DataSourceUpdateMode.OnValidation); } } Edit 2: I see I forgot to mention something.     I wanted to write a Custom Control that would show a family tree... so i looked on FamilyShow.... So their control inherits FrameworkElement but then every thing gets super complex... are there any easy tutorials out there that show how to implement a custom FrameworkElement with children and so on? Basically what i fail to do is this, Add child controls and show them, and when drawing getting the coordinates of the child controls...

  • Using Nuxeo, how do I lock down a page so that it redirects to the login page if the user is unauthe

    I have been put on to a project using Nuxeo, late in it's lifecycle and need to change a few things before it goes live. I am having trouble finding out where I need to look to lock down a Nuxeo based application so that a user is redirected to the login page if they are unauthorised and access a restricted page. Can someone please shoot my some direction on where this sort of logic is kept or defined?

  • codeigniter site, swfobject not fully loading swf

    I am having a strange problem. I have a view that is supposed to load a swf. The swf was compiled with Flex and the mxml preloader displays but it loads a blank screen. When I path directly to the file it loads fully and works fine. Other possibly relevant information: The swf makes calls through GET requests to the database the site is built with codeigniter I'm using swfobject to load the swf you can see it in all it's busted glory here: http://thetoad.flattoads.com:16080/~iopdev/CI/index.php?c=moodtotem&m=index I'm going bonkers over this!

  • How do I stop cropping of a transformed (scaled) image in a grid (silverlight)

    I have a grid with an image in it. Initially, the image is larger than the grid, so it gets cropped which is fine, but if I apply a scaling transform to causing the image to shrink, the portion that was initally cropped remains cropped, but I want it displayed now, because it would fit in the grid. I concidered putting my image in a canvas, but I want it centered vertically and horizontally, which is giving me trouble, so I switched to a grid.

  • Displaying thumbnails of images (present at different locations in the sdcard) in a listview

    Hi all, I have several images present in different folders in my sdcard. I would like to display a list of thumbnails. So what I have done is while rendering any row in the list I read the file in an input stream, get the byte array, decode it to obtain a bitmap and set it in an imageview. So far so good. But when I scroll the list, the list scrolls in jerks. I believe this is because decoding a bitmap from byte array takes some time. What I would like to know is that, is there any optimization which I can do to improve the performance, or better still is there any better method to achieve what I want ?

  • Pyramind of DIVs

    Hi there, I'm trying to build a pyramid that's made of 4 DIVs. The layout looks like this: ------ | #1 | ------ ---------------- | #2 | #3 | #4 | ---------------- Moreover I need 3 additional DIVs starting at the center DIV (#3) and containing either #1, #2 or #3 additionally. These DIVs are used the build a sliding effect with jQueryUI later on. It's supposed to look like #1, #2 and #4 slide out of #3. The margin between the DIVs is supposed to be 2 pixels. I also want the whole block to be centered. Even with display: inline; and position: absolute; enabled on the visible and invisible DIVs I can't get the layout right. I used some negative margins and when it looked ok for the first time I saw that my top DIV was positioned outside of the html body. I suppose there is a more simple and elegant way to achieve what I want.   • Iterate over enum?

    I'm trying to iterate over an enum, and call a method using each of its values as a parameter.   • cpu usage nearly 100 constantly windows xp sp3

    When running some heavy applications like games or virtual box for some time.. the cpu usage is normal for some 15 mins and then suddently cpu usage increases. even after i quit the heavy apps and when i start some other apps, the cpu usage of the new opened application is also very high.. this continues until i reboot the system. There is single particular process occupy more cpu. All the processes cpu usage is little high than normal.. Any solutions?

  • Odd IIS FTP Failure

    We're running a script on our production box that zips up our database and FTPs it to a backup box every night. Our production box is running Redhat Enterprise 5. Our backup box is running Windows XP Pro / IIS 5.1. Both machines are on the same VLAN (not sure if this is imporatant). The backup file usually clocks in at around 3GB. Every now and again (~5% of the time), the backup script fails. The shell script on the "client side" - which looks at return codes - never identifies any problem since ftp always returns 0. On the "server side", IIS writes out a log that looks like this: #Software: Microsoft Internet Information Services 5.1 #Version: 1.0 #Date: 2009-08-08 07:04:25 #Fields: time c-ip cs-method cs-uri-stem sc-status sc-win32-status 07:04:25 192.168.111.235 [15]USER backup 331 0 07:04:25 192.168.111.235 [15]PASS - 230 0 07:05:54 192.168.111.235 [15]created backup_20090808.zip 426 10035 07:06:16 192.168.111.235 [15]QUIT - 426 0 Now, I know that 426 means "Connection closed, transfer aborted", which is sort-of a catch-all for "IIS was not happy". The real puzzler is the wincode: 10035 (WSAEWOULDBLOCK -- Resource temporarily unavailable). My understanding is that this code is normal when using non-blocking socket calls - which would almost certainly be used by any FTP Server implementation. My first guess that it might be a timeout issue doesn't make sense, since we're only talking about a few minutes here and the timeout was left at the default 900 s. Does anybody have any ideas about what is causing this problem, and how it may be fixed? Thanks!

    Hi guys, I've got a Windows 2003 x86 server with a small WSS3.0 installation. Now we've bought a new server with Windows Server 2008 x64 and installed SharePoint Foundation 2010 on it. I wish to transfer the few lists and their view from the old WSS3 to SP2010. How should I do this? All the migration websites I've read talk about preparing, but no-one really say how to migrate from one x86 2007 server to a x64 2010 server. Cheers Nik

    I double-click komodo, but it doesn't run. In the Terminal, I type "echo $PATH", but the Komodo dir isn't there. There too, I type "komodo", but the command isn't found.   • Switching to open folders on a Mac

    How do I easily switch to an open folder on a Mac? In Windows, which I'm used to using, I can see all my opened folders in my vertical taskbar, all I need to do to switch to another window is click on the folder in the task bar. There's no taskbar on a Mac, and when I have a lot of folders opened, ie. lots of Finder windows, how can I switch between them? The way I'm doing it is, I put expose on an active corner and switch that way. However that's still damn hard, because first I have to bring up expose, and then find my window. The folders are placed in a random position between opened apps, the folders are not in a list, and on a big screen I have to scan the whole screen in order to find the one I want... etc. Is it really this hard just to switch to a different folder on a Mac? Is there a taskbar solution on a Mac?

  • emacs error: "Symbol's value as variable is void: hostname"

    After I installed emacs this error occurs every time on startup. It prevents me from installing plugins, e.g. auctex via aptitude. I already tried to install a plugin by hand (rails for ruby), but doesn't work. The error doesn't contain the message "hostname", but the hostname of my PC is displayed ("bloodredangel-ubuntu"). I changed my hostname to "bloodredangel", but the error message stays the same. While I changed my hostname I saw that in /etc/hostname were two entries: 127.0.0.1 bloodredangel-ubuntu I already asked this question in an ubuntu forum but they couldn't help. They recognised an misconfigured /etc/hosts file, which I corrected, but from time to time these incorrect configurations get attached by something. I didn't add them by hand, maybe it has something to do with the issue. The misconfigurations looked like this: 127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1 bloodredangel-ubuntu localhost.localdomain localhost 127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1:8080 bloodredangel-ubuntu localhost.localdomain localhost I didn't found a solution on the internet, so I hope I will find help here finally.

  • Windows host MIA on network

    I've had a machine effectively disappear off my home office network. 192.168.1.100 - Windows 7 laptop (on domain) - problem machine 192.168.1.42 - Windows 2008 server (domain controller) 192.168.1.101 - Windows 7 laptop (guest; not on domain) For some reason I am unable to ping, tracert or remote desktop to 192.168.1.100 from .42 or .101. I can remote between .42 and .101 no problem however. .100 cannot ping nor remote desktop to .42 or .101. Remote Desktop access is enabled on .100. I've opened the firewall rules. I've disabled the firewall domain profile. I've turned the firewall service off entirely. No matter what I do, the .100 host is unreachable by any other host on the network. I'm at my wit's end. Thanks in advance for any debug advice!

  • How do I change the default ftp folder in Mac OS X 10.6?

    I'm running WordPress 2.9.1 from a Mac running 10.6.3. WordPress is installed to the /Library/WebServer/Documents folder. WordPress has a feature called Auto Update. Clicking an auto update button will download and install updated versions of the WordPress software, or third-party plugin tools. It's a convenient way to keep things up to date. WordPress uses FTP to download the files. I've enabled FTP and set up a user account and opened the requisite ports in my firewall for FTP traffic. This doesn't seem to be enough for my self-hosted installation, though. I'm sure this feature was originally designed for someone who has access to a remote shared webserver, and that it's merely a configuration challenge related to the FTP setup. I feel that if I can adjust the initial directory that the FTP service presents to the AutoUpdate feature, everything else will work properly. So, my question is, how do I adjust what folder is presented when a given user connects to a Mac running 10.6.3 via FTP?
