  • A (slight) Change of Focus

    When I started this blog in September 2009 I was working as a BizTalk developer for a financial institution based in the South West of England.  At the time I was developing using BizTalk Server 2004 and intended to use my blog to collate and share any useful information and experiences that I had using this version of BizTalk (and occasionally other technologies) in an effort to bring together as many useful details as I could in one place. Since then my circumstances have changed and I am no longer working in the financial industry using BizTalk 2004.  Instead I have recently started a new post in the logistics industry, in the North of England, as "IT Integration Manager".  The company I now work for has identified a need to boost their middleware/integration platform and have chosen BizTalk Server 2009 as their platform of choice; this is where I come in. To start with my role is to provide the expertise with BizTalk that they currently lack, design and direct the initial BizTalk 2009 implementation and act as lead developer on all pending BizTalk projects.  Following this it is my hope that we will be able to build on the initial BizTalk "proof of concept" and eventually implement a fully robust enterprise level BizTalk 2009 environment. As such, this blog is going to see a shift in focus from BizTalk 2004 to BizTalk 2009 and at least initially is likely to include posts on the design and installation of our BizTalk environment - assuming of course that I have the time to write them! The last post I made was the start of a chapter by chapter look at the book SOA Patterns with BizTalk Server 2009.  Due to my change of job I am currently "paused" half way through this book, and my lack of posts on the subject are directly as a result of the job move and the pending relocation of my family.  I am hoping to write about my overall opinion of this book sometime soon; so far it certainly looks like it will be a positive one.     Greeting, I'm beginer of ajax technology and now i need to create two dropdown in MVC project for example: First dropdown has the list of classroom [601,602,603] when i choose one then next dropdown will has the list of student belong to each class room. Now, I already create the repository class that has method GetStudentByClassroomName() and already connect to the database.   • Dynamically pixelate an html image element

    I'm to take an image on a webpage, and then use javascript (or whatever would be best suited) to dynamically 'pixelate' it (e.g. into 20px squares). Then, as the user scrolls down the page, I need the image to gradually increase in resolution, till it is no longer pixelated. Any ideas how I could go about doing this? I realise I could use php to resize an image and several times and just switch out the image, but that would require loading several extra images. Also, I know I could probably do the effect with flash & pixelbender, but I want to achieve it within the limitations of HTML5, CSS & Javascript if possible. Appreciate any thoughts!

  • Adding an element to a multidimensional array

    How can I loop through the array below and an element per array, with key "url_slug" and value "foo"? I tried with array_push but that gets rid of the key names (it seems?) Doing a foreach($array as $k = $v) doesn't do it either, I think. The new array should be exactly the same only having 4 elements per array instead of 3, with the key / values above.   • RFC quoted-string definition

    Hello, In RFCs there are references to quoted-string now I understand that this means a string contained in quotes. However, I'm unable to find the definition of what exactly is a valid quoted string. /"[^"]"/ = a correctly quoted string. /'[^']'/ = is this also a correctly quoted string? In other words, are both ' and " allowed as quotes when an RFC specifies quoted-string? Bonus points: In what document is this specified?

I tried using DISTINCT, but when I am selecting both columns, the combination is allways unique so I get all the rows. Thank you !

  • Flash Overlapping HTML. CSS Problem In IE??

    HELP, this is a very unique problem and I can't for the life of me figure it out. My flash content is overlapping the HTML above it. This only happens if I've just launched IE after being restarted and goes away once I refresh the page. I even added a jQuery $(document).ready function that sets a margin between the html and the flash content to add 1px of space when the page is loaded. It's so hard to figure out, because once I refresh the page, it goes away. Any input GREATLY appreciated.   • What is ADO.NET?

    I've written a few Access db's and used some light VBA, and had an OO class. Now I'm undertaking to write a C# db app. I've got VS and System.Data.SQLite installed and connected, and have entered my tables and columns, but that's where I'm stuck. I'm trying to find what info and tutorials I need to look for, but there are a lot of terms I don't understand and I don't know if or exactly how they apply to my project. I've read definitions for these terms (Wikipedia and elsewhere), but the definitions don't make sense to me because I don't know what they are or how they fit together or which ones are optional or not optional for my project. Some of the terms on the System.Data.SQLite website (I wanted to use System.Data.SQLite for my db). I figured my first step in my project would be to get the db and queries set up and tested. Please tell me if there are other pieces of this part of the puzzle I will need to know about, too. If I can figure out what's what, I can start looking for the tutorials I need. (btw, I know I don't want to use an ORM because my app is so simple, and because I want to keep from biting off too much too soon.) Thank you very much.   • AVAudioRecorder Memory Leak

    I'm hoping someone out there can back me up on this... I've been working on an application that allows the end user to record a small audio file for later playback and am in the process of testing for memory leaks. I continue to very consistently run into a memory leak when the AVAudioRecorder's "stop" method attempts to close the audio file to which it's been recording. This really seems to be a leak in the framework itself, but if I'm being a bonehead you can tell me. To illustrate, I've worked up a stripped down test app that does nothing but start/stop a recording w/ the press of a button.   • wondering how much data bandwidth can a 3G gsm cell tower can support?

    i was always wondering how many simaltinues users can a 3G tower supports with its data rates? i mean they advertize 28.8Mb/Sec for the 3G Data but in reallity if a lot of people use it say 10 , it wont give 288Mb/Sec bandwidth. i didnt find anywhere where such information is published so i thought to ask here. dont know why the cell operators keep it such a secret :)
