  • PySide Qt4 widget exchange in a hboxlayout

    I'd like to exchange a widget inside a QHBoxLayout. This code seems to work, but as soon as I do the actual app._exec(), the code crashes with terminate called after throwing an instance of 'boost::python::error_already_set'. Is there any way to get the actual error message?   • haml / rails: yield title with german umlauts

    Hi, I would like to do something like this in my application layout: %title= "#{yield(:sub_title)} - Page Name" and in a real view - content_for :sub_title do Übersicht # I tried &Uuml;bersicht, != "&Uuml;bersicht" and a bunch of other methods what happens is, I either get the black pound with the question mark in it - wrong encoding or the raw string (&UumI;bersicht). Does anyone know a way how to get this to work? Another requirement is that I'd like to show user generated content in the title and this content may or may not have umlauts in it. Used versions: Haml 3.0.11, Rails 3 beta4 and currently for development JRuby 1.5

  • How to read a Choice Field from Sharepoint 2010 Client Object Model

    Hello, I'm using Sharepoint 2010 Object Model. I'm trying to retrive the content of a Custom List. Everything works fine except if when I try to retrieve a Choice Field. When I try to retrieve the choice field, I got an PropertyOrFieldNotInitializedException exception...   • Is AMQP suitable as both an intra and inter-machine software bus?

    I'm trying to get my head around AMQP. It looks great for inter-machine (cluster, LAN, WAN) communication between applications but I'm not sure if it is suitable (in architectural, and current implementation terms) for use as a software bus within one machine. Would it be worth pulling out a current high performance message passing framework to replace it with AMQP, or is this falling into the same trap as RPC by blurring the distinction between local and non-local communication? I'm also wary of the performance impacts of using a WAN technology for intra-machine communications, although this may be more of an implementation concern than architecture. War stories would be appreciated.

  • Best way in Python to determine all possible intersections in a matrix?

    So if I have a matrix (list of lists) of unique words as my column headings, document ids as my row headings, and a 0 or 1 as the values if the word exists in that particular document. What I'd like to know is how to determine all the possible combinations of words and documents where more than one word is in common with more than one document. So something like: [[Docid_3, Docid_5], ['word1', 'word17', 'word23']], [[Docid_3, Docid_9, Docid_334], ['word2', 'word7', 'word23', 'word68', 'word982']], and so on for each possible combination. Would love a solution that provides the complete set of combinations and one that yields only the combinations that are not a subset of another, so from the example, not [[Docid_3, Docid_5], ['word1', 'word17']] since it's a complete subset of the first example. I feel like there is an elegant solution that just isn't coming to mind and the beer isn't helping. Thanks.

  • No LPT port in Windows 7 virtual machines

    Windows 7 has MS virtual PC integrated, the VM settings don't give a parallel LPT port mapping to the physical machine. Where did it go? Has anyone else noticed this, and found a solution? Update: After much digging, I found the one and only reference to this issue, on the VPC Blog: "Parallel port devices are not supported, as they are relatively rare today." -More details- It's a XP VM I've been using since VPC 2007 days, which did have this functionality. This is to configure barcode printers via the LPT port. Since the (new) MS VM can't map to my physical LPT port, I'm having a hard time configuring printers. My physical ports are enabled in the BIOS. It has worked the past 3 years, before switching to Win 7. Any help is appreciated.   • How to add custom fields in WordPress "Add a New Post" page?

    Hello awesome people, I want to add a custom field on Add A New Post page. Like - if I am to make a plugin which will post links to Twitter after a new post is made, I would like to give ability to user to select if he wants to tweet that particular post's link to Twitter. I want to display a check box somewhere in the page which says - "Post this on Twitter" and then check for it and make a tweet. I have seen some plugins which do this. But can't remember which they were. Can someone please help me out?

  • TWiki & Cygwin configuration

    I'm trying to configure the cygwin to work with TWiki, I have to input this in the Cygwin bash shell: mount -b -s c:/... but it doesn't recognize the "-s", I already fixed the problem with -b, it changed the syntax and now is "mount -o binary" for the "mount -b"part. But now it says unknown option with the "-s" anyone?? help?? or what does the -s mean, so I can look it up :S

  • Why, in Ruby, does Array("foo\nbar") == ["foo\n", "bar"]?

    In Ruby 1.8.7, Array("hello\nhello") gives you ["hello\n", "hello"]. This does two things that I don't expect: It splits the string on newlines. I'd expect it simply to give me an array with the string I pass in as its single element without modifying the data I pass in. Even if you accept that it's reasonable to split a string when passing it to Array, why does it retain the newline character when "foo\nbar".split does not? Additionally: >> Array.[] "foo\nbar" => ["foo\nbar"] >> Array.[] *"foo\nbar" => ["foo\n", "bar"]

  • How long will the serial port be around for?

    It seems that the serial port has a remarkable ability to stick around. You might call it the hardware equivalent of Windows XP. Despite pretty much physically disappearing from laptops and the like, the need to use a serial port still exists, even if it means using a converter of some sort. It is very much a legacy piece of hardware, and yet so many devices and instruments still use it. I use it myself daily in my work with PLC's, HMI's, barcode readers, etc. In my opinion, I don't think it is going anywhere soon, but how long do you think it has got before joining the museum? Do you think it ever will?

  • Carrier Wave not completing upload to Rackspace Cloud Files

    Hello, I have been attempting to get file uploads to Rackspace Cloud Files online all night, and finally tried the Carrierwave Plugin. Although the plugin worked right away, when I tried viewing the file uploaded (an image) it was broken. Upon further testing, I found out that files would upload to Cloud Files, however were just a fraction of their original size. I can't seem to figure out what's worng, and any help would be greatly appreciated.   • ActionScript 3 Context Menu Per Sprite?

    is it not possible to have different context menus for different sprites on the stage? i've tried adding a custom context menu to a sprite but it's applied to the entire stage: mySprite.contextMenu = myMenu; then after reading the documentation where it states: You can attach a ContextMenu object to a specific button, movie clip, or text field object, or to an entire movie level. You use the menu property of the Button, MovieClip, or TextField class to do this. ok, so i though i had to write it like: mySprite.menu.contextMenu = myMenu; only to be greeted with a nice migration issue stating that menu is legacy code and to use contextMenu instead. ??? um, thanks for the headsup, documentation. this process would be entirely much more easier if i could extend the ContextMenu, but for some reason it's marked as "final" and can't be extended... i'm sure adobe's reasons for finalizing the context menu class are as good as their reasons for including misleading documentation. thoughts?

    hi in my database i am store more than 50 field with primarykey (Auto increment) i am not sure about the fields name but i wants to select the entire data in that table , i am using SELECT * FROM tablename i want to select all the fields except that ID but this query populate the entire table so is there is possible to unselect the particular field in the select query.
