• In Ubuntu, how do I change my default Greek font?

  I'm taking a course in ancient Greek, and I store notes and flash cards on my computer. However, by default Ubuntu uses a modern Greek font. This changes some noticable things--for example, a circumflex is ? instead of a?. I can type the circumflex by switching back to english and entering the unicode combining character u0311 (which is what I just did to type the second a), but obviously this is very cumbersome. I've installed the "ttf-linex" package from the Ubuntu repositories, which claims to include an ancient Greek font. But I have no idea how to enable this font for whenever I switch to the Greek keyboard layout.

I believe I heard somewhere that virtualization is part of Windows 7. Can someone tell me how I can create a virtual machine or point me in the right direction?

• My images look desaturated and brighter on the iPhone than on my Mac (in PS, Pixelmator & Finder)

  I save my image in Photoshop (No Color management). I put it on the iPhone and it looks brighter and desaturated. Also my blue-green looks more like blue. I have tried some color profiles on the net: http://luminous-landscape.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=38121 http://www.colorwiki.com/wiki/Color_on_iPhone But the images still look different. I'm going insane with this because its stealing my time away and i can't fix it. Every bit of help would be appreciated! Do I have to create my own profile? Is there an easy way??

• Enable hardware virtualization in BIOS?

  I am running a FOXCONN AM2+ M61PMV with an AMD Athlon II X2 240 Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. From startup I have hit the del key and the options for enabling the hardware virtualization are not there. I have checked the Microsoft tool that says I can run virtual and i have checked SecurAble, that says yes. But I have an open case w/microsoft (they've been trying for a week [7 tech support people later]) and they're saying that I need to ensure that the hardware is enabled. Where do I go to see? Is there another way besides from the startup?

• Cocoa - Timer object that can be started, suspended, resumed?

  I'm looking for a repeating timer object that allows me to create it once and then suspend and resume it as needed for the lifetime of my application. I've seen documentation for NSTimer and although I think I can make it do what I want by building an abstraction on top of it that creates/invalidates timer objects multiple times, I was curios if there is a better way using some other system timer implementation. I'm not too familiar with Mac development and couldn't find any other leads besides NSTimer.

• PHP function returns ZERO.

  Hi guys, I'm having trouble with this PHP function. It keeps returning zero, but I know the SQL statement works because I've queried it myself. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? The last line makes no sense to me...I'm editing this code that someone else wrote. This function should return a number in the hundreds, assuming the date is in March. • How to determine why visual studio might be skipping projects when building a solution

  I am debugging someone else's work and the solution is quite large. When I try to build the entire thing, several projects within the solution don't build and just skip. Viewing the output window during the build process says: 1------ Skipped Rebuild All: Project: pr1lib ------ How can I determine why these builds were skipped? I am unable to find additional output. This is with VS2008 and the solution is comprised of c# and c++ code.

• jstl taglib not found, where have I gone wrong?

  I'm trying to add Google Maps onto my JSPs by using the googlemaps jstl taglib. I've added this into my maven pom <dependency> <groupId>com.lamatek</groupId> <artifactId>googlemaps</artifactId> <version>0.98c</version> <scope>provided<>/scope </dependency> This then included the googlemaps-0.98c library under my project libraries in NetBeans, I right clicked and selected Manually install artifact and located the googlemaps.jar file I had downloaded. I've then added this into my taglibs file <%@taglib prefix="googlemaps" uri="/WEB-INF/googlemaps" %> And have then included this where I actually want to show a map on my jsp <googlemaps:map id="map" width="250" height="300" version="2" type="STREET" zoom="12"> <googlemaps:key domain="localhost" key="xxxx"/> <googlemaps:point id="point1" address="74 Connors Lane" city="Elkton" state="MD" zipcode="21921" country="US"/> <googlemaps:marker id="marker1" point="point1"/> </googlemaps:map> But when I load up my application, I get the following error. org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /jsp/dashboard.jsp(1,1) /jsp/common/taglibs.jsp(6,56) PWC6117: File "/WEB-INF/googlemaps" not found root cause org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /jsp/common/taglibs.jsp(6,56) PWC6117: File "/WEB-INF/googlemaps" not found Have I missed something simple? • Can a ScatterViewItem dynamically resize to fit its content?

  We're hosting a control inside of a ScatterViewItem that dynamically changes its size at runtime as a result of having various sub-elements added, removed, and/or collapsed. We would like to have the hosting ScatterViewItem resize as well to properly fit its child controls, but we're having a hard time making this happen. We've tried a number of different things and the closest we've come is hooking into the child control's SizeChanged event and explicitly setting the ScatterViewItem's Width and Height, but this approach still has issues. When you define a ScatterViewItem and its content in XAML, the ScatterViewItem is sized appropriately. We would like to force the same behavior at runtime when its content changes size. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The issue I have is that even when no file is uploaded the if(isset($_FILES)) OR if(!empty($_FILES)) still passes as successful: $_FILES = $HTTP_POST_FILES; if($_POST['type'] == 'photo' && isset($_FILES)){ // returns true even if no file is uploaded.   In this video, it mentioned not to embed the Facebook secret key inside the application, http://www.adobe.com/devnet/facebook/articles/video_facebook_quick_start.html, so I passed null to this function facebookSession = new FacebookSessionUtil(MYAPI, null, stage.loaderInfo); but it didn't work. How can I hide my secret key? In the doc it mentioned: http://facebook-actionscript-api.googlecode.com/svn/release/current/docs/com/facebook/utils/FacebookSessionUtil.html secret:String — Your application's secret key. If this parameter is passed a value of null, the constructor looks for a special session secret stored in the fb_sig_ss property of the loaderInfo object. For web sessions, even if you pass a non-null value for this parameter, the constructor will always look for a session secret and use that instead of the value that you pass for this parameter.

• OS X crops the screenshot when capturing a single, maximised window.

  Whenever I make a screen shot of just a single window that is maximised using the shortcut command + shift + 4 + space, it never accurately captures the full window. Instead, it just saves this: What is going on? Why has OS X started doing this? I have been using Snow Leopard for a while, so it is not like that is causing the problems directly. It is also not restricted to Safari. The same thing happens for iTunes, as well as others.
