    I am new to CSS designing and not aware of most of the properties of CSS. I am creating a layout for a web page. I am using div in my layout. My structure is somewhat like this <div id="content1_bg"> <div> <div class="content1_title_img_div"></div> <div class="content1_title_txt_div"></div> <div class="content1_dvider_div"></div> <div class="content1_content_div"></div> </div> <div></div> <div></div> </div> For this my CSS is #content1_bg div{width:250px;height:220px;float:left;border:3px solid blue; margin:20px;} .content1_title_img_div{width:50px;height:100px;} .content1_title_txt_div{width:150px;height:100px;} .content1_dvider_div{width:100%;height:10%;clear:both;} .content1_content_div{width:100%;height:50%;clear:both;} For this layout i was expecting my design to be like ---------------- |BOX1 BOX2 | ---------------- | BOX 3 | ---------------- | BOX 4 | ---------------- But on using my css layout is somewhat like this -------------------- | | | | | |BOX1| | BOX2| | | | | | | -------------------- | | |BOX3| | | -------------------- | | |BOX4| | | Basically i want my inner div's not to inherit the properties of outer div. How can i remove this inheritance relationship between parent div and child div

  • Must .aspx files have a page directive?

    Around 90% of the pages for our websites have no .Net code embedded in them yet are published as .aspx files. I want these to render as fast as possible so I'm removing as much as I can. Does the .Net page directive have an impact on performance? I am thinking about two factors; the page speed for each GET and what happens when the file changes. The CMS system re-creates each page daily and I'm wondering if this triggers the ASP.Net compilation process.

  • Fractional to Decimal Form.

    Hi, there probably isn't an answer to this apart from "Create it yourself", but you never know, there might be some string representation for this. Basically, I would like to display number values as fractional instead of decimal when displaying the values as a string. Instead of a value displaying as: 1.1428571428571428571428571428571 I would prefer it to display as 8/7 Is there any way of doing this without writing the functionality myself? Regards Lloyd

  • Outlook Addin in C# - How to add button/group in New Mail (next to signatures)

    I'm having some trouble understanding Outlook terms (CommandBarPopup, CommandBarButton etc) like what is what in Outlook so please be patient. I would like to create couple of things: I would like to create new group (or just button but i read it's not possible to add a button to an existing group in ribbon) on new mail next to Signature/Add attachment in Message Ribbon. It would have to work the same way Signature works so when you press it it display couple of options. How can i create it? I would like to override a button "NEW" (where you can choose that you want to send new mail, make appointment or do other things) so that when you are in Main Window when you press the down arrow next to new button you could choose one of options i will add? Is this possible? How do I do it? I want to check if these users are collegues. Questions: Does Doctrine have any pre-build functionality to check if two records with with self-relations are related? If not, how would you write a method to check this? Where would you put said method?   • JQuery live event binding prevents additional callbacks

    Hey! I was building an AJAX listing of elements in my site, with the ability to delete them (also via AJAX). The following piece of code handles the deletion: $('ul.action-menu a.delete').live('click', function () { $.post($(this).attr('href'), function (data) { var recvData = eval( '(' + data + ')' ); if ((recvData.status == 1) && (recvData.delId)) { $('#alert-' + recvData.delId).fadeOut(); } else { alert(recvData.message); } }); return false; }); This works just fine. The problem is that, for elements that were not there when the page was loaded (i.e. that were added dynamically), the post callback does not get executed and it doesn't fade out after being deleted (the AJAX call is being made, it just doesn't execute the callback).   • Should static analysis warnings fail the CI build?

    Our team is investigating various options for static analysis in our project, and have mixed opinions about whether we want our Continuous Integration build to fail because of warnings from static analysis. The argument against failing the build is that there are often exceptions to the rules, and attempting to work around them just to make the build succeed reduces productivity. A better approach would be to generate reports with the build, and regularly dedicate developer time to addressing the reported issues. The counter-argument is that it is easy for the technical debt to build up if the bugs are not addressed immediately. Also, if the build fails when a potential bug is introduced, the amount of time required to fix it is reduced. What are your thoughts?

  • Windows 7 allow pinning exe on network share to taskbar

    I am just configuring my new Windows 7 work machine and have discovered that I can't pin an exe on a network drive to the taskbar. Are there any work arounds to this e.g. Registry Edits. I can understand the reasoning it's not allowed by default for newbies as the network location may later not exist but I am certain it always will.

  • Is there a debian lenny patch to allow apt-get to work with sftp?

    I would like to write things like this in /etc/apt/sources.list: deb sftp://[email protected]/path other stuff When I try this, apt-get complains that there is no sftp method for apt: # apt-get update E: The method driver /usr/lib/apt/methods/sftp could not be found. Has anyone written a patch to add the sftp method for apt? All I could find in Google was this spec for Ubuntu. Thanks for your help.
