  • M2Crypto doesn't install in venv, or swig doesn't define __x86_64__ which breaks compiling against OpenSSL

    - by Lorin Hochstein
    I'm trying to install the Python M2Crypto package into a virtualenv on an x86_64 RHEL 6.1 machine. This process invokes swig, which fails with the following error: $ virtualenv -q --no-site-packages venv $ pip install -E venv M2Crypto==0.20.2 Downloading/unpacking M2Crypto==0.20.2 Downloading M2Crypto-0.20.2.tar.gz (412Kb): 412Kb downloaded Running setup.py egg_info for package M2Crypto Installing collected packages: M2Crypto Running setup.py install for M2Crypto building 'M2Crypto.__m2crypto' extension swigging SWIG/_m2crypto.i to SWIG/_m2crypto_wrap.c swig -python -I/usr/include/python2.6 -I/usr/include -includeall -o SWIG/_m2crypto_wrap.c SWIG/_m2crypto.i /usr/include/openssl/opensslconf.h:31: Error: CPP #error ""This openssl-devel package does not work your architecture?"". Use the -cpperraswarn option to continue swig processing. error: command 'swig' failed with exit status 1 Complete output from command /home/lorin/venv/bin/python -c "import setuptools;__file__='/home/lorin/venv/build/M2Crypto/setup.py';exec(compile(open(__file__).read().replace('\r\n', '\n'), __file__, 'exec'))" install --single-version-externally-managed --record /tmp/pip-BFiNtU-record/install-record.txt --install-headers /home/lorin/venv/include/site/python2.6: I've got OpenSSL 1.0.0 installed via RPM packages from RedHat. The part of /usr/include/openssl/opensslconf.h that causes the error looks like this: #if defined(__i386__) #include "opensslconf-i386.h" #elif defined(__ia64__) #include "opensslconf-ia64.h" #elif defined(__powerpc64__) #include "opensslconf-ppc64.h" #elif defined(__powerpc__) #include "opensslconf-ppc.h" #elif defined(__s390x__) #include "opensslconf-s390x.h" #elif defined(__s390__) #include "opensslconf-s390.h" #elif defined(__sparc__) && defined(__arch64__) #include "opensslconf-sparc64.h" #elif defined(__sparc__) #include "opensslconf-sparc.h" #elif defined(__x86_64__) #include "opensslconf-x86_64.h" #else #error "This openssl-devel package does not work your architecture?" #endif gcc has the right variable defined: $ echo | gcc -E -dM - | grep x86_64 #define __x86_64 1 #define __x86_64__ 1 But apparenty swig doesn't, since this is the line that's failing: swig -python -I/usr/include/python2.6 -I/usr/include -includeall -o \ SWIG/_m2crypto_wrap.c SWIG/_m2crypto.i Is there a way to fix this by changing something in my system configuration? M2Crypto gets installed in a virtualenv as part of a larger script I don't control, so avoiding mucking around with the M2Crypto files would be a good thing.

  • Modifying CSS class property values on the fly with JavaScript / jQuery

    - by JPN
all. I've run into a unique situation that I have so far been unable to find a solution for: dynamically assigning a value to a CSS style. I know how to use jQuery to assign width, height, etc. to an element, but what I'm trying to do is actually change the value defined in the stylesheet so that the dynamically-created value can be assigned to multiple elements. What I'm building is a slideshow of images that occupy the full viewport, recalculating the image's width, height, and left properties on resize so that the image is always centered, favors width over height, except when the viewport is taller than it is wide (resizing does not reload the page, just fires a function to resize the image). I have successfully been able to get it to work on one image, and now I'm trying to determine the best way to assign those property values to all images in the slideshow without having to specify those three things individually for every image. Can the values of properties in a class be modified on the fly? I'm sure the answer is out there, I'm probably just not using the correct terminology in my searches. Hope I did a good job of describing the problem. TIA.

  • Detecting Screen Resolution to load alternative CSS a good idea?

    - by jdln
Im working with a graphic designer who constantly wants to make websites larger than the 960 pixels i recommend. I can do a certain amount with liquid layouts but id really love to be able to load different CSS for larger resolutions. I googled it and found the link below, but im worried that I havnt heard more about this. Is this is a reliable method? Im concerned as I would have thought that more people would want to do this. http://www.ilovecolors.com.ar/detect-screen-size-css-style/ Thanks

  • How do I set up disk quotas over LDAP on CentOs?

    - by Noxshun
I've been google-ing for some time and I haven't been able to find any resources or hints on the subject. I am wondering if it is possible to do so, if so how? Any nudge in right direction will be appricated. I do know that if you download and install "Linux Quota" from source, you'll get some perl scripts which are supposed to aid with the matter. But there is as far as I know absolutely no good documentation to help you along the way. I am also running a NFS server from the same machine. Note: This is for a university assignment, so I might be totally stupid for asking this question. I am trying to explore the options. If there is a better way of solving this, please do tell. Edit: Here is a link to the site of Linux Quota. They do include a LDAP schema, so it should be possible.

  • Apache mod_proxy with SSL not redirecting

    - by simonszu
I have a custom server running behind an apache reverse proxy. Since the custom server can only handle HTTP traffic, i am trying to use apache for wrapping proper SSL around it, and for some kind of HTTP authentication. So i enabled mod_proxy and mod_ssl and modified sites-available/default-ssl. The config is as following: <Location /server> order deny, allow allow from all AuthType Basic AuthName "Please log in" AuthUserFile /etc/apache2/htpasswd Require valid-user ProxyPass http://192.168.1.102:8181/server ProxyPassReverse http://192.168.1.102:8181/server </Location> The custom server is accessible from the internal network via the location specified in the ProxyPass directive. However, when the proxy is accessed from the outside, it presents the login prompt, and after successfully authenticated, i get a blank page with the words The resource can be found at http://192.168.1.102:8181/server. When i type the external URL again in an already authenticated browser instance, i am properly redirected to the server frontend. The access.log is full of entrys stating that my browser does successful GET requests, and the proxy is happily serving the /server ressource. However, the ressource isn't containing the server's frontend, but this blank page with these words on it.

  • php server settings for restrict post queries

    - by Korjavin Ivan
I have php script on hosting, which receive big data with ajax/post. Just now, after some works on hosting, I see that script is broken. I checked with curl: file temp1: user_avatar=&user_baner=&user_sig=.... 237 chars total, and curl -H "X-Requested-With: XMLHttpRequest" -X POST --data @temp1 'http://host/mypage.php' works perfect. But with file temp2: name=%D0%9C%D0%B5%D0%B1%%B5%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%A4%%B0%D0%B1%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%BA%D1%8A&user_payed=0000-00-00&...positions%5B5231%5D=on total chars: 65563 curl -H "X-Requested-With: XMLHttpRequest" -X POST --data @temp2 'http://host/mypage.php' curl return nothing. Looks like a problem with apache/php/php.ini or something like that. I check .htaccess php_value post_max_size 20M Which other parameters I should check? Is it possible that %BO encode kill php/apache? Or total number of parameters (about 2800) ?

  • Problems using wondershaper on KVM guest

    - by Daniele Testa
    I am trying to limit bandwidth on one of my KVM guest using Wondershaper. Doing something like this works fine: wondershaper br23 9000 9000 Doing a wget with the setting above gives a download speed of about 1MB/sec like it should. However, it seems this is the highest setting I can use, because setting it to this does not work: wondershaper br23 10000 10000 Doing the same wget with the setting above downloads with full speed, about 70MB/sec in my case. Running a status-check returns the following: qdisc cbq 1: root refcnt 2 rate 10000Kbit (bounded,isolated) prio no-transmit Sent 0 bytes 0 pkt (dropped 0, overlimits 0 requeues 0) backlog 0b 0p requeues 0 borrowed 0 overactions 0 avgidle 12500 undertime 0 qdisc sfq 10: parent 1:10 limit 127p quantum 1514b divisor 1024 perturb 10sec Sent 0 bytes 0 pkt (dropped 0, overlimits 0 requeues 0) backlog 0b 0p requeues 0 qdisc sfq 20: parent 1:20 limit 127p quantum 1514b divisor 1024 perturb 10sec Sent 0 bytes 0 pkt (dropped 0, overlimits 0 requeues 0) backlog 0b 0p requeues 0 qdisc sfq 30: parent 1:30 limit 127p quantum 1514b divisor 1024 perturb 10sec Sent 0 bytes 0 pkt (dropped 0, overlimits 0 requeues 0) backlog 0b 0p requeues 0 qdisc ingress ffff: parent ffff:fff1 ---------------- Sent 0 bytes 0 pkt (dropped 0, overlimits 0 requeues 0) backlog 0b 0p requeues 0 class cbq 1: root rate 10000Kbit (bounded,isolated) prio no-transmit Sent 0 bytes 0 pkt (dropped 0, overlimits 0 requeues 0) backlog 0b 0p requeues 0 borrowed 0 overactions 0 avgidle 12500 undertime 0 class cbq 1:1 parent 1: rate 10000Kbit (bounded,isolated) prio 5 Sent 0 bytes 0 pkt (dropped 0, overlimits 0 requeues 0) backlog 0b 0p requeues 0 borrowed 0 overactions 0 avgidle 12500 undertime 0 class cbq 1:10 parent 1:1 leaf 10: rate 10000Kbit prio 1 Sent 0 bytes 0 pkt (dropped 0, overlimits 0 requeues 0) backlog 0b 0p requeues 0 borrowed 0 overactions 0 avgidle 12500 undertime 0 class cbq 1:20 parent 1:1 leaf 20: rate 9000Kbit prio 2 Sent 0 bytes 0 pkt (dropped 0, overlimits 0 requeues 0) backlog 0b 0p requeues 0 borrowed 0 overactions 0 avgidle 12500 undertime 0 class cbq 1:30 parent 1:1 leaf 30: rate 8000Kbit prio 2 Sent 0 bytes 0 pkt (dropped 0, overlimits 0 requeues 0) backlog 0b 0p requeues 0 borrowed 0 overactions 0 avgidle 12500 undertime 0 What am I doing wrong? • No input file specified on nginx and php-cgi

    - by Sandeep Bansal
I'm trying to run nginx and php-cgi on my Windows PC, I've got up to the point where I want to move the html directory back two directory's so I can sort of create a structure. The only problem I have now is that PHP doesn't pick up any .php file. I have tried loading a static html file (localhost/test.html) and it works fine but localhost/info.php doesn't work at all. Can anyone give me some guidance on this? The part of the server block can be found below. server { listen 80; server_name localhost; root ../../www; index index.html index.htm index.php; #charset koi8-r; #access_log logs/host.access.log main; location ~ \.php$ { fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9123; fastcgi_index index.php; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name; include fastcgi_params; } Thanks

  • How to prevent delays associated with IPv6 AAAA records?

    - by Nic
Our Windows servers are registering IPv6 AAAA records with our Windows DNS servers. However, we don't have IPv6 routing enabled on our network, so this frequently causes stall behaviours. Microsoft RDP is the worst offender. When connecting to a server that has a AAAA record in DNS, the remote desktop client will try IPv6 first, and won't fall back to IPv4 until the connection times out. Power users can work around this by connecting to the IP address directly. Resolving the IPv4 address with ping -4 hostname.foo always works instantly. What can I do to avoid this delay? Disable IPv6 on client? Nope, Microsoft says IPv6 is a mandatory part of the Windows operating system. Too many clients to ensure this is set everywhere consistently. Will cause more problems later when we finally implement IPv6. Disable IPv6 on the server? Nope, Microsoft says IPv6 is a mandatory part of the Windows operating system. Requires an inconvenient registry hack to disable the entire IPv6 stack. Ensuring this is correctly set on all servers is inconvenient. Will cause more problems later when we finally implement IPv6. Mask IPv6 records on the user-facnig DNS recursor? Nope, we're using NLNet Unbound and it doesn't support that. Prevent registration of IPv6 AAAA records on the Microsoft DNS server? I don't think that's even possible. At this point, I'm considering writing a script that purges all AAAA records from our DNS zones. Please, help me find a better way. UPDATE: DNS resolution is not the problem. As @joeqwerty points out in his answer, the DNS records are returned instantly. Both A and AAAA records are immediately available. The problem is that some clients (mstsc.exe) will preferentially attempt a connection over IPv6, and take a while to fall back to IPv4. This seems like a routing problem. The ping command produces a "General failure" error message because the destination address is unroutable. C:\Windows\system32>ping myhost.mydomain Pinging myhost.mydomain [2002:1234:1234::1234:1234] with 32 bytes of data: General failure. General failure. General failure. General failure. Ping statistics for 2002:1234:1234::1234:1234: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss), I can't get a packet capture of this behaviour. Running this (failing) ping command does not produce any packets in Microsoft Network Monitor. Similarly, attempting a connection with mstsc.exe to a host with an AAAA record produces no traffic until it does a fallback to IPv4. UPDATE: Our hosts are all using publicly-routable IPv4 addresses. I think this problem might come down to a broken 6to4 configuration. 6to4 behaves differently on hosts with public IP addresses vs RFC1918 addresses. UPDATE: There is definitely something fishy with 6to4 on my network. When I disable 6to4 on the Windows client, connections resolve instantly. netsh int ipv6 6to4 set state disabled But as @joeqwerty says, this only masks the problem. I'm still trying to find out why IPv6 communication on our network is completely non-working.

  • Which permissions need to be assigned to a normal user to allow him to change SHARE permissions?

    - by guest
As in the subject - I am wondering, which permissions (if it is possible) do I need to assign to a regular user to modify the share permissions - e.g. to add another user with full control permissions, or to deny someone read access to the folder - on a share level. I know that this is possible through NTFS permissions, but I am wondering whether it is also possible on share level. Any ideas how to do that? Or perhaps only the adminstrator/creator/person who shared the folder has the access to this? I am using win2003 Any ideas? Thanks

  • Connecting to Aerohive AP's from Laptops running Win. 7 using authentication from a Windows 2008 domain server

    - by user264116
I have deployed a wireless network using Aerohive access points. 2 of them are set up as radius servers. I want my users to be able to use the same user name and password they use when they log onto our domain. They are able to do this from android devices or computers running Windows 8. It will not work on Windows 7 machines. How do I remedy this situation, keeping in mind that the machines are personal machines not company owned and I will have no way to change their hardware or software.

  • SSL FTP fails on Windows 7 but not Windows XP clients

    - by Andrew Neely
We currently use a free SSL-FTP client called Move-It-Freely to transmit data from a custom data entry program at over forty facilities scattered around the state to our central server. Under XP, it works flawlessly. Some facilities have upgraded to Windows 7. On these machines, uploads (transfers to us) work, downloads (transfers from us to them) fail. Replacing the Windows 7 machine with an XP machine solves the problem. We have also verified that the network firewall settings have not changed. This problem persists even if Windows firewall is not running. We were able to remote into one of the Windows 7 machines to verify that the Windows firewall was indeed turned off. We cannot replicate the problem on our own Windows 7 machines, and are at a loss of how to fix this feature for our customers. The data contain health-related information, and needs to be encrypted (hence SSL-FTP.) Despite hours spent on Google, we cannot find a solution.

  • How to migrate Lotus Notes Mail in database to Exchange public folder?

    - by elsni
I need to migrate a Lotus Notes Mail database to Exchange. In the past, Users get mails in their Notes mail accounts and sort them manually by drag and drop in a specific folder structure in a seperate Notes mail database. This should be mapped to Exchange. I considered using outlook and a sharepoint Library mapped to outlook, but Outlook does not support drag and drop from the mail account to a standard doclib and the discussion libs do not support folders. So I think it's the easiest way to use an Exchange public folder instead of a sharepoint lib, which should work as in Notes (correct me if I'm wrong). But how I do migrate the old Notes db to the public folder including all subfolders? Thank you!

  • How to get nginx to pass HTTP_AUTHORIZATION header to Apache

    - by codeinthehole
Am using Nginx as a reverse proxy to an Apache server that uses HTTP Auth. For some reason, I can't get the HTTP_AUTHORIZATION header through to Apache, it seems to get filtered out by Nginx. Hence, no requests can authenticate. Note that the Basic auth is dynamic so I don't want to hard-code it in my nginx config. My nginx config is: server { listen 80; server_name example.co.uk ; access_log /var/log/nginx/access.cdk-dev.tangentlabs.co.uk.log; gzip on; proxy_set_header Host $host; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_read_timeout 120; location / { proxy_pass http://localhost:81/; } location ~* \.(jpg|png|gif|jpeg|js|css|mp3|wav|swf|mov|doc|xls|ppt|docx|pptx|xlsx|swf)$ { if (!-f $request_filename) { break; proxy_pass http://localhost:81; } root /var/www/example; } } Anyone know why this is happening? Update - turns out the problem was something I had overlooked in my original question: mod_wsgi. The site in question here is a Django site, and it turns out that Apache does get the auth variables passed through, however mod_wsgi filters them out. The resolution is to use: WSGIPassAuthorization On See http://www.arnebrodowski.de/blog/508-Django,-mod_wsgi-and-HTTP-Authentication.html for more details

I try very many magic spells on Registry, use many TCP Optimisers - but nothing works. I will accept that that everything is ok, when I reboot the PC, run iperf and will see 18.1Mbit - like my Linux box standing very near my Windows XP Box. Is it possible?

  • Restrict Applications access to Device

    - by Dboy1612
I have a PC that has the ability to handle running multiple game clients at once (specifically Tera Online). What I'd like to do is assign and/or restrict each clients access to a device (Gamepad) so that the actions from each device only effects the client I specify. After doing some research with Python's PyGame, I can see that a Gamepad essentially works like a Keyboard does by sending global key events to the entire system, and then the application reading those events. Question is, how can I make it not global? ONly have one application read one controller? Any help is appreciated!

  • vim default save is no file type? default setting advisable?

    - by Brady Trainor
I just came across a problem that I seemed to have found a solution, but was a little surprised by the issue. In gVim, when I save a new document (new from "within" gVim), ala :w afile I realized it saves with I guess no file format, and thus is not visible in iPhone's PlainText app. Solution seems to be, save using :w afile.txt then the problem seems solved. Is this a good way to solve it? Should I change a default somewhere, either in Windows or _gvimrc file? I may consider doing some TeX'ing in vim at some point, so perhaps a default that allows for overriding in saving, and doesn't force txt when opening "any of all" documents.

  • Excel fails to open Python-generated CSV files

    - by johnjdc
I have many Python scripts that output CSV files. It is occasionally convenient to open these files in Excel. After installing OS X Mavericks, Excel no longer opens these files properly: Excel doesn't parse the files and it duplicates the rows of the file until it runs out of memory. Specifically, when Excel attempts to open the file, a prompt appears that reads: "File not loaded completely." Example of code I'm using to generate the CSV files: import csv with open('csv_test.csv', 'wb') as f: writer = csv.writer(f) writer.writerow([1,2,3]) writer.writerow([4,5,6]) Even the simple file generated by the above code fails to load properly in Excel. However, if I open the CSV file in a text editor and copy/paste the text into Excel, parse it with text to columns, and then save as CSV from Excel, then I can reopen the CSV file in Excel without issue. Do I need to pass an additional parameter in my scripts to make Excel parse the CSV files the same way it used to? Or is there some setting I can change in OS X Mavericks or Excel? Thanks.

I have build a vm using the following command : time sudo ubuntu-vm-builder qemu precise --arch 'amd64' --mem '1024' --rootsize '4096' --swapsize '1024' --kernel-flavour 'generic' --hostname 'ubuntu' --components 'main' --name 'Bob' --user 'ubuntu' --pass 'ubuntu' --bridge 'br0' --libvirt 'qemu:///system' And I can run the VM successfully in qemu using the following command: qemu-system-x86_64 -smp 1 -drive file=tmpGgEOzK.qcow2 "$@" -net nic -net user -serial stdio -redir tcp:2222::22 Now, I want to debug the kernel using gdb. For this I need an executable with debug symbols(vmlinux), which apparently I don't have, as the vm-builder never asked for any such options and simply created a .qcow2 file. Question 1: Am I taking the correct approach to solve the problem and is there an easier way to do it? Question 2: Is there a way to debug this kernel using GDB? P.S: I don't have hardware support for KVM. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

  • Reinstall Acer OEM Windows 8, Windows 8 Recovery for Acer Aspire V5 122p

    - by stwindr
My Acer Aspire V5-122P-61456G50NSS, model - MS2377, has crashed all together. It came preloaded with Windows 8 and I upgraded to windows 8.1 3-4 days before crash. Unfortunately I did not make any recovery media before the crash. While accessing the eRecovery on Acer store with my PC's serial no. it says nor RCD available for this. I tried recovery by loading recovery manager (Left Alt + F10) Various other advanced startup options (like holding shift key while turning on or pressing F8 key) returns nothing but no luck. However I am able to enter BIOS. After doing research on above condition on various PC forums, now my questions: I read that a 'Windows Recovery Drive' can be made on any PC running Windows 8 and could be used to repair another PC. Does anybody in SuperUser community have that (or a link to download the same from somewhere? as I'm unable to find anybody running windows 8 among my friends). I downloaded a window 8 Pro ISO and made a bootable USB. I was able to go to 'Repair Your Computer' option and after going to 'Reset your PC' option found that my recovery partition has gone/missing. I tried all options available but no luck. Then I tried to install with that Windows 8 Pro ISO but got message: "The product key entered does not match any of the Windows images available for installation. Enter a different product key". before this message I did not got any form to fill product key! Does this mean that the installer was picking up the key from BIOS (OEM Key)? and may be the installation did not succeeded because OEM Windows version was Window 8 and I was trying to install Windows 8 Pro. If that is the case then, could somebody please send me link to download an Windows 8 ISO? I am helpless and couldn't find anywhere on internet (without having to pay for a new key, but I should not pay as the installer will use OEM key).

  • best way to quickly share multiple photos without permanently hosting them

    - by dsollen
I find that I'm often asked to share lots of photos with someone, enough that uploading each one individually to them gets tedious when I would like to drag and drop the whole bunch. I could put them on photobucket, but some of them are semi-private; private enough that I don't want them to be easily found on image hosting sites. Are there any convenient ways of sharing these photos quickly but still being able to remove them from the inter-webs afterwards (without too much hassle)? I have found Yahoo Messenger complete version has great photo sharing options; but not everyone has it and I can't expect people to download it just to see some photos.
