  • Visual Studio 2008. MFC event wizard broken

    OK, so it's almost a programming question - The VS2008 dialog event wizard has stopped working. Double-clicking on a button in an MFC dialog project does not fire the wizard as usual and a right-click to get to the 'Add Event Handler...' shows a dialog with no message types. Further to this the MFC message mapping and virtual class listing that generally appears in the properties window (Alt + Enter) is now empty. Has anyone elese seen this and if so, how'd they fix it? I have 'repaired' my VS08 installation ... Thx++ Jerry

  • valgrind complains doing a very simple strtok in c

    Hi I'm trying to tokenize a string by loading an entire file into a char[] using fread. For some strange reason it is not always working, and valgrind complains in this very small sample program.     rpmbuild generates RPM under which directory? I checked the RPMS directory:- [root@tom adil]# ls /usr/src/redhat/ BUILD RPMS SOURCES SPECS SRPMS [root@tom adil]# ls /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/ athlon i386 i486 i586 i686 noarch [root@tom adil]# How to decide rpmbuild outputs in which of the above sub-directories? Is it controlled by spec file? What is the default option? I thought uname -p but its not the case probable uname -i is used.   • Actual long double precision does not agree with std::numeric_limits

    Working on Mac OS X 10.6.2, Intel, with i686-apple-darwin10-g++-4.2.1, and compiling with the -arch x86_64 flag, I just noticed that while... std::numeric_limits<long double>::max_exponent10 = 4932 ...as is expected, when a long double is actually set to a value with exponent greater than 308, it becomes inf--ie in reality it only has 64bit precision instead of 80bit. Also, sizeof() is showing long doubles to be 16 bytes, which they should be. Finally, using gives the same results as . Does anyone know where the discrepancy might be? long double x = 1e308, y = 1e309; cout << std::numeric_limits::max_exponent10 << endl; cout << x << '\t' << y << endl; cout << sizeof(x) << endl; gives 4932 1e+308 inf 16

    At my workplace I have a regular user account on RedHat and Suse machines. I don't have root privileges. How can I install software that I download from the internet (from sources or binaries)? For example, now I want to install the Geany IDE for my own use. I tried to download sources and compile, and I tried to install the RPM, but non of of these works because it requires the root.

    Hello everybody, I am looking into improving my programming skils (actually I try to do my best to suck less each year, as our Jeff Atwood put it), so I was thinking into reading stuff about metaprogramming and self explanatory code. I am looking for something like an idiot's guide to this (free books for download, online resources). Also I want more than your average wiki page and also something language agnostic or preferably with Java examples. Do you know of such resources that will allow to efficiently put all of it into prectice (I know experience has a lot to say in all of this but i kind of want to build experience avoiding the flow bad decitions - experience - good decitions)?     Is it possible to use a subform's 'current' record set as the domain argument to DAvg() (etc.)? Basically, I have a subform that displays a subset of records from a query. I would like to run DAvg() over this subset. This is how I've gotten around it: =DAvg([FieldToAvg], [SubformQuery], "ChildField=Forms.MasterForm.MasterField And FieldToAvg > 0") but what I actually want is something like: =DAvg([FieldToAvg], [SubformCurrentlyDisplayedData], "FieldToAvg > 0") Is this possible in Access 2007?

  • How should I structure my git commits?

    I'm trying to contribute to open source software for the first time, but I'm pretty inexperienced with version control systems. In particular, right now I want to make a number of changes to different parts of the code, but I'm not sure if the maintainer would want to integrate all of them into the master repository. However, the changes I'll be making are independent, i.e. they affect different parts of the file, or parts of different files. How should I go about making the changes? If I make a string of commits on the same branch, will the maintainer be able to pick and choose what he wants from the individual commit? E.g. can he patch in the changes I made in my second commit while ignoring the first one? Or should I make each change in a separate branch?

Its actually a 3D image data. So, is there any way by which I can reduce this time?

    Hi, i have problem trying to find out the default resolution of the images taken and saved by UIImagePicker. I'm trying to merge the photo taken and another image from my library and without knowing what's the size of the image, i'm not able to merge the 2 images correctly. Another question is that: are there different resolutions for the different iphones such as 2g, 3g or 3gs?

    i have two computer PC1 and PC2 in PC1 i have a .Net C# dll file that provides operations on sql server database. my question is - "how can i use this dll file on PC2 through VBScript within Outlook 2003". I tried this same task on PC1 and i succeeded using the CreateObject("dllfilename.classname") method of VBScript within outlook 2003. but now i want to use that dll file on PC2. is there any efficient way by which i can use that dll on PC2 without having to copy dll on PC2.

  • Unable to set cookie in response header (newcookie doesn't show in external browser) : Jersey jax-rs

But the browser is not storing the cookie. in external browser: the header doesn't have any set-cookie field. Should I use HTTPServletResponse? But shouldn't the javax.ws.rs.core.Response work as well?
