  • What causes a UIViewController to become active?

    I am sure this is an easy question, but one that has escaped me for some time now. Say I have a UIViewController, either defined as a root in an XIB or on a stack. At some point in my code I want to replace it with another view controller. Just flat out replace it. How would I do that? I have tried defining the controller and assigning, but not sure what actually makes it push on the screen with the absence of a navigation controller.

  • SSIS Expressions - EvaluateAsExpression Problem

    In a Data Flow, I have an Derived Column task. In the expression for one of the columns, I have the following expression: [siteid] == "100" ? "1101" : [siteid] == "110" ? "1001" : [siteid] == "120" ? "2101" : [siteid] == "140" ? "1102" : [siteid] == "210" ? "2001" : [siteid] == "310" ? "3001" : [siteid] This works just fine. However, I intend to reuse this in at least a dozen other places so I want to store this to a variable and use the variable in the Derived Column instead of the hard-coded expression. When I attempt to create a variable, using the expression above, I get a syntax error saying 'siteid' is not defined. I guess this makes sense because it isn't. But how can I get this the expression to work by using a variable? It seems like I need some sort of way to tell it that 'siteid' will be the column containing the data I want to apply the expression to.

  • How to set subversion global-ignores to eliminate .metadata?

    I'm trying to set up Subversion on Ubuntu Linux. It seems to be working, except that when I made one change and tried svn status, I found about 100 files had been changed, in the .metadata directory. My ~/.subversion/config file currently contains the following line: global-ignores = *.o *.lo *.la *.al .libs *.so *.so.[0-9]* *.a *.pyc *.pyo *.rej *~ .*.swp .DS_Store What do I need to add to ignore the .metadata files? The directory under consideration is used by Eclipse for Python development using PyDev, if that matters.

  • Good Times and Vibes at Mix 10

    Last week I spent a few days in Las Vegas attending the Mix 10 conference. Mix is billed as A 3 day conference for web designers and developers building the world's most innovative web sites. Which certainly reflects its origins as a conference focused on the web and web standards. But this year, it seemed that the scope for Mix was expanded to be about, well, a Mix of technologies as the Windows Phone 7 series figured prominently at the conference.   • Need a good colocation host

    I'm looking for a good collocation host in Los Angeles. I've looked at quite a few hosts, but found precious few reviews. Has anyone had particularly good or bad experiences that can point me in a good direction? We will be starting out with 2U's and I'm leaning towards burstable bandwidth rather than 95th percentile.   • SQL Server 2008: Can't connect to remote server via management studio but can telnet in fine

    Hi, I am in the process of trying to configure SQL Server 2008 to accept remote connections. I have been through all the documentation I can find and yet when I attempt to connect through management studio I get an error stating that the server could not be found. Interestingly I can connect through telnet to the remote server via the port that sql server is listening on. In the SQL Server logs I can see the connection attempt. So SQL Server is up and running and listening on the correct port - no firewall blocking it. It would appear that by default SQL Server is listening on port 50314 by default but management studio attempts to connect on port 1433.Weird. Server Management Studio = no dice. Anyone got any ideas? Server is set to allow remote connections - TCP IP is enabled, firewall is off. Thanks UPDATE FOR TO CLEAR THINGS UP A BIT We are seeing the connection attempt when we telnet in on port 50314 in the sql server logs. When we login through management studio we see it attempting connection on port 1433. There is no sign of this connection attempt in the logs.

  • LCD monitor flickering

    I've recently got an LCD monitor and it is occasionally 'flickering' colors very noticeably. It's not a new monitor, but the person I'm borrowing it from hasn't had any trouble with it. The flickering occurs across operating systems and screen resolutions. I'm pretty sure it's related to dirty power - it often happens when fluorescent lights get turned on or the fridge starts, but not always. Is this likely to be the cause of the problem? Is there any good way to test this? Is there anything that can be done about bad grounding?

    my local is 'en_IN' (ie Zend_Registry::get('Zend_Locale')) I have to convert the local value to standard float number format for example 1,235.23 = 1235.23 3.23 = 3.23 I have used the following code Zend_Locale_Format::getFloat($value, array('locale' = Zend_Registry::get('Zend_Locale'))); it working fine for 1,235.23, and i get the answer 1235.23. But when i give 3.23 , i get the error on this code And the error shown as 'No localized value in 3.23 found', This issue is happening in the browser opera, when we set the language is English(IN)(en-IN)

    Hi, I am getting the following error while running a select statement (using OleDbCommand). My query is SELECT CME FROM Personnel WHERE CME = '11349D' If objOleDbCom.ExecuteScalar() 0 Then When i execute the above statement i got this error Conversion from string "11349D" to type 'Double' is not valid. My field CME data type is Text My database is Access 2007 I tried by running my query directly inside database and it is running fine. Please suggest. Thanks.

  • Ordered many-to-many relationship in NHibernate

    Let's say I have two classes: Item and ItemCollection, where ItemCollection contains an ordered list of Item objects with an index, i.e. the list is ordered in a way specified by the user. Let's also say that they have a many-to-many relationship, an ItemCollection can contain many items and an Item can belong to several ItemCollections. That would, in my head, require three tables in the database. One for Item, one for ItemCollection and one for the ordered mapping. The mapping table would contain three columns: int ItemID int ItemCollectionID int ListIndex QUESTION: How would you design the ItemCollection class? Should the list of Item objects be a list, dictionary or other? What would the NHibernate mapping look like to get the ListIndex into the picture?

  • Possible bug in ASP.NET MVC with form values being replaced.

    I appear to be having a problem with ASP.NET MVC in that, if I have more than one form on a page which uses the same name in each one, but as different types (radio/hidden/etc), then, when the first form posts (I choose the 'Date' radio button for instance), if the form is re-rendered (say as part of the results page), I seem to have the issue that the hidden value of the SearchType on the other forms is changed to the last radio button value (in this case, SearchType.Name). Update: I've seen this bug again today. It seems that this crops its head when you return a posted page and use MVC set hidden form tags with the Html helper. I've contacted Phil Haack about this, because I don't know where else to turn, and I don't believe that this should be expected behaviour as specified by David.

  • Creating a bundle - What's going wrong?

    Hello everyone, I've got a relatively simple one here. I'm making bundles to live inside the Resources folder of my application (and possibly in the Application Support folder). These bundles will contain template information for the data the application handles. I've constructed a bundle, with extension "booksprintstyle", and the directory structure is up to spec. I have an Info.plist all set and I think I've filled in all the values I need to. Do I need to change something in my App to have these folders-with-extensions recognized as bundle files, or am I missing something in my bundle structure? I noticed that some bundles have a file called PkgInfo; is that important?   • Javascript, autoload text box while typing....

    I am trying to do this but keep on failing. I have a text box. I have also an array of cities, and i want, while typing to display the cities that the user should be able to select. Like if the user is typing : Mu the drop down should display Mumbai \n MuMu ... etc Like the Tags below is doing ! Does someone have any ideas in how this can be accomplished ?
