  • Converting .eps to .jpg

    Our print team saves raster images as .eps files. We need to convert about 11000 .eps to .jpg. We are using ImageMagick (with Ghostprint) on Linux. The conversion occurs but the resulting .jpg is not the same size as the source .eps - It's about 1/2 the size. Probably a problem converting a vector to a raster. Any way to solve this?

  • I am unable to find login page for phpmyadmin

    I was using phpmyadmin(in Wamp) without a password for root. I thought to set a password for root and goto Privileges page and set a password for root. Now whenever I go to localhost/phpmyadmin page it gives me the following error. MySQL said: Documentation #1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO) phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server. I don't know that what is the problem. It is not showing me a login type page to enter a username and password. Any idea that what is the problem ? Thanks

  • How to avoid using this in a contructor

    I have this situation: interface MessageListener { void onMessageReceipt(Message message); } class MessageReceiver { MessageListener listener; public MessageReceiver(MessageListener listener, other arguments...) { this.listener = listener; } loop() { Message message = nextMessage(); listener.onMessageReceipt(message); } } and I want to avoid the following pattern: (Using the this in the Client constructor) class Client implements MessageListener { MessageReceiver receiver; MessageSender sender; public Client(...) { receiver = new MessageReceiver(this, other arguments...); sender = new Sender(...); } . . . @Override public void onMessageReceipt(Message message) { if(Message.isGood()) sender.send("Congrtulations"); else sender.send("Boooooooo"); } } The reason why i need the above functionality is because i want to call the sender inside the onMessageReceipt() function, for example to send a reply. But I dont want to pass the sender into a listener, so the only way I can think of is containing the sender in a class that implements the listener, hence the above resulting Client implementation. Is there a way to achive this without the use of 'this' in the constructor? It feels bizare and i dont like it, since i am passing myself to an object(MessageReceiver) before I am fully constructed. On the other hand, the MessageReceiver is not passed from outside, it is constructed inside, but does this 'purifies' the bizarre pattern? I am seeking for an alternative or an assurance of some kind that this is safe, or situations on which it might backfire on me.

  • Where do I find a list of changes and bug fixes for .Net classes from 3.5 -> 4.0?

    I'm having trouble finding a list of the changes and bug fixes that have been made in the .Net framework for .Net 4.0. They're not easy to find, but surely they exist somewhere? Specifically I want to find out what changes and updates have been made for System.Net.HttpWebRequest and System.Net.CookieContainer, as both are quite bugridden in 3.5 and I want to evaluate whether I should write my code for .Net 4.0 or if I should create some custom classes to work around their issues.

  • Where to use Controller.HttpContext

    Hi, In my base controller's constructor I am calling an extension method that checks for specific cookies on the client. Currently I am using System.Web.HttpContext.Current to get the current context. However, I am lead to believe that I should be using Controller.HttpContext since it is more testable and contains additional information about the request. However, Controller.HttpContext returns null on creation (believe this is by design) but also on Initialize and Execute methods (unless I use Routing.RequestContext.HttpContext?). So if I should be using Controller.HttpContext instead of HttpContext.Current, at what point is it available to me in a request? Thanks Ben

  • Counting leaf nodes in hierarchical tree

    This code fills a tree with values based their depths. But when traversing the tree, I cannot manage to determine the actual number of children. node-cnt is always 0. I've already tried node-parent-cnt but that gives me lots of warnings in Valgrind.   • iPhone Twitter Get UserId

    Hi, I am looking for a way to get a twitter users userid via their username. For example take http://twitter.com/AlySSa_miLAno (yes I know her twitter page off by heart lol) on the right hand side of the page is a link to her RSS feed: feed://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/26642006.rss In this context Alyssa's userid would be 26642006. Ideally I would like to avoid reading the full content of the page, as this could be quite expensive on a mobile device, so if anyone knows how to accomplish this using any Twitter/3rd party webservices that would be great.

  • How do I retrieve row ID from an MVCContrib HTML Grid?

    Hi, I currently have a product view page that contains an MVCContrib HTML Grid with a select link at the beginning of each row. If the select link is clicked, it takes me to a different page. My question is whether it is possible to retrieve the productID from the row that is selected and pass that to the next page. Maybe this is posible to do with a session variable but im not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.   • Traverse list to add elements, C#.

    I have a list of objects. Each object has an integer quantity and a DateTime variable which contains a month and year value. I'd like to traverse the list and pad the list by adding missing months (with quantity 0) so that all consecutive months are represented in the list. What would be the best way to accomplish this?   • Accessibility and usability issues when designing websites for older computer users

I was wondering what accessibility and usability issues should be taken into account when creating a website for such users, apart from obvious ones - such as bigger font, compatibility with current standards, straight-forward interface.     Alright, say I have this: <select id='list'> <option value='1'>Option A</option> <option value='2'>Option B</option> <option value='3'>Option C</option> </select> What would the selector look like if I wanted to get "Option B" when I have the value '2'. Please note that this is not asking how to get the selected text value, but just any one of them, whether selected or not, depending on the value attribute. I tried: $("#list[value='2']").text(); But it is not working.

    I may be working on mission impossible here, but I seem to be getting close. I want to extend a ASP.NET control, and I want my code to be unit testable. Also, I'd like to be able to fake behaviors of a real Label (namely things like ID generation, etc), which a real Label can't do in an nUnit host. Here a working example that makes assertions on something that depends on a real base class and something that doesn't-- in a more realistic unit test, the test would depend on both --i.e. an ID existing and some custom behavior. It doesn't give me the appropriate results. The vector a is supposed to hold the values from 1, 2, 3...up to s such that a = 12345..910111213... and print to output a[s].   • Unable to delete file locked by same process -- weird!

    I have an application written in PHP that uses a COM dll written in C#. The dll creates an image file by combining two other image files. The PHP script then takes over to do the housekeeping tasks of deleting the two source files and renaming the resulting combined file. The problem is the PHP script can't delete one of the source files because it's locked. The weird thing is that the process that has it locked is itself which in this case is the Apache Web Server. I have tried altering the C# dll to dispose of all bitmap and graphics objects prior to exiting, and yet the lock remains. My question is, what can I do to get the dll to let go and release the file locks. This is very frustrating.
