  • UIImageWriteToSavedPhotosAlbum with malloc_error

    I have an NIB file with a button. When I click this button, the setWallpaper: selector is called. Everything works as expected (the image is saved), excepte by the error thrown by malloc. malloc: *** error for object 0x184d000: pointer being freed was not allocated *** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug I've set a breakpoint at malloc_error_break, but I don't understand anything from the debugger. I couldn't even find the object 0x184d000. Does anyone know why is this happening? I had also tried to retain the UIImage before sending it to UIImageWriteToSavedPhotosAlbum, but without success.   • Multiple webroot folders with Jetty

    I'm using Jetty (version 6.1.22) to service a Java web application. I would like to make Jetty look in two different folders for web resources. Take this layout: +- project1 | +- src | +- main | +- webapp | +- first.jsp | +- project2 +- src +- main +- webapp +- second.jsp I would like to make Jetty serve both URLs: http://localhost/web/first.jsp http://localhost/web/second.jsp I tried starting Jetty like this: Server server = new Server(); SocketConnector connector = new SocketConnector(); connector.setPort(80); server.setConnectors(new Connector[] { connector }); WebAppContext contextWeb1 = new WebAppContext(); contextWeb1.setContextPath("/web"); contextWeb1.setWar("project1/src/main/webapp"); server.addHandler(contextWeb1); WebAppContext contextWeb2 = new WebAppContext(); contextWeb2.setContextPath("/web"); contextWeb2.setWar("project2/src/main/webapp"); server.addHandler(contextWeb2); server.start(); But it only serves first.jsp, and it returns 404 for second.jsp. How can I get this to work?

  • ASP.NET MVC Authorize by Subdomain

    I have what seems like a common issue with SaaS applications, but have not seen this question on here anywhere. I am using ASP.NET MVC with Forms Authentication. I have implemented a custom membership provider to handle logic, but have one issue (perhaps the issue is in my mental picture of the system). As with many SaaS apps, customers create accounts and use the app in a way that looks like they are the only ones present (they only see their items, users, etc.). In reality, there are generic controllers and views presenting data depending on the customer represented in the URL. When calling something like the MembershipProvider.ValidateUser, I have access to the user's customer affiliation in the User object - what I don't have is the context of the request to compare whether it is a data request for the same customer as the user. As an example, One company called ABC goes to abc.mysite.com Another company called XYZ goes to xyz.mysite.com When an ABC user calls http://abc.mysite.com/product/edit/12 I have an [Authorize] attribute on the Edit method in the ProductController to make sure he is signed in and has sufficient permission to do so. If that same ABC user tried to access http://xyz.mysite.com/product/edit/12 I would not want to validate him in the context of that call. In the ValidateUser of the MembershipProvider, I have the information about the user, but not about the request. I can tell that the user is from ABC, but I cannot tell that the request is for XYZ at that point in the code. How should I resolve this?

  • exception with Linq to SQL using sdf file

    Hi, I've set up a project with an SDF local database file and am trying to access it using an LINQ To SQL (".dbml") file. I have used the connection string provided by the sdf file and can instanciate the object with out a problem: thisDataContext = new MyDataContext(GetConnectionString()); However, whenever i try to access any information from it eg var collection = (from MyObject p in thisDataContext.MyTable select p); I get the error - "The table name is not valid. [ Token line number (if known) = 2,Token line offset (if known) = 14,Table name = Person ]" I am using Visual Studio 2008 SP1 .Net 3.5 and SQL 2008 CE. I gather something similar happened for SQL 2005 CE and a Hotfix was released, but i would have thought the fix would have been fixed in this version before release. Does anyone know the fix for this? Thanks

    intro Hello, I'm trying to develop some plugin or/*and* object in javascript, which will control some properties over some object. It will also use jQuery, to ease development. idea This is in pseudocode to give you an idea, since I can't really describe it in english with the right words, it's impossible to go and use google to find out what I want to use (and learn). I will have plugin (maybe object?) with some variables and methods: plugin hideshow(startupconfig){ var c, //collection add: function(what){ c += what; }, do: function(){ c.show().hide().stop(); //example code } } and I will use it this way (or sort-of): var p = new Plugin(); p .add($('p#simple')) .add($('p#simple2')) .do(); note I'm not really looking for jQuery plugin tutorials - it's more like usage of singleton pattern in document in javascript, jQuery is mentione only because it will be used to modify dom and simplify selectors, jQuery plugin maybe just for that one little function add. I'm looking for something, that will sit on top of my document and call functions from itselft based on timer, or user actions, or whatever. problems I don't really know where to start with construction of this object/plugin I'm not really sure how to maintain one variable, which is collection of jQuery objects (something like $('#simple, #simple2');) I would maybe like to extedn jQuery with $.fn.addToPlugin to use chaining of objects, but that should be simple (really just each( p.add($(this)); )) I hope I make any sense, ideas, links or advices appreciated.

  • JBoss Seam: components injected into POJOs, but not Session Beans

    I have a Seam component that handles login, with the name "authenticator": @Name("authenticator") public class AuthenticatorAction implements Authenticator { @PersistenceContext private EntityManager em; @In(required=false) @Out(required=false, scope = SESSION) private User user; public boolean authenticate(){ ... } } This works just fine, Seam injects the EntityManager instance. However, as soon as I add the @Stateless annotation, none of the injection happens! In this case, the EntityManager instance is null upon entry to the authenticate() method. Another interesting note is that with a separate stateful session bean I have, the Logger instance in that class is only injected if I make it static. If i have it non-static, it is not injected. Thats fine for the logger, but for stateless session beans like that, I obviously can't have static member variables for these components. I'm confused because this authenticator is exactly how it is in the Seam booking example: a stateless session bean with a private member variable being injected. Any ideas?

  • Emacs recursive project search

    I am switching to Emacs from TextMate. One feature of TextMate that I would really like to have in Emacs is the "Find in Project" search box that uses fuzzy matching. Emacs sort of has this with ido, but ido does not search recursively through child directories. It searches only within one directory. Is there a way to give ido a root directory and to search everything under it? Update: The questions below pertain to find-file-in-project.el from Michal Marczyk's answer. If anything in this message sounds obvious it's because I have used Emacs for less than one week. :-) As I understand it, project-local-variables lets me define things in a .emacs-project file that I keep in my project root. How do I point find-file-in-project to my project root? I am not familiar with regex syntax in Emacs Lisp. The default value for ffip-regexp is: ".*\\.\\(rb\\|js\\|css\\|yml\\|yaml\\|rhtml\\|erb\\|html\\|el\\)" I presume that I can just switch the extensions to the ones appropriate for my project. Could you explain the ffip-find-options? From the file: (defvar ffip-find-options "" "Extra options to pass to `find' when using find-file-in-project. Use this to exclude portions of your project: \"-not -regex \\".vendor.\\"\"") What does this mean exactly and how do I use it to exclude files/directories?   • Performing multiple fetches in Core Data within the same view

    I have my CD store setup and everything is working. Once my initial fetch is performed, I need to perform several fetches based on calculations using the data from my first fetch. The examples provided from Apple are great, and helped me get everything going but I'm struggling with executing successive fetches. Any suggestions, or tutorial links are appreciated. Table View loads data from CD store. When a user taps a row it pushes a detail view The detail view loads details from CD. [THE ABOVE STEPS ARE ALL WORKING] I perform several calculations on the data fetched in the detail view. I need to then perform several other fetches based on the results of my calculations.

  • Perfmon on Vista to monitor .Net CLR memory for dutch dummies

    OK... My managed .Net program is eating memory leading it to crash after a few hours with a OutOfMemoryException. I want to investigate this starting with using perfmon.exe. I found a description on how to do this here However, I have a dutch Vista and the terms used differ widely from the ones used in this blog and I find myself simply unable to set it up. Can someone point me the way by stating "first from the top,second from the left" how to set up a performance monitor for my .Net program?

  • Exception opening TAdoDataset: Arguments are of the wrong type, are out of acceptable range, or are

    I've been trying to debug the following problem for several weeks now - this method is called from several places within the same datamodule, but this exception (from the subject line of this post) only occurs when integers for a certain purpose (pickup orders vs. orders that we ship through a carrier) are used - and don't ask me how the application can tell the difference between one integer's purpose and another! Furthermore, I cannot duplicate this issue on my machine - the error occurs on a warehouse machine but not my own development machine, even when working with the same production database. I've tried every combination of TParameter properties that I can think of - this is the millionth TParameter I've created for my millionth dataset, and I've never encountered this error. I've even created a second dataset from scratch and removed all references to the original dataset in case some property of the original dataset in the .dfm might be corrupted, but the same error occurs under the same circumstances. The commandtext for this dataset is a simple select ValueA from TableName where ValueB = @ParameterB I'm about ready to do something extreme, such as writing a web service to look these values up - it feels right now as though I could destroy my machine, rebuild it, rewrite this entire application from scratch, and the application would still know to throw an exception whenever I try to look up a secondary value from a primary value, but only for pickup orders, and only from the one machine in the warehouse, but I'm probably missing something simple. So, any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

  • Displaying a collection of objects in a .Net grid on a smartphone without data binding.

    I know there's No DataGridView in the CF, but I've got a collection of in-memory objects that I want to display in a grid on a phone. Options I have thought of: Stick all the objects into a SQL-CE database and use a bound datagrid. This'll mean pulling my classes apart and separating the data from the functionality, which may or may not be a bad thing, but seems a little overkill. Write my own dataset and binding code so that I can bind my collection of objects to a bound datagrid. No idea how practical or possible this is, but seems like it's either do-able or impossible and I'm hoping someone here knows which! Find a third-party unbound grid control. The only one I've seen mentioned is OpenNetCF, which I'm downloading as I type. Are there others? Are any of them any good? Do something very nasty with dynamically loading labels and textboxes into a scrolling region on the form. REALLY don't want to go there. I'm not much experienced with data-bound controls other than occasionally making use of the very vanilla functionality in WinForms or ASP.Net, and that quite a long time ago, so if any of the above are silly, please be gentle. Check your spelling. Are the words in your query spelled correctly? Try using synonyms. Maybe what you're looking for uses slightly different words. Make your search more general. Try more general terms in place of specific ones. Try your search in a different scope. Different scopes can have different results.   • Is Tripp Lite a trusted brand for a UPS?

    I am looking to buy a rack mounted UPS that can take in 208V power and serve up 120V power. A basic APC unit that can do this is $4k. I have found a Tripp Lite model that will work for $2.5k. Is the extra $1.5k for the APC just for the brand? Or will the Tripp Lite serve me just as well? Thanks!

    Hi, We are moving to the dataceneter and planning to have tiered storage on EVA4400 - FC RAID 10 for SQL databases and RAID5 across 24 FATA 1TB disks form VMware ESX guests.HP is describing FATA disks as suitable for near online storage, however I am not convinced that 24 spindles will not be enough for running VMWare for 3 ESX servers. Does anyone has opinion on why this could be a such a bad idea?

  • apache permission errors

    I'm trying to set up Apache on a arch-linux box as a testing environment (I'm only using the localhost, not trying to serve anything to the greater web). When setting up Django with mod_wsgi, it recommended that I set up a WSGIScriptAlias from / to /usr/local/django/mysite/apache/django.wsgi . I've done this, as well as added the /usr/.../apache directory to my httpd.conf. When I try to access http://localhost I get a 403 forbidden error. I have no idea why this is happening. Things I've tried so far: 1) chown -R http .../apache 2) chmod -R 777 .../apache 3) using a simple Alias directive to host a static file from that directory. None of these have worked. I'm at a loss for what I'm doing wrong. Below is a relevant excerpt from my httpd.conf: Alias / /usr/local/django/mysite/apache <Directory "/usr/local/django/mysite/apache"> Order deny,allow Allow from all </Directory> So my question is: what am I doing wrong?
