  • SQL Azure and VS 2010B2 or SSMSE 2008

    Ok, I see that people have asked this question before, but I'm seeing some conflicting statements. Can I, or can I not, connect directly to my SQL Azure database from SSMSE 2008? I see posts from before November that the SSMS 2008 RC would be able to connect directly - so I don't understand why the newest SSMSE cannot connect. Is it just a problem with the Express version of SSMS? Where can I find the "non-Express" version, if there is one? I can connect to the database via the cancel and connect method - however, you don't get object explorer that way. I see that there are add-ons for VS.Net to allow you to explore the database but I wanted to do it with the base apps if possible. Thanks

  • Android ant script workaround?

    It appears that, in the transition between the Android 1.1 sdk and 1.5, Google radically changed how ant scripts using AAPT can build Android projects. Previously they support args allowing developers to specify source, res, asset, and a manifest for a particular build. Now, they seem to allow developers to specify only a single folder containing everything. While I could rewrite all our build scripts to work in this new way, I rather like our current system (as it doesn't require more hours of work that I don't have). To that end, has anyone figured out how to go back to the pre 1.5 method of ant script building? Further, has anyone found a rational reason for this change?

  • How can I successfully dechiper Instruments Messages for iPhone Leak

    Hi, I have a memory leak in my app. (This is the first of many I'm sure :() I've being trying to use Instruments to find it. Instruments gives me a lot of information but I think I must just not know how to use this information. What I did so far was 1) Run the app with Instruments 2) Memory Leak Occurs named general -stack 16 3) Find general - stack 16 in the object allocations part of instruments 4) The information here says the event type is a malloc, that webcore is responsible and the something named WKSetCurrentGraphicContext is the responsible caller. How can I use this given information to discover where in my code the leak is being caused?   • jquery select elements between two elements that are not siblings

[I've removed attributes, but it's a bit of auto-generated html] <img class="p"/> <div> hello world <p> <font><font size="2">text.<img class="p"/> some text</font></font> </p> <img class="p"/> <p> <font><font size="2">more text<img class="p"/> another piece of text </font></font> </p><img class="p"/> some text on the end </div> I need to apply some highlighting with backgrounds to all text that is between two closest [in the html code] img.p elements when hovering first of them. I have no idea how to do that. Lets say I hover the first img.p - it should highlight hello world and text. and nothing else. And now the worst part - I need the backgrounds to disappear on mouseleave. I need it to work with any HTML mess possible. The above is just an example and structure of the documents will differ. [tip. Processing the whole html before binding hover and putting some spans etc. is ok as long as it doesn't change the looks of the output document]

  • Using PHP Gettext Extension vs PHP Arrays in Multilingual Websites?

    So far the only 2 good things that I've seen about using gettext instead of arrays is that I don't have to create the "greeting" "sub-array" (or whatever its called). And I don't have to create a folder for the "default language". Are there other pros and cos of using gettext and php arrays for multilingual websites? USING GETTEXT: spanish/messages.po: #: test.php:3 msgid "Hello World!" msgstr "Hola Mundo" index.php: <?php echo _("Hello World!"); ?> index.php?lang=spanish: <?php echo _("Hello World!"); ?> turns to Hola Mundo USING PHP ARRAYS: lang.en.php <?php $lang = array( "greeting" => "Hello World", ); ?> lang.es.php <?php $lang = array( "greeting" => "Hola Mundo", ); ?> index.php: <?php echo $lang['greeting']; ?> greeting turns to Hello World index.php?lang=spanish <?php echo $lang['greeting']; ?> greeting turns to Hola Mundo (I first started with gettext, but it wasn't supported in my shared free hosting Zymic. I didn't want to use Zend_translate, I found it too complicated to my simple task, so I finally ended up using php define, but later on someone told me I should use arrays)

    Hello there, I have a number of enums in my application which are used as property type in some classes. What is the best way to store these values in database, as String or Int? FYI, I will also be mapping these attribute types using fluent Nhibernate.   • WordPress Problem with wp_enqueue_script

    I try to us wp_enqueue_script to load my javascript, here is my code: <?php wp_enqueue_script('slider','/wp-content/themes/less/js/slider.js',array('jquery'),'1.0'); ?> It's not working, when I look into the source, it turns to be: <script type='text/javascript' src='http://localhost/wp/wp-content/themes/less/js/slider.js?ver=2.9.2'></script> ?ver=2.9.2 is added to the end automatically, I guess this is the reason, how can I fix it.

    I don't know if I can use regex for this, but I want to replace something in this xml: <custom-attribute name="Attribute_1" dt:dt="string">Danny Boyle</custom-attribute> <custom-attribute name="DVD-releasedatum" dt:dt="string">06/10/1999</custom-attribute> should become <Attribute_1>Danny Boyle</Attribute_1> <DVD-releasedatum>06/10/1999</DVD-releasedatum> Removing this from the first tag isn't hard, but how can I close my newly formed tag?

  • Starting with versioning mysql schemata without overkill. Good solutions?

    I've arrived at the point where I realise that I must start versioning my database schemata and changes. I consequently read the existing posts on SO about that topic but I'm not sure how to proceed. I'm basically a one man company and not long ago I didn't even use version control for my code. I'm on a windows environment, using Aptana (IDE) and SVN (with Tortoise). I work on PHP/mysql projects. What's a efficient and sufficient (no overkill) way to version my database schemata? I do have a freelancer or two in some projects but I don't expect a lot of branching and merging going on. So basically I would like to keep track of concurrent schemata to my code revisions. [edit] Momentary solution: for the moment I decided I will just make a schema dump plus one with the necessary initial data whenever I'm going to commit a tag (stable version). That seems to be just enough for me at the current stage.[/edit] [edit2]plus I'm now also using a third file called increments.sql where I put all the changes with dates, etc. to make it easy to trace the change history in one file. from time to time I integrate the changes into the two other files and empty the increments.sql[/edit]

  • Running Montavista Linux kernel 2.6.21 on XEN

    I've been assigned the task of getting our MontaVista Linux (2.6.21 kernel) running on Xen. We'll be running Xen in -hvm- mode. My Xen version is 3.4.0 (linux kernel 2.6.18) and am unable to run MontaVista Linux (kernel 2.6.21) in hvm mode. Does anyone have suggestions?

  • iSCSI, failover and XenServer

    I have an iSCSI fail over implementation setup so if one of my storage units fails the other takes over immediately (it also runs the NFS shares). When fail over occurs, volumes are exported, the IP is switched to the other machine and the targets are reconfigured. The fail over of the storage system itself works just fine. I use NexentaStor for my filer. When I do a test (manual) fail over of my storage the following occurs: Note: I run the admin VM's on NFS and customer based VM's on iSCSI All NFS based VM's remain up and working perfectly through the failover and after All VM 's running on iSCSI eventually report the following: An error about not being able to write to a particular block An error about journaling not working Then the file system goes RO To get the VM's working again I have to do the following: Force shutdown of the "broken" VM's. Detach the iSCSI SR Re-attach the iSCSI SR Boot the VM on a different server (5 in my pool) If I don't boot on a different server I get this error "Internal error: Failure("The VDI <uuid&gt; is already attached in RW mode; it can't be attached in RO mode!")" The only way I have found to fix that error is to reboot the entire server it was running on previously which is obviously a huge pain. Currently multipathing is NOT enabled (but can be and the same thing still occurs). I have edited much of the /etc/iscsid.conf file to work with the timeout settings but to no avail. In short, my storage fails over properly but XenServer does not keep the connection alive. As a thought, the error that shows up in #4 above might be the ultimate cause and fixing that would fix everything? Any help would be appreciated more than you know.

  • What Wireless Router/ADSL Modem to get? N-band a must!!

    I'm looking for a Dual-N band Router OR ADSL Gateway and I'd like some recommendations. Situation: I have a 802.11b/g ADSL gateway provided by my telco, but the WIFI signal won't cover all the house (especially the living-room, so my tv-connected Mac Mini has poor to no internet access). So I'm looking to either replace the DSL modem with a N-enabled one, or to add a Router to the mix. I've had a modem+router setup for many years, and I know the advantatges (double NAT, double FW = more security) and issues (more complex to troubleshoot, two possible points of failure), so I'd rather live with a single (ADSL Gateway) device, if possible. Requirements: Dual-N Band (300 Mbs WIFI) 1 GB Ethernet ports ADSL2+ support (if it's a ADSL gateway, which would be desirable) "Best" range and speed possible Nice to have: USB port to share disks/printers on the network Media streaming I've been a long time user of Linksys, so googling around I found the WRT610N (http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/products/WRT610N) for a "Pure Router" perspective, and it's one of those that Linksys styles "N++" (http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/promo/Promotion-Go-Wireless?stepname=Promotion-Step-Go-Wireless-High-Performance) But I haven't been able to find similar "ADSL" gateways. I've found the WAG320N, but there is little to no info in the Linksys site (i.e., i don't know if it's Dual Band, or if it has GB ethernet) Any opinions/recommendations of other products/suggestions are more than welcome.

    I'm looking for a WiFi N Gigabit router. I'll be using an iPod Touch 2G and a 2009 17" MacBook Pro over WiFi, and I need at least 4 gigabit ethernet ports plus a WAN port. What do people recommend? In particular, are there any compatibility issues between different WiFi N drafts that would limit the speed of the MacBook, and is it worth getting dual-band?
