• JQuery: how to write a selector to find elements with a class ending with a given substring?

  I use JQuery for my web application. I don't know how to write a selector for this situation. <a class="abc def xyz-delete-confirm efg">text</a> <a class="abc def delete-confirm">text</a> I need to find all links that has a class ending with "-delete-confirm" or has a class called "delete-confirm". I know how to handle the situation of having a class called "delete-confirm". How about the "-delete-confirm situation"? Can I have a single selector covering two situations? Thanks for any input!   Well, i got this oop: abstract class TestSystemUtils { abstract public function __run(); /* utils funcs */ } class TestSystem extends TestSystemUtils { protected $body; protected $out; function __construct() { } public function __run() { } } I got a directory with many modules, each module is a class that extends TestSystem but i don't want to include all them modules then in method __run i make a dbconnection get these modules that will be used, but in this point idk the right way to 'include' these files i can use __autoload func but idk if i should call these classes inside the class TestSystem or not, all modules need to use these two variables 'body' and 'out' ... • DurandalJS vs AngularJS?

  I'm looking for a JS framework to build an SPA and found DurandalJS and AngularJS. Can anyone compare these two frameworks? I did find many articles that compares AngularJS and KnockoutJS, and they say AngularJS is more than data binding, so I think DurandalJS may be the one to compare. I did a little research on AngularJS, it is good but one thing is bad: the $ prefix does not work when minified, although there is an ugly workaround. And someone said Twitter Bootstrap does not work well with it (I didn't check). For DurandalJS, I still cannot find the samples (http://durandaljs.com/documentation/Understanding-the-Samples/), so it's hard to say. PS: are they working well with TypeScript? Best regards, Zach

• Shared static classes between AppDomains in loaded library code

  I'm working on a program in which I want to do something similar to what the Photon Server system does: Offer a common "API" class library, which contains common data classes, enumerations, and interfaces for working with the host program. Have client programs (class libraries) reference this DLL and implement interfaces listed within it. Have the "host" application load built DLL client libraries into separate AppDomains and reference the interfaces that lie within to have polymorphic client code from within a dll file. I have something like this worked out: a class library that contains common code, but I've run into the following question How should I handle static classes? Should I add a method that is called by the host program to synchronize data? How do I keep a static class the same between AppDomains? Should I discard these classes in favor of better interfaces between the code levels? And in general, how do I share data between these loaded AppDomains?

• What advantage does Monad give us over an Applicative?

  I've read this article, but didn't understand last section. The author says that Monad gives us context sensitivity, but it's possible to achieve the same result using only an Applicative instance: let maybeAge = (\futureYear birthYear -> if futureYear < birthYear then yearDiff birthYear futureYear else yearDiff futureYear birthYear) <$> (readMay futureYearString) <*> (readMay birthYearString) It's uglier for sure, but beside that I don't see why we need Monad. Can anyone clear this up for me?

  I tried to edit a service file in /etc/systemd/system/aria2.service [Unit] Description=start aria2 Wants=network.target Before=network.target [Service] Type=oneshot ExecStart=/usr/bin/aria2c --enable-rpc --rpc-listen-all=true --rpc-allow-origin-all -c -D [Install] WantedBy=multi-user.target Then run "systemctl enable aria2" & "systemctl start" and there is no error. But I can't grep 'aria2c' in process list after reboot. Who can give me a sample service file for it? Thanks

• Get Highest Res Favicon

  I'm making a website that needs to dynamically obtain the favicon of sites upon request. I've found a few api's that can accomplish this fairly well, and so far I'm liking http://www.fvicon.com/. The final image for my website will be 64x64px, and some websites such as Google and Wordpress have nice images of this size that are easily retrieved via this api. Though, of course, most websites only have a 16x16 favicon image and scaling that image to 64x64 has very bad quality loss. Examples: (high res) http://a.fvicon.com/wordpress.com?format=png&width=64&height=64 (low res) http://a.fvicon.com/yahoo.com?format=png&width=64&height=64 Keeping this in mind, I'm planning on somehow determining whether a high-res image is available and, if so, the website will use this image. If not, I want to use a pre-made 64x64 icon with the smaller icon layered over it. What I'm having trouble with is determining if there is a high res favicon available or not. Also, I'm curious if there's a better approach to this situation. I'd rather not use smaller images (64x64 works out really well for this project). The lowest res I'm willing to drop to is 48x48 but even then there will be a significant quality loss for scaling up 16x16 favicons. Any ideas? • can't open large rss remote files

  I'm setting up a rss feed in vbulletin to import the entries into the forum. The rss is very large (2000+ entries) and it is hosted on a different server (i have control on it). Problem is that i cannot add this feed into vBulletin, i am getting a weird error. If i edit the feed and remove half of the entries then it will work correctly, which makes me think it is because the file is too large. I suppose i have to change a setting in php.ini or something to allow bigger files to be opened, but what do i need to look for ? Thanks I'm on Debian.

  I am in trouble. I placed and advt on a website in 2012 which said he has 950,000 unique visits each month so early in 2012 i advertised with them. The advertised didn't worked out so checked in 2-3 months time and i saw that the unique visitors on their site was 8,000 at that time.I immediately close the account I dont remember which site i was checking the unique visitors.That advt company has filed a dispute against me. So is there any tool that give me stats of 2012 of any website. i tried google trends but it doesnt show statistics ..

• My server hostname doesn't work? [on hold]

  I've got a raspberry pi running raspbian server edition. It's a modified debian that runs well on the rPi. My problem is that the only way I can ssh into it with putty is through the static ip. My router doesn't recognize the hostname; it shows the mac address as the name. This causes the pi not to show my website online (I think). The only way I've gotten it to work is using my other linux server to forward using virtual hosts, and that has to use the ip address, too. However, now that I have my other server off, the website doesn't work and I can't ssh (or find it anywhere on the network) using the hostname.

• 403 forbidden .htaccess issue

  I have this .htaccess file in one directory on my site: <limit GET> order deny,allow deny from all allow from 123.456.789 </limit> ErrorDocument 403 403.html It blocks everyone except for one IP. However, when an invalid IP visits, it does not show the 403.html file, but it just shows the text "403.html" on the page. When I try to directly visit the 403.html page on the directory, it gets the same message too.

• What's the right way to create a Ubuntu user whose home directory is /var/www/SITE?

  First of, I need to state I'm a complete ignorant when it comes to server administration on Ubuntu, and I'm doing what I can. I have been trying to do this for hours with no luck. Basically, I want to create a Ubuntu user whose home directory is /var/www/SITE, and prefered it is chroot'd to it. The chroot part is not so important right now, as first I prefer to make anything work. The user should be able to upload files here and the webserver (www-data user?) should be able to pick them up with no problem. I was able to create the user and give it the home directory /var/www/SITE. (the user is "anders"). I gave him a password, and "anders" can connect to FTP just fine and upload files. But here's where things don't work: While my user can upload files to that /var/www/SITE directory, when I access the webpage on my browser I get a Forbidden error. Note that anders is also a member of the www-data group. I can fix this by running sudo chmod g+s /var/www/SITE/* anders -R but this is of course not ideal. Ideally the files should "work" as soon as I upload them. What's the right way to fix this? If it matters (don't think so), I'm editing my files in Coda 2 and anders is the user for it.

  I have a SonicWall TZ 215 running SonicOS Enhanced 5.8.1.2-6o. I have configured the L2TP VPN using the default crypto suite ESP: 3DES/HMAC SHA1 (IKE). Proposals are as such: IKE (Phase 1) Proposal DH Group: Group 2 Encryption: 3DES Authentication: SHA1 Life Time (seconds): 28800 Ipsec (Phase 2) Proposal Protocol: ESP Encryption: 3DES Authentication: SHA1 Enable Perfect Forward Secrecy DISABLED Life Time (seconds): 28800 When attempting to connect via my Mac OS X client I get an authentication error. It appears to pass the pre-authentication but fails to complete. I am at a complete loss. I reconfigured from scratch multiple times...used simple usernames and passwords to verify this wasn't a miskeyed password issue. • Has anyone used tools like (Chef, Salt, Puppet, CfEngine) to configure a 2008 Win Server with Sql?

  I have been looking into tools to automate the creation of servers. For two different reasons: Production Development machines I love the idea of the immutable server. I have seen the tools demoed and used successfully on *nix boxes running Rails or Lamp etc. Has anyone found a good way to do this in the Microsoft stack? I would like to get in on the fun and create scripts that will install Windows, patch it according to specification, deploy Sql Server create scripts to build out a database and just for fun deploy SharePoint and configure it, and then deploy a SharePoint solution to it. I can get part of the way, install Windows manually, install Sql Server manually, use Powershell to do all the configuration and setup. Install SharePoint and configure part of it, then powershell for the rest of the configuration and deploying a solution. I would love to have the ability to run one script though, or at least one unified process. I can, and have mostly used VM template images and then instantiated them, but the creation of the template is usually a manual step.

For example, 10.0.0.17.55 specifies that the nameserver at 10.0.0.17 uses port 55. But it doesn't work, in /etc/resolv.conf or files under /etc/resolver/. 208.67.222.222.5353 Can I specify non-default port number for nameserver in osx? Update: osx don't use /etc/resolve.conf, but use files under /etc/resolver/. I have wrote a file dev with content '127.0.0.1' to route all dns queries for *.dev domains to a local dns server (127.0.0.). But I cannot specify dns server's port here. (It uses 53 anyway) Maybe there is no way to specify port number under osx?

• Automatically Applying Security Updates for AWS Elastic Beanstalk

  I've been a fan of Heroku since it's earliest days. But I like the fact that AWS Elastic Beanstalk gives you more control over the characteristics of the instances. One thing I love about Heroku is the fact that I can deploy an app and not worry about managing it. I am assuming Heroku is ensuring all OS security updates are timely applied. I just need to make sure my app is secure. My initial research on Beanstalk shows that although it builds and configures the instances for you, after that it moves to a more manual management process. Security updates won't automatically be applied to the instances. It seems there are two areas of concerns: New AMI releases - As new AMI releases hit it seems we would want to run the latest (presumably most secure). But my research seems to indicate you need to manually launch a new setup to see the latest AMI version and then create a new environment to use that new version. Is there a better automated way of rotating your instances into new AMI releases? In between releases there will be security updates released for packages. Seems we want to upgrade those as well. My research seems to indicate people install commands to occasionally run a yum update. But since new instances are created/destroyed based on usage it seems that the new instances would not always have the updates (i.e. the time between the instance creation and the first yum update). So occasionally you will have instances that aren't patched. And you are also going to have instances constantly patching themselves until the new AMI release is applied. My other concern is that perhaps these security updates haven't gone through Amazon's own review (like the AMI releases do) and it might break my app to automatically update them. I know Dreamhost once had a 12 hour outage because they were applying debian updates completely automatically without any review. I want to make sure the same thing doesn't happen to me. So my question is does Amazon provide a way to offer fully managed PaaS like Heroku? Or is AWS Elastic Beanstalk really more of just a install script and after that you are on your own (other than the monitoring and deployment tools they provide)?

  I want to reset administrator password on Windows Server 2003. OS installed on VMware server VMware Server version 2.0.1. And problem is this: when i try to boot from live cd, after boot disk with Windows not detected. I tried to use Windows Admin Hack - Linux Boot; Hirens.BootCD.10.4; ophcrack-xp-livecd-2.3.1.iso None of these programs did not see the hard drive! Any ideas? Thank! ADD: I want to reset LOCAL admin password, not domain. And this computer are not domain controller.
