• How do I turn off all the password prompts?

  I've been using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS since release and am trying to figure out a couple things about all of these passwords and key-ring prompts that I've just been living with for a while. Ever since install it seems that every time I boot up my computer and want to do anything (ie. use the internet, use a internet browser, install something, delete something, pick my nose) I'm always prompted for either a normal password entry or a key-ring password entry. Is there anyway to turn off all of this "security" and tell my Ubuntu that it can trust what I'm doing and go take a shower? Thank You in advance, barkerto

• How to edit Synaptics Touchpad values in Ubuntu 12.04? No xorg.conf file!

  After I installed Ubuntu 12.04 got some issues with my touchpad. I reported the problem and finally today a guy replied here - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/992330 It seems that the solution was good because I edited HorizHysteresis and VertHysteresis using synclient: synclient VertHysteresis=48 and synclient HorizHysteresis=48 To see if they were really edited I run into terminal synclient and just seen there the values I added. Everything is running perfectly till now. But after I restarted Ubuntu the values are gone and rolled back to default. A guy told me to edit the xorg.conf file but there is no xorg.conf file in etc/X11. Thanks and hope someone can give me a good solution.

• Authenticate user that has no password?

  I've set up my user account so that no password is required to login and I need to install some updates. However when prompted for the password, it says authentication failed if I leave the box blank. I don't have a password, how am I supposed to authenticate? EDIT I tried the method in Reset lost administrative(root) password but it came out with an error: Authentication token manipulation error password unchanged. What does this mean?

  Is it possible to make Ubuntu remember the password for any program after the first time it asks. I get asked for the password for Synaptic, for making a usb bootable, for connecting to the wifi network, for opening gparted and even to go to the bathroom. Is there a way to just tell it to ask once forever or just tell it to not ask (Without going to root account. I want to keep using my own account)

• How can I optimise ext4 for reliability?

  As ext4 was introduced as more reliable than ext3 with block journals, is there any chance to suppose it 100% reliable? What if enabling block journaling on it, which is disabled by default? As friend's guide to explain my case in more detail: I have an embedded linux device, after installation keyboard and monitor is detached and it works standalone. My duty is to make sure it has reliable file-system so with errors there is no way for manual correct faults on device. I can't force my customer to use a ups with each device to ensure no fault by power-failure. What more can ext4 offer me besides block journaling? Thanks in advance.

  All my WordPress post URLs generate subdirectories with duplicate content and I do not know what regular expression to use to consistently 301 redirect domain.com/category/post/random-number/ to domain.com/category/post/ and domain.com/category/post/random-number/another-random-number/ also to domain.com/category/post/.   It's a bit subjective but helpful and on-topic IMO, mayebe should be made community wiki I've been in contact with some guest bloggers lately which are interested in publishing posts on my website's blog, so far I've done a regular weekly blog and had a guy marketing it, but he's too busy to do more work right now. Now I need someone to market these blog posts on social media, the last guy I just got by recommendation from a friend, but now I need to find one myself. What criteria should I check when it comes to social media marketers? Do the number of followers and fans on their accounts and/or the number of votes they get for articles they market mean anything, or is impossible to know if it's spam? • MySQL can only log in as root, even after creating new users with their own database

  Problem: I just set up a Debian Wheezy installation for testing, and installed the LAMP packages and PMA. I can log in as root with my pre-defined password, create/edit/delete both databases and users. The problem comes when I create a new user 'something', set a password for it, and grant it all privileges on a table 'something' (same as the username). Upon connecting, it denies access to the user. • Learning OpenGL GLSL - VAO buffer problems?

  I've just started digging through OpenGL and GLSL, and now stumbled on something I can't get my head around this one!? I've stepped back to loading a simple cube and using a simple shader on it, but the result is triangles drawn incorrectly and/or missing.   I wonder how I can displaying vehicle damage. I am talking about an good way to show damage on screen. Witch kind of model are common in games and what are the benefits of them. What is state of the art? One way i can imagine is to save a set of textures (normal/color/lightmaps, etc) to a state of the car (normal, damage, burnt out) and switch or blending them. But is this really good without changing the model? Another way i was thinking about is preparing animations for different locations on my car, something like damage on the front, on the leftside/rightside or on the back. And start blending the specific animation. But is this working with good textures? Whats about physik engines? Is it usefull to use it for deforming vertexdata? i think losing parts of my car (doors, sirens, weapons) can looks really nice. my game is a kind of rts in a top down view. vehicles are not the really most importend units (its no racing game), but i have quite a lot in. thx for help

• How to Use a Windows App with Embeded files and folders to copy to a destination. In C#

  I am trying to write a small application, whose only purpose is to copy some folders and .cs source files into a user specified Directory, I can do it easy enough by simply having the application look for the files and folders in its own install directory then copy them to thier destination Directory, but I was wondering if its possible to Embed the Folders and Files into the Application, so that when you run the application it creates or copies the folders and files from the exe app directly to the install directory, rather than searching for them in the apps install directory then copying them over. Basically Im trying to only have a single exe file rather than having an exe file and a bunch of folders and files along side it. Is this possible to do with just a Windows Form App without using an actual Installer Class?

• Paged UIScrollView with UIImageViews only showing first UIImageVIew

  I am working on a paged UIScrollView, but it only wants to show the first UIImageView within it. I add each UIImageView at an offset of the width of the scroll view, so that should create each page. When run, it says the scroll view is the right number of pages, but the images don't show. • Mongoose Not Creating Indexes

  I have been trying all afternoon to get my node.js application to create MongoDB indexes properly. I am using the Mongoose ODM and in my schema definition below I have the username field set to a unique index. The collection and document all get created properly, it's just the indexes that aren't working. All the documentation says that the ensureIndex command should be run at startup to create any indexes, but none are being made. I'm using MongoLab for hosting if that matters. I have also repeatedly dropped the collection. • javascript won't execute nested for loop

  thanks in advance for all your help! i'm fairly new to javascript, but i have a fairly strong background in java, so i thought i would try it out on this project i'm working on. essentially, what i'm trying to do is read data from an xml file and create the html code for the page i'm making. i used the script from w3schools found here. I've altered it and gotten it to pull the data from my own xml and even to do the more basic generation of the html code i need.   I have a site that plays a stream. My problem is that everything is working great except on additional button clicks. Specifically when they get success (video plays) and they exit back out, they don't get any other messages if they click another button. It is as if the click event is not triggered. Do I need to be doing something to the click handler to respond?

  I'm playing around with this tutorial that uses Sinatra, backbone.js, and mongodb for the database. It's my first time using mongo. As far as I understand it the app uses both local storage and a database. it has these routes for the database. I started the mongo shell ./bin/mongo I selected the database 'use mydb' and then looking at the docs (http://www.mongodb.org/display/DOCS/Tutorial) I tried commands such as > var cursor = db.things.find(); > while (cursor.hasNext()) printjson(cursor.next()); but they didn't return anything.

But when I try to use list comprehension to create the list: row = ['a' for range in xrange(3)] list_of_lists = [row for range in xrange(3)] list_of_lists[1][1] = 'b' for row in list_of_lists: print row It results in an entire column of items in the list being changed. Why is this? How can I achieve the desired effect with list comprehension?

• Working with Decimal fields in SSIS

  I'm using SQL Server 2008 w/SP2. I've got an incoming decimal(9,2) field incoming through my OLE DB transformation to my recordset destination transformation. It's like it's reading it as something other than a decimal? I don't know..I'm not an SSIS guru. So continuing on...the problem I have starts here with me trying to stuff the value into a variable for this decimal field. In a foreach loop, I have a variable to represent this decimal field so I can work with it. The first problem that I believe is pretty well known is SSIS variables do not have a decimal type. And from my own testing and what I've read out there, people are using type object for the variable to make SSIS "happy" with decimal values? It makes mine happy. But, then in my foreach loop, I have a for loop. And inside that I'm using an E*xecute SQL Task transformation*. In it, I need to create a parameter mapping to my variable so I can work with that decimal field in my T-SQL call in here. So now I see a type decimal for the parameter and use it and set that to point to my variable. When I run SSIS and it hits my SQL call, I get this in my output window.: The type is not supported.DBTYPE_DECIMAL So I am hitting a wall here. All I wanna do is work with a decimal!!!

  actually i have simple problem but i forget how to solve it.. :D i have data on table with following format 01 Johson 01 Craig 01 Johson 02 Daniel 01 Johson 03 Abbey 02 Dawson 01 Brown 02 Dawson 02 Agust 03 Brick 01 Chev 03 Brick 01 Flinch so i want it to become an array like this 01 Johson => 01 Craig ``````````````02 Daniel ```````````````03 Abey ` etc... how to iterate trough the data and make it array like that... i'm newby in PHP :))
