  • Syntax Highlighting for Gherkin (Cucumber Language)

    SyntaxHighlighter is the de facto standard for syntax highlighting on the web. I am currently working on a tool for publishing BDD specifications on the web and I want syntax highlighting. Unfortunately, SyntaxHighlighter does not support Gherkin, the language Cucumber and SpecFlow use to define BDD specifications. Writing new language parsers for SyntaxHighlighter is very easy, so I implemented one for Gherkin. Here is what a syntax highlighted Gherkin file looks like: # A comment here Feature: Some terse yet descriptive text of what is desired In order to realize a named business value As a explicit system actor I want to gain some beneficial outcome which furthers the goal @secretlabel Scenario: Some determinable business situation Given some precondition And some other precondition When some action by the actor And some other action And yet another action Then some testable outcome is achieved And something else we can check happens too Like all SyntaxHighlighter brushes to use this one you need to install the brush (shBrushGherkin.js). I have also used a custom theme to get it just the way I wanted it (shThemeGherkin.css). If you would like to use my Gherkin brush you may download the code and example page.

  • Ubuntu 9.10 Virtual Machine does not respond on VMWare Fusion

    I've just installed Ubuntu 9.10 Edition on my VMWare Fusion. host is Mac. I've installed successfully and able to use . Then, I've shut down and reopen again. Then, it's no longer response. like that I've check Setting. it shows that running. I've waited for long time but no response yet. Any idea better then reinstalling again ?

  • bash: expanding variables with spaces

    i have a file called physics 1b.sh in bash, if i try x="physics 1b" grep "string" "$x".sh grep complains: grep: physics 1b: No such file or directory. However, when i do grep "string" physics\ 1b.sh it works fine. So i guess the problem is something to do with the variable not being expanded to include the backslash that grep needs to recognize the space. How do i get this to work? using bash 3.2, mac os 10.6.

  • Can a BufferedImage be written to file any format?

    Is it correct that if we have a BufferedImage object in java, we could potentially write it out in ANY format using ImageIO.write (if we have a Writer object for the same)? I tried writing a BufferedImage object into a jpg file, it outputted an empty image file however when i tried writing it in to a png file, it worked fine.

  • ASP.NET MVC Routing - Redirect to aspx?

    This seems like it should be easy, but for some reason I'm having no luck. I'm migrating an existing WebForms app to MVC, so I need to keep the root of the site pointing to my existing aspx pages for now and only apply routing to named routes. Here's what I have: public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}"); routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.aspx/{*pathInfo}"); RouteTable.Routes.Add( "Root", new Route("", new DefaultRouteHandler()) ); routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Calendar2", action = "Index", id = "" } // Parameter defaults ); } So aspx pages should be ignored, and the default root url should be handled by this handler: public class DefaultRouteHandler : IRouteHandler { public IHttpHandler GetHttpHandler(RequestContext requestContext) { return System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath( "~/Dashboard/default.aspx", typeof(Page)) as IHttpHandler; } } This seems to work OK, but the resulting YPOD gives me this: Multiple controls with the same ID '__Page' were found. Trace requires that controls have unique IDs. which seems to imply that the page is somehow getting rendered twice. If I simply type in the url to my dashboard page directly it works fine (no routing, no error). I have no idea why the handler code would be doing anything differently. Bottom line -- I'd like to simply redirect the root url path to an aspx of my choosing -- can anyone shed some light?

  • Securing Elmah RSS Feeds in ASP.NET website

    I followed the answer to this question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1245364/securing-elmah-in-asp-net-website to restrict access to the elmah handler. However, it seems that adding an RSS feed to Outlook for the URL elmah.axd/rss or elmah.axd/digestrss bypasses the authentication. What's the point of securing the handler if someone can guess the RSS URL and subscribe to a feed of the error log?

What else has changed in modern processors and mainstream frameworks? And is XML still slow? You can't find an RDBMS that doesn't claim some kind of native XML support these days; haven't they got it faster - a single pass to index it for example - yet?

The problem started as I kept seeing rn at the beginnning of every post made via IE. That was due to stripslashes function.
