  • trivial linux sound playback

    The classical C program is something like: int main() { fprintf(stderr, "hello world\n"); } a classical OpenGL program is: open up a window setup ortho view draw a colored triangle Now, I want to do the most basic thing for sound in Linux. I want to: 1) open up speakers 2) send a bunch of data, meant to be interpreted at 40Khz, 3) have pseakers play said data no midi, no instruments, ... just playing back raw data What is the easiest way to do this in a C program? [and what libraries; what's the equiv to OpenGL for sound?] Thanks!

  • JQuery post to php

    Why is it that I can never get JQuery serialize to work properly. I guess I must be missing something. I can serialize a form data and it shows in an alert: var forminfo = $j('#frmuserinfo').serialize(); alert(forminfo); I then post to my PHP page thus: $j.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "cv-user-process.php", data: "forminfo="+forminfo, cache: false, complete: function(data) { } }); But WHENEVER (not the first time) I try to insert/update the data in the DB I only ever get 1 varaible passed: Here is my PHP script: $testit = mysql_query("UPDATE cv_usersmeta SET inputtest='".$_POST['forminfo']."' WHERE user='X'"); the data passed only ever gets the first variable. why? I think it is more the way I deal with the php but it drives me nuts and always takes me far too long to find where I am going wrong.

  • UISplitViewController Cannot Change the Master View Controller?

    I am trying to change the master view controller (that appears in the popover in portrait, and on the left side in landscape) in a UISplitViewController. I'd like to switch between the master view controller being one of two different UIViewControllers (depending on an action taken elsewhere in my application). I am using the following: mySplitViewController.viewControllers = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:newMasterController, detailController, nil]; This correctly changes the master viewcontroller as you would expect in landscape mode. However it does not seem to change the viewcontroller used for the popover in portrait mode. I notice that the barbuttonitem to show this master view controller is just calling showMasterInPopover: on the splitviewcontroller, and so would expect it to work in portrait mode as well, but it does not. In fact, I can set the master view controller, see the new viewController correctly in landscape mode, rotate back to portrait, and the viewcontroller used in the popover is still the old one. Is this a bug?

  • Millions of anonymous ASP.Net profiles!?

    Hi all, some advice needed! Our website receives approximately 50,000 hits a day, and we use anonymous ASP.Net membership profiles/users, this is resulting in millions (4.5m currently) of "active" profiles and the database is 'crawling', we have a nightly task that cleans up all the inactive ones. There is no way that we have 4.5m unique visitors (our county population is only 1/2 million), could this be caused by crawlers and spiders? Also, if we have to live with this huge number of profiles is there anyway of optimising the DB? Thanks Kev

    You can use DPInst (Driver Package Installer) to install driver files for your device on Windows Operating Systems. DPInst.exe is part of DIFx (Driver Install Framework tools) which comes along with the Windows Driver Kit (WDK). You can find DPInst redistributable inside the redist\DIFx\DPInst folder of the WDK. Using DPInst to install driver: 1)  http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff553601(VS.85).aspx  2) http://blogs.technet.com/svengruenitz/archive/2008/07/02/driver-installation-and-updating-made-easy-dpinst-exe.aspx How to ? 1. Copy dpinst.exe to the folder where the driver files (sys, inf, dll) reside. 2. Optionally create a dpinst.xml file which is used to configure dpinst (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff550803(VS.85).aspx) If your drivers are not signed you must use the <legacyMode/> tag in dpinst.xml. 3. Run dpinst.exe to install drivers using a 'device driver update' wizard.

  • JavaMe Bluetooth service registration

    Hello, I am trying to develope an application that offers a service via bluetooth. Everything works fine in the emulator but as soon I install it on a real device (6120/X6 Nokia) the service cannot be found. If I search for already registered services such as OBEX they are found. So I think it has something to do with the registration.     I have datatable and I am storing the records in that datatable. Now one of the column in the datatable is type of DateTime.That column I added by code Table.Columns.Add(new DataColumn("TradingDate",System.Type.GetType("System.DateTime"))); Now I want to sort the records datewise in ascending order. I have used following code but the records are not sorted. DataView view = new DataView(Table); view.Sort = "TradingDate ASC"; dataGridView1.DataSource=view.Table; But records are not sorted so how to do it ?

  • Google MAP API v3: Link markers to an external list

    Given is a database with locations, we feed those tho the google map api and all points are displayed. Now there is a list of this location right next to the google map. How can i link the places in the list to the dots on the map? Like this: http://www.local.ch/en/q/ubs.html I want to light up the point on the map on the list item hover and open the info-box by clicking on the list item.   • Session variables return completely after unsetting.

    I have a script that should log the user out of the site. It unsets all $_SESSION and $_COOKIE variables related to the login data of the user. But somehow, it seems impossible to log out. I checked the $_SESSION array at the end of the logout script, and at the beginning of each page. At the end of the logout script it says 'array()', but when I click the home button - or any link on the site - the full session data is back again and I don't know where it comes from. This is how I try to unset the session data: unset($_SESSION); unset($_COOKIE["usid"]); unset($_COOKIE["pw"]); unset($_COOKIE["adm"]); -- I don't know how to put it on different lines, but it's not that hard to read. Why do these data keep coming back?!

  • WCF: Manually configuring Binding and Endpoint causes SerciveChannel Faulted State

    Hi there, I've created a ComVisible assembly to be used in a classic-asp application. The assembly should act as a wcf client and connect to a wcf service host (inside a windows service) on the same machine using named pipes. The wcf service host works fine with other clients, so the problem must be within this assembly. In order to get things work I added a service reference to the ComVisible assembly and proxy classes and the corresponding app.config settings were generated for me. Everything fine so far except that the app config would not be recognized when doing an CreateObject with my assembly in the asp code.   • Printing UTF-16 strings in JSP is outputted as HTML encoding (&#xxxx)

    Hello, When I try to print a UTF-16 string in JSP, specifically Hebrew, it ends up showing up as HTML encoding (&#xxxx). This problem occurs because I print an array of variables into the web page and then parse them. The variables are all UTF-16 strings, but once the servlet prints the variables, it becomes translated to HTML encoding. Is there any way to get rid of the encoding? Thanks in advance Edit for a bit more background: The JSP that I'm printing is not the entirety of the page. It's used in a manner I don't quite understand by a server app which prints the JSPs output into its built in page. As a result, I can't, for instance, use a tag because the will have already been placed somewhere else. This isn't a frame or anything like that. It's just redirected output.

  • Problem using unicode in URLs with cgi.PATH_INFO in ColdFusion

    Hi there, My ColdFusion (MX7) site has search functionality which appends the search term to the URL e.g. http://www.example.com/search.cfm/searchterm. The problem I'm running into is this is a multilingual site, so the search term may be in another language e.g. ??????? leading to a search URL such as http://www.example.com/search.cfm/??????? The problem is when I come to retrieve the search term from the URL. I'm using cgi.PATH_INFO to retrieve the path of the search page and the search term and extracting the search term from this e.g. /search.cfm/searchterm however, when unicode characters are used in the search they are converted to question marks e.g. /search.cfm/??????. These appear actual question marks, rather than the browser not being able to format unicode characters, or them being mangled on output. I can't find any information about whether ColdFusion supports unicode in the URL, or how I can go about resolving this and getting hold of the complete URL in some way - does anyone have any ideas?     There is a CLOB field we are trying to insert html content and sometimes we are getting an error as: ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column When i used nhibernate profiler and copy the query to Toad, it asked me to enter values for variables called "NBSP"! Is this means that nhibernate doesnt escape special chars? if so how can i tell it to escape special chars globally?

    I'm starting with an address for an Exchange 2007 server: [email protected] And I attempted to send an autodiscover request, as documented at MSDN. I attempted to use the generic autodiscover address documented at the TechNet White Paper. So, using curl on PHP, I sent the following request: <Autodiscover xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/exchange/autodiscover/outlook/requestschema/2006"> <Request> <EMailAddress>[email protected]</EMailAddress> <AcceptableResponseSchema> http://schemas.microsoft.com/exchange/autodiscover/outlook/responseschema/2006a </AcceptableResponseSchema> </Request> </Autodiscover> to the following URL: https://domain.exchangeserver.org/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml But got no response, just an eventual timeout. I also tried: https://autodiscover.domain.exchangeserver.org/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml With the same result. Now, since my larger goal is to use Autodiscover with Exchange Web Services, and since all of the EWS URLs start with the same sub-domain as the Outlook Web Access address, I thought I'd give that a try: OWA: https://wmail.domain.exchangeserver.org So I tried: https://wmail.domain.exchangeserver.org/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml And sure enough, I got back the expected response. However, I only knew the OWA sub-domain because it's the server I have access to and that I'm using to test everything. I would not know it for sure or be able to guess it if this were a live app and the user was entering in their own Exchange email. I know that whatever generic autodiscover settings must be turned on, because I can enter: [email protected] into Apple Mail on Snow Leopard and it finds everything without trouble. So the question is... Should https://domain.exchangeserver.org/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml have worked, and I just missed a step when trying to connect to it? Or, Is there some trick (maybe involving pinging the email address?) that Apple Mail and other clients use to resolve the address to the OWA subdomain before sending the autodiscover request? Thanks to anyone who knows or can take a wild guess.

  • How to use two templates for ListViewItem using WPF

    Hi, I would like to have a ListView that would have have items similar to Microsoft Outlook inbox with items arranged by Conversations (see the attached photo). An item can either be a simple textblock containing the topic of the conversation (on the photo this are the blue lines) or it can contain email information specified by the ListView's header. It would be best if the items with conversation topics would be push buttons so that emails inside that conversation could be shown or hidden by pressing this button. Any ideas how can I achieve this? Do I specify two ListViewItem templates? If yes, how do I tell in the code which template to use for each item? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!   • Silverlight IDE for latest version (May 2010)

    In 2008 Artur Carvalho asked for an Alternative IDE for Silverlight and was told to look at Visual Studio Express. Is that still the valid answer in 2010 or are there other IDEs one should consider (cost/ OS it runs on / stability)? I'm trying to get a feel for silverlight development before commiting cash. So I don't need enterprize level tools or a license to distribute .. Would MonoDevelop and Moonlight be an option?

  • Looking for python lib to manage remote tasks

    Hi, I have server with django on it, this server runs some manage.py commands and update database. Now I need to move some of this tasks to different servers. I don't want to allow remote db access and need some tool\lib to be able to start task on remote servers by main server's command and update tasks code/add new tasks. I have ssh access to every server, all servers run under debian and all code in python. I was thiking about creating my own xmpp based solution(server sends messages to slave servers with commands to execute, like "update task", "run task"), or maybe some low-level ssh based solution where main server logs to slave servers and executes bash commands. But I would be happy to hear any advices.
