  • Qt/C++ event loop exception handling

    I am having an application heavily based on QT and on a lot of third party libs. THese happen to throw some exceptions in several cases. In a native Qt App this causes the application to abort or terminate. Often the main data model is still intact as I am keeping it in pure Qt with no external data. So I am thinking that I could also just recover by telling the user that there has occured an error in this an that process and he should save now or even decide to continue working on the main model. Currently the program jsut silently exits without even telling a story. Please help.

  • Touchscreen using sound input?

    Hi, i don't really know if it is actually possible, but i believe that it can be made. How possible is it to make a program that recognizes different sound bouncing from the screen and turn it into a position that will obviously be later fed to the mouse. I know that it sounds kind of dumb, but lately i've been noticing that a very dull, strong sound is made when touching the screen, and that sound varies when doing so at different positions. Probably the microphone "hears" differently because the screen acts as a drum with the casing. Anyways, what do you think, anyone has any experience programming with sound?

  • XSLT Document function returns empty result on Maven POM

    Greetings! I want to extract some properties from different Maven POMs in a XSLT via the document function. The script itself works fine but the document function returns an empty result for the POM as long as I have the xmlns="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0" in the project tag. If I remove it, everything works fine. Any idea how the make this work while leaving the xmlns attribute where it belongs or why this doesn't work with the attribute in place?   • Jquery 'permission denied' error for JSON call between HTTP and HTTPS

    Hi, I have a login control on my homepage (http://www.xyz.com) which makes a JSON login request over HTTPS (https://www.xyz.com/json.ashx). This seems to work fine in Firefox and IE7. But IE8 gives a 'permission denied' error for jquery.min.js I have verified that this call works fine if its solely over http or https. Is the call considered 'cross-domain' if it is between the http and https sections of the site? How can I resolve this problem? Thanks, Murali

    Setup: 64bit Linux 64bit SUN Jvm 1.6.0_20 Weblogic 10.3 Is it possible to run Weblogic 10.3 in this setup with a maximum heap size of 8gb? We have recived answers from oracle support that states that it might not be possible to address more than 4gb with this setup. Please submit any official links that support any statements that it is possible to run this setup with more than 4gb of heap size. We can not find any documentation of any limits of heap size when running with this setup. Thanx

  • Blocking yandex.ru bot

    I want to block all request from yandex.ru search bot. It is very traffic intensive (2GB/day). I first blocked one C class IP range, but it seems this bot appear from different IP ranges. For example: spider31.yandex.ru - 77.88.26.27 spider79.yandex.ru - 95.108.155.251 etc.. I can put some deny in robots.txt but not sure if it respect this. I am thinking of blocking a list of IP ranges. Can somebody suggest some general solution.

  • Blocking internet poker applications

    I 'look after' the wireless internet for a cafe where I live, and we've noticed that there's quite a substantial slow down of internet speeds when certain users are playing internet poker. I've put in filters to block any HTTP traffic referencing gambling and poker etc, however I want to be able to block any applications (i.e. poker clients) which don't use HTTP. I've tried searching around for a list of poker clients and perhaps their ports, but have had no real luck. Does anyone know what these might be?

    hi, I've a problem to configure database settings in Drupal. I will propose here some sample data: Database Mysql: Database: databaseName User: user Password: password Server: server.com Server Choice: mysqldb2 (in phpmyadmin I have this option and I can choose between mysqldb1 and mysqldb2 to access to the mysql server) The error message I get is: The mysql error was: Access denied for user: 'user@localhost' (Using password: YES). I've tried the following lines in settings.php but I always get the same error message: $db_url = 'mysql://user:password@localhost/databaseName'; $db_url = 'mysql://user:password@localhost/databaseName/mysqldb2'; The user and password work in phpmyadmin so I'm sure they are correct. thanks

  • The benefits and hassles of moving entirely to a WPF Project

    Hi, I have a project that i started as a WinForms application as that was the format i was confortable with at the time. I have since started dabbling in WPF an introduced some WPF UserControls (mainly grids) into my project and absolutely love them. The question i have is, is there any real advantage to me changing the UI Project of my solution into a purely WPF project, and get rid of any WinForms? I am fully aware that each format suits a certain environment, and you wouldnt be able to give a definitive answer without knowing more of the details, but i would like to know peoples opinions, and if anyone has done a silimar thing of converting an existing WinForms App into a WPF frontend, and any observations they made in doing so.   • How can I save a screenshot directly to a file in Windows?

    In Windows XP, one can press Alt-PrintScreen to copy an image of the active window, or Ctrl-PrintScreen to copy an image of the full desktop. This can then be pasted into applications that accept images: Photoshop, Microsoft Word, etc. I'm wondering: Is there a way to save the screenshot directly to a file? Do I really have to open Photoshop simply to paste an image, then save it?
