  • SQL script to show addition to tables

    Hey all I have a 2 MS SQL 2005 databases,a TEST and DEV database. Now our developer added some extra columns,tables etc in the DEV database.This created differences in the TEST database.is there a script i can write tha can tell me what the changes where in the DEV database between certain dates...i found a couple of tools but they are quite basic and dont really generate change scripts etc. Also tried the change script function in management studio but it seems to be working when the change is first made and not later. Appreciate your thoughts. A.

  • Android SlidingDrawer in Eclipse IDE

    I am trying to design an application for Android that makes use of the SlidingDrawer, but I have not been able to use the form (layout?) designer to add this element without producing an exception "IllegalArgumentException: The handle attribute is required and must refer to a valid child." As of March 17th, I believe I have everything up to date (Eclipse, and the Android SDK). All the SDK components have been installed. I have created two Android virtual devices, One for version 1.0, and one for version 2.1 when I figured out that 1.0 didn't support the SlidingDrawer. I have tried importing the samples provided in the SDK, as well as several other layouts from the web that I have found, all of which produce this same exception. My programming background is mostly C++, and I consider myself to be a novice programmer, so feel free to talk to me as if I were an idiot so that I will understand. ^^;

  • Test priorities on delayed_job plugin in rails.

    I want to test how priorities are working in the delayed_job plugin. Im using the mailit app from railscasts. I think i want to send 100 messages with a high priority and 100 with a lower priority. And i want to see if the messages with a lower priority will be delivered on time or they will be put aside. How can i do a test like this.

  • Problem updating values in combobox in vb.net

    I have this code, but I have a problem. When I update but do not really made any changes to the value and press the update button, the data becomes null. And it will seem that I deleted the value. I've taught of a solution, that is to add both combobox1.selectedtext and combobox1.selecteditem to the function. But it doesn't work. combobox1.selecteditem is working when you try to alter the values when you update. But will save a null value when you don't alter the values using the combobox combobox1.selectedtext will save the data into the database even without altering.   • Ninject and Custom Controller Factory

    I'm using MEF with ASP.NET MVC as demonstrated at http://blog.maartenballiauw.be/post/2009/06/17/Revised-ASPNET-MVC-and-the-Managed-Extensibility-Framework-(MEF).aspx. When I try to use Ninject, it seems that nothing gets injected. I did some debugging, and when I reverted to the original controller factory the injection worked. What needs to be changed, or what does Ninject need in terms of controller factories for it to work?

  • Browser history back with scrollable div

    When I Jump to section 1 & 2 everything works fine, and the browsers I tested (IE8, FF3.6, Chrome 5.0.342.3) scrolls down to the respective anchor in the div. But when I press the browser history back button the div won't scroll back up.   • What are your favourite free fonts?

    As super users, using nicer fonts is often an important issue. Now that many sites are using @font-face to embed fonts in the page, having the same fonts installed locally means less downloading, and producing documents with custom fonts often look nicer. What are your favourite fonts? Ideally fonts that have unicode support and that have proper ligatures and kerning. Please add pictures if possible!

  • Deriving streambuf or basic_ostringstream?

    Hi, I want to derive a stringstream so that I can use the operator<< to construct a message which will then be thrown. The API would look like: error("some text") << " more text " << 42 << std::endl; This should do a throw "some text more text 42" So what I did is make an errorbuf (inheriting from streambuf) which overloads the 'overflow' method and then create an ostream(&errorbuf). I wonder if I shouldn't instead inherit from basic_ostringstream or something...

    I need to convert CString to BYTE array. I don't know why, but everything that I found in internet does not work :( For example, I have CString str = _T("string"); I've been trying so 1) BYTE *pbBuffer = (BYTE*)(LPCTSTR)str; 2) BYTE *pbBuffer = new BYTE[str.GetLength()+1]; memcpy(pbBuffer, (VOID*)(LPCTSTR)StrRegID, str.GetLength()); 3) BYTE *pbBuffer = (BYTE*)str.GetString(); And always pbBuffer contains just first letter of str DWORD dwBufferLen = strlen((char *)pbBuffer)+1; is 2 But if I use const string: BYTE *pbBuffer = (BYTE*)"string"; pbBuffer contains whole string Where is my mistake?

  • network windows programming problem

    I want to write program which will connect to a network for some amount of time in seconds. Then it disconnects from it and it should be that much faster than the other application (?) should not feel it is disconnected. Which layer should I program at? I know how to disconnect and connect to the network so any suggestion will be helpful...... thanks in advance....

    Hi guys, my first post here :) I'm having a small trouble with a small but boring problem. I have a view, with a NavigationController. I load in the NC a simple view. Inside this view there's abutton where I fire the presentModalView... in the main view, not on NC, but it's parent view: ABVIEW NC NEWVIEW new attach a presentModalView... on ABVIEW, so [abview present...]; No problem till now. When it's the time to dismiss, after the temporary window (let's calls it NOTES) disappear, my ABVIEW with all the subviews change Y position from 0 to 20, the same height of the status bar. I was looking everywhere and I'm sure it's a stupid thing, but I miss a bit of knowledge here and I have no idea where to find the solution. thanks in advance!

  • geo-indexing: efficiently calculating proximity based on latitude/longitude

    My simple web app (WSGI, Python) supports text queries to find items in the database. Now I'd like to extend this to allow for queries like "find all items within 1 mile of {lat,long}". Of course that's a complex job if efficiency is a concern, so I'm thinking of a dedicated external module that does indexing for geo-coordinates - sort of like Lucene would for text. I assume a generic component like this already exists, but haven't been able to find anything so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Google App Engine: JDO does the job, JPA does not

    I have setup a project using both Jdo and Jpa. I used Jpa Annotation to Declare my Entity. Then I setup my testCases based on LocalTestHelper (from Google App Engine Documentation). When I run the test, a call to makePersistent of Jdo:PersistenceManager is perfectly OK; a call to persist of Jpa:EntityManager raised an error: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Type ("org.seamoo.persistence.jpa.model.ExampleModel") is not that of an entity but needs to be for this operation at org.datanucleus.jpa.EntityManagerImpl.assertEntity(EntityManagerImpl.java:888) at org.datanucleus.jpa.EntityManagerImpl.persist(EntityManagerImpl.java:385) Caused by: org.datanucleus.exceptions.NoPersistenceInformationException: The class "org.seamoo.persistence.jpa.model.ExampleModel" is required to be persistable yet no Meta-Data/Annotations can be found for this class. Please check that the Meta-Data/annotations is defined in a valid file location. at org.datanucleus.ObjectManagerImpl.assertClassPersistable(ObjectManagerImpl.java:3894) at org.datanucleus.jpa.EntityManagerImpl.assertEntity(EntityManagerImpl.java:884) ... 27 more How can it be the case?
