  • Disregard a particular TD element

    Below I have the code that allows me to edit a table row inline. However it edits ALL of the TDs within that row. My problem, along with the code, are stated below. Any help is appreciated. <tbody> <tr> <th scope="row">Test</th> <td class="amount">$124</td> <td class="amount" id="" >$154</td> <td class="diff">- 754</td> </tr> </tbody> The above table is just a sample. What I have been trying to accomplish is, to simply edit the TDs within that particular row, but I need it to disregard the diff TD.   • Add an easing to jQuery animate() function.

  • Setting WCF service for multiple client calls

    Hi all, I have made a WCF service which is defined like this: [ServiceBehavior(InstanceContextMode = InstanceContextMode.Single, ConcurrencyMode = ConcurrencyMode.Multiple)] binding is done using netTcpBinding. We support 50+ clients that call the server from time to time. Each client opens a channel using channelfactory once it is loaded and uses that channel for all calls (creates the channel and proxy only once). we have built a small load tester that imitates the client by calling the server by 50 different threads at once (using 50 different channels). when we run this tester, after the 10th client tries to connect, all other client fail connecting. We have set throttling to 100. My questions are: 1. is it correct for each client to create a channel and use it through the client life time? or, do i need to use a using statement for each call to the server (create and distroy a new channel for each call). 2. does the service have a limit of channel connections to it? other then throttling? thanks alot, Guy.

  • file layout and setuptools configuration for the python bit of a multi-language library

    So we're writing a full-text search framework MongoDb. MongoDB is pretty much javascript-native, so we wrote the javascript library first, and it works. Now I'm trying to write a python framework for it, which will be partially in python, but partially use those same stored javascript functions - the javascript functions are an intrinsic part of the library. On the other hand, the javascript framework does not depend on python. since they are pretty intertwined it seems like it's worthwhile keeping them in the same repository. I'm trying to work out a way of structuring the whole project to give the javascript and python frameworks equal status (maybe a ruby driver or whatever in the future?), but still allow the python library to install nicely. Currently it looks like this: (simplified a little) javascript/jstest/test1.js javascript/mongo-fulltext/search.js javascript/mongo-fulltext/util.js python/docs/indext.rst python/tests/search_test.py python/tests/__init__.py python/mongofulltextsearch/__init__.py python/mongofulltextsearch/mongo_search.py python/mongofulltextsearch/util.py python/setup.py I've skipped out a few files for simplicity, but you get the general idea; it' a pretty much standard python project... except that it depends critcally ona whole bunch of javascript which is stored in a sibling directory tree. What's the preferred setup for dealing with this kind of thing when it comes to setuptools? I can work out how to use package_data etc to install data files that live inside my python project as per the setuptools docs. The problem is if i want to use setuptools to install stuff, including the javascript files from outside the python code tree, and then also access them in a consistent way when I'm developing the python code and when it is easy_installed to someone's site. Is that supported behaviour for setuptools? Should i be using paver or distutils2 or Distribute or something? (basic distutils is not an option; the whole reason I'm doing this is to enable requirements tracking) How should i be reading the contents of those files into python scripts?

  • How to parse strings representing xml.dom.minidom nodes in python?

    I have a collection of nodes xml.dom.Node objects created using xml.dom.minidom. I store them (individually) in a database by converting them to a string using the toxml() method of a the Node object. The problem is that I'd sometimes like to be able to convert them back to the appropriate Node object using a parser of some kind. As far as I can see the various libraries shipped with python use Expat which won't parse a string like '' or indeed anything which is not a correct xml string. So, does anyone have any ideas? I realise I could pickle the nodes in some way and then unpickle them, but that feels unpleasant and I'd much rather be storing in a form I can read for maintenance purposes. Surely there is something that will do this?

  • Minimal deployment of couchdb on windows

    Hi, I'd like to use couchdb for a client-only application on Windows (the document-oriented structure and the synchronization features would be perfect for me). There is a Windows installer package here, but the installer itself has about 45 MB, when installed it takes more than 100 MB on my HD. This is far to much for my (relatively small) application. I noticed that there are a lot of "src" directories in the couchdb/lib subdirs. I've been experimenting with removing some of them and it didn't seem to break the system. Now I'm wondering what would be the "minimal" set of files (preferably binary-only) that would be needed in order to run a local couchdb server. Are there already any efforts to create such a deployment-friendly installer? Or could anyone give some (even very general) hints how to create it? How much disk space would be minimally required for such an installation? Needless to say that I'm not at all familiar with neither the couchdb internals nor the Erlang system :). But perhaps I could figure out if I got some direction (or I could stop trying if someone told me that this would be impossible or didn't make sense at all ...) Thanks anyway!

The code is just for fun, I don't want official support and such. After coding Visual Basic on windows mobile, I really want to code C# on Android, whether directly using some sort of editor if exists, or compiling it on a PC then installing it on Android.   • How do I reduce RAM usage on my server?

    I have recently launched a site that is very popular but I am having trouble with scalability. My site makes heavy use of FFmpeg and at peak times RAM usage hits the 2 GB point quickly and the swap file starts getting used. CPU usage starts rising too. Users complain that the site is slow. They say this because all FFmpeg instances run very slow because of the number running at the same time. Users make use of FFmpeg on my server in real time. Is there anything I can consider or do to ease down the usage of the server and RAM just shooting up? Maybe there is something better than FFmpeg (!). Is the only solution "throwing some cash" at a more powerful server? I have given little information, please ask for more, so this problem can be solved.

  • Rails - Multiple top level domains and a single session/cookie

    Hello all, I've been struggling with this for quite awhile and haven't been able to find a solution. I need a user to be able to view multiple top level domains with a single login. My understanding is that this needs to be set in environment.rb and called with before_dispatch. This is what I've come up with: require 'activesupport' require 'dispatcher' module ActionController class Dispatcher def set_session_domain ActionController::Base.session_options.update :session_domain => "#{@request.host}" end before_dispatch :set_session_domain end end However, this does not seem to be working when I try and pull the values from session[:session_domain].   • SQL LIKE question

    I was wondering if there's a drawback (other than bad practice) to using something like this SELECT * FROM my_table WHERE id LIKE '1'; where id is an integer. I know you're supposed to use id=1 but I am writing a java program and if everything can use LIKE it'll be a lot easier for me. Also, so far, everything works fine; I get the correct query results, so if there is no drawback I will continue doing it like this. edit: I am using MySQL.

    I am working on python and biopython right now. I have a file upload form and whatever file is uploaded suppose(abc.fasta) then i want to pass same name in execute (abc.fasta) function parameter and display function parameter (abc.aln). Workflow goes like this. ----If submit is not true then display only header and form part --- if submit is true then call execute() and get file name from form input --- Then display the save file result in the same page.   • Sharing an Apache configuration between testing vs. production

    I have a personal web site with a slightly nontrivial Apache configuration. I test changes on my personal machine before uploading them to the server. The path to the files on disk and the root URL of the site are of course different between the test and production conditions, and they occur many places in the configuration (especially <Directory blocks for special locations which have scripts or no directory listing or ...). What is the best way to share the common elements of the configuration, to make sure that my production environment matches my test environment as closely as possible? What I've thought of is to use SetEnv to store the paths for the current machine in environment variables, then Include a common configuration file with ${} everywhere there's something machine specific. Any hazards of this method?
