SSH Connection Error : ssh_exchange_identification: read: Connection reset by peer

Restarted the SSH Service on Server and then restarted the server/client. But the issues is not resolved. Please help to fix the issue. Thanks in Advance, -Senthil

connecting hostname to server

I have an ubuntu server installed on my server with virtualmin webmin. everything is good the server itself....I can connect to localhost and the virtualmin manager (http://localhost:10000). the problem is, I can't connect to it from a client computer. For example when I enter the IP address of the server, its shows me 403 forbidden error (sometimes its shows the homepage right)...but the virtualmin manager could not open... if my website is example.com with this ip: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, i can't connect to example.com:10000 or xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:10000 what should I do?

HAProxy reqrep remove URI on backend request

real quick question regarding HAProxy reqrep. I am trying to rewrite/replace the request that gets sent to the backend. I have the following example domain and URIs http://domain/web1 http://domain/web2 I want web1 to go to backend webfarm1, and web2 to go to webfarm2. Currently this does happen. However I want to strip off the web1 or web2 URI when the request is sent to the backend. I am following the steps in this blog to set up rsyslog + logstash + graylog2 and I can't figure out how to replace the @source_host attribute in logstash using the mutate - replace filter. In the exmaple the author replaces his @source_host with a string value but I'd like to use the actual value that is parsed from in this case a syslog. mutate { type => loc1 replace => ["@source_host", "loc1"] } mutate { type => loc2 replace => ["@source_host", "loc2"] } How do I actually maintain the original source host in my logs?

Inconsistent DHCP replies with Windows 2008R2 DHCP server

I've got a Windows 2008R2 standard server running DHCP services. We've noticed that certain clients are receiving inconsistent DHCP replies. We have over 175 Windows workstations in this VLAN that don't seem to have trouble getting DHCP leases. However, PXE-booting clients trying to reach our DHCP server are able to get a lease inconsistently. Additionally, we tried using the "dhcping" tool against our DHCP server and found that roughly two of every three requests time out with "no answer" -- and this holds true when we set the timeout value on dhcping to 20seconds. After a failed attempt, however, we may get a dhcp lease reply immediately with dhcping. This leads me to believe that this issue isn't confined to PXE booting clients, but something more systemic with my LAN layer2 or DHCP. And that possibly my 175 windows clients are experiencing this in some form without my knowledge. We have over 30% of our scope available so the addresses are there. I was unable to find anything in the Windows server "DHCP-Server" log. Of course, my goal is to have my DHCP server reply to every request that it receives on the LAN!

Can't install Nuget or other extension to VS2012 on Win8

When I try to install any extension for visual studio ultimate 2012 on my new installation of Winodws 8 I get this exception : System.IO.FileNotFoundException: The system cannot find the file specified. Ultrabook graphics card for gaming

I want to get a Windows 8 "ultrabook" that I can also use for gaming. Most seem to have Intel HD Graphics 4000 (integrated) or NVIDIA GeForce GT 620M (dedicated). From experience, are they any good? Things I enjoy playing are Call of Duty, Fifa and Skyrim for example. I'm looking for a device that will work on the next generation of those games as well, so it shouldn't just barely work on the current versions that exist now. So, would those two cards suffice? Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you.

How to open the Quota Entries list for a given drive from a shortcut or command line?

Is it possible to open the Quota Entries list for a given drive from a shortcut or the command line in Windows? And if so, how? I'm not talking about managing quota entries from the command line (fsutil quota), I'm looking for a way to get directly to the Quota Entries GUI rather than going through My Computer → right-click on a drive → Properties → Quota tab → Show Quota Settings → Quota Entries... I managed to find out (using Process Explorer) that the backend process is dllhost.exe, and the DLL in question should be dskquoui.dll, so it should be possible to run it directly with rundll32.exe, but I'm not sure of the exact syntax. Any ideas?

Cannot Copy Pictures w/ text or w/o from web pages anymore word in office starter 2010

This is something new. I had been able to copy text and pictures from websites into a microsoft word office starter 2010. I have gone into advanced settings to no avail. I have verified that under paste special html is selected. I have reviewed the help sections and questions and they all tell me to select html under paste special but again it isn't working either. Also I used to have 3 formatting options under paste and am now only having two options. I did have a problem with my computer last night and I am wondering if something re-set itself..will you help?

Run command automatically as root after login

I'm using evrouter to simulate keypresses from my mouses extra buttons. It works great but I need to run the command with sudo to make it work so I can't just use my DE to handle autostart. How to cleanup tmp folder safely on Linux

I use RAM for my tmpfs /tmp, 2GB, to be exact. Normally, this is enough but sometimes, processes create files in there and fail to cleanup after themselves. This can happen if they crash. I need to delete these orphaned tmp files or else future process will run out of space on /tmp. How can I safely garbage collect /tmp? Some people do it by checking last modification timestamp, but this approach is unsafe because there can be long-running processes that still need those files. A safer approach is to combine the last modification timestamp condition with the condition that no process has a file handle for the file. Is there a program/script/etc that embodies this approach or some other approach that is also safe? Incidentally, does Linux/Unix allow a mode of file opening with creation wherein the created file is deleted when the creating process terminates, even if it's from a crash?

I saw on one site that the new Windows 8 could load ISO images without the help of other programs. Is Windows 8 creating a new drive for every ISO? Or does it have one fake drive to load all ISOS in? How can I know if a file is really an ISO inside? Some PCs use UltraISO to open ISOs. If I just enter the ISO name in DOS, it is loading in UltraISO. How can I load the ISO only in Windows 8 on all PCs, whether they have UltraISO or not? How can I unload ISOs?

Why won't Windows use the other CPU cores?

In Windows Task Manager the Performance tab shows the first CPU maxed out, the other 7 just idling along with the occasional spike. What gives? More info: I've got 8GB and only 4.5GB are being used. The Processes tab has no indication of any process hogging processing power. In fact System Idle Process is 98-99. When I program stuff and have like 8 to 12 applications going (several directly unrelated to programming of course) my computer slows to a crawl. Sysyem Info: Intel Core i7-2600K Processor (quad-core with hyper-threading), 8GB RAM, Intel BOXDZ68BC LGA 1155 Motherboard, 500GB HDD

Is it possible to install a discrete mobility card on a laptop without a graphics card already?

To be specific: Can I: Install a discrete graphics card on a laptop that does not come with a discrete graphics card? Teach windows 8 to use the discrete card over the integrated graphics? To me this is the only downside of my laptop and I would not mind getting any graphics card as long as it is better than the integrated laptop card (an Intel 3000) The laptop if you need more information is an Asus U46E-BAL6.

So far I've successfully launched the configure, but when I type make, I get the following error, after some time (there's a lot which compile successfully): ld: unknown/unsupported architecture name for: -arch i686 /usr/bin/libtool: internal link edit command failed make[2]: *** [libgcc_s.dylib] Error 1 make[1]: *** [libgcc.a] Error 2 make: *** [all-gcc] Error 2 Is there a way to tell gcc not to compile itself for the i686 architecture? How to disable the Windows 8 lock screen, without disabling the password?

Windows 8 now has a slide-away lock screen like so many other OSes designed for a touch interface. However on a non-touch PC/laptop this is just an extra annoying step in logging in. There is an option to disable it, but this also turns off the password requirement. Is there a way to disable the lock screen, and have Windows wake up directly to the password entry screen? Often when pressing a key to hide it there will be a noticeable delay before password entry is accepted, and no indicator, so one can easily lose the first character or so that they attempt to type, thus failing the login attempt.

Rsync and Windows 7

Can someone give me any tips on setting up some sort of Rsync server/client on Windows 7 to run rsync between both my web hosting server, and a backup server that I have running Ubuntu? I've tried setting it up with this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvwdkZLNtnA Using copssh, and cwrsync. Ran into all sorts of troubles, including not being able to get cwrsync to run (it installs properly, but never starts up), and copssh not generating the keys at all. The guy was running Windows Server 2003, though, so I'm guessing the problems could just be because I'm running Windows 7. I've been trying to set it up with my Windows machine being the rsync server, and then Ubuntu and my webhosting VPS as the clients, but I realize it may be easier (and make more sense) to just setup the rsync server on Ubuntu, and then an rsync client on Windows 7? Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm thinking of using this guide: http://www.gaztronics.net/rsync.php It seems a bit outdated, though.

I have a program that automatically copies files to a directory, and if it creates a duplicate it will name it like so: file with duplicate.xxx file with duplicate - 1.xxx file with duplicate - 2.xxx I need a way to delete all the duplicates with a windows batch file. Something along the lines of: FOR %f IN (C:\files\*.*) DO del "%f - 1" However, that will not work because that would resolve to file with duplicate - 1.xxx - 1

Reading mp3 metadata?

I am planing on writing an application using Vala. Its purposed is to import mp3 files from a location and rename them if necessary. The renaming information should be provided by the ID3 tags in the mp3 file such as the title and the number of the song. My target platform is Ubuntu (Linux). Why are source control systems still mostly backed with files?

It seems that more source control systems still use files as the means of storing the version data. Vault and TFS use Sql Server as their data store, which I would think would be better for data consistency as well as speed. So why is it that SVN, I believe GIT, CVS, etc still use the file system as essentially a database, (I ask this question as we had our SVN server just corrupt itself during a normal commit) instead of using actual database software (MSSQL, Oracle, Postgre, etc)?

I'm building a standard infographic where you mouse over a region and the image changes as you move. For instance, imagine a map of the world, and when you mouse over a country, that country glows and a panel shows statistics about that country. The implementation is to have a separate image for the glowing country, and a div element with the statistics, and the code shows these additional elements on a hover over the country. The question is: what should this do on a tablet, where there's no hover event? What's a good alternative navigation metaphor for this kind of situation on touch-only devices?

Which numeral systems are useful in computer science?

I am wondering which numeral system different programmers are using, or would use if their language has support for them. As an example, in C++ we can use: Octal by prefixing with 0 (e.g. 0377) Decimal by default (e.g. 255) Hexadecimal by prefixing with 0x (e.g. 0xff) When working with bitmask, I am using hexadecimal but would sometimes want to be able to express binary numbers directly. I know some programming language support it with 0b syntax (e.g. 0b11111111). Is there any other numeric system useful in some computer science domain (e.g. cryptography, codecs, 3D graphics, etc)?
