• Android : List View or SPinner

  Team, I would like to know how to display a List View or SPinner using key and value pairs in Android platform. For example take Contacts Contact has id, First Name, LastName, i would like to display First Name and Last Name in the list view or in the spinner, id1, lastname1, firstname1 id2, lastname2, firstname2 id3, lastname3, firstname3 Once the user selected any value in the List view or spin list, I need to get the key value from the List view or spinner. How to do it? Any help or examples is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ramesh

• Fluent NHibernate mapping List<Point> as value to single column

  I have this class: public class MyEntity { public virtual int Id { get; set; } public virtual List<Point> Vectors { get; set; } } How can I map the Vectors in Fluent NHibernate to a single column (as value)? I was thinking of this: public class Vectors : ISerializable { public List<Point> Vectors { get; set; } /* Here goes ISerializable implementation */ } public class MyEntity { public virtual int Id { get; set; } public virtual Vectors Vectors { get; set; } } Is it possible to map the Vectors like this, hoping that Fluent NHibernate will initialize Vectors class as standard ISerializable? Or how else could I map List<Point> to a single column? I guess I will have to write the serialization/deserialization routines myself, which is not a problem, I just need to tell FNH to use those routines. I guess I should use IUserType or ICompositeUserType, but I have no idea how to implement them, and how to tell FNH to cooperate.

• How can i get the absolute position of an SVG element inside the SVG tag using javascript?

  Hi! I am trying to return the absolute position of an element in a SVG. I have tried using basic javascript functions to return the relative position but I only have access to the contentDocument since the SVG is embeded using an OBJECT tag. Because of this I cannot recurse thru the elements to find the position of the element position... Is there any native SVG functions to get the position of an element relative to the SVG element (X=0, Y=0)? Thank you, Morten!

• Collection <NSCFSet: 0x1b0b30> was mutated while being enumerated. How to determine which set?

  I'm doing a bunch of core data inserts and after 20k or so inserts with saves every 1-2k I get this error: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSGenericException', reason: '*** Collection <NSCFSet: 0x1b0b30> was mutated while being enumerated.' I'm trying to figure out which NSSet is causing this. I've done a search and the only NSSets in my code are the autogenerated ones that handle the Core Data relationships. I'm using NSXMLParser and for each element found creating a new entity (if a matching one doesn't already exist). So I will create a state entity and then populate all the city entities and then do a save. This means that a state's NSSet *cities is getting added to but I don't see why you can't do that.

• Accepting drag operations in an NSCollectionView subclass

  I've subclassed NSCollectionView and I'm trying to receive dragged files from the Finder. I'm receiving draggingEntered: and returning an appropriate value, but I'm never receiving prepareForDragOperation: (nor any of the methods after that in the process). Is there something obvious I'm missing here? I am using this registration: container.Register( AllTypes.FromAssemblyNamed("Assembly2") .BasedOn(typeof(IReadDao<>)).WithService.FromInterface(), AllTypes.FromAssemblyNamed("Assembly1") .BasedOn(typeof(IReadDao<>)).WithService.Base()); The IReadDao<Product> works great. The container gives me ProductDao. But if I try to get IProductDao, the container throws ComponentNotFoundException. How can I correctly configure the registration?

  I want to show a scheduling plan for a couple of seminar-rooms, each of them in a seperate column, within a fullcalendar day view. So it schould look like a current fullcalendar week view but for every single day. Is there an obvious solution for this?   According to this section of the Hibernate documentation I should be able to query any java class in HQL http://docs.jboss.org/hibernate/core/3.3/reference/en/html/queryhql.html#queryhql-polymorphism Unfortunately when I run this query... "from Transaction trans where trans.envelopeId=:envelopeId" I get the message "Transaction is not mapped [from Transaction trans where trans.envelopeId=:envelopeId]". Transaction is an interface, I have to entity classes that implement it, I want on HQL query to return a Collection of type Transaction.

• UIPageControl in a ITableViewCell gets shoved to the top left corner

  I'm trying to put a UIPageControl inside a cell (there's nothing else in the cell), but I have two problems: The dots are aligned at the top-left of the cell, so you only see the bottom-right quarter of the first dot, and the bottom half of the other dots (like the first dots center is 0, 0). Unless you tab the cell to select it (goes blue), you can't see the dots at all. Other controls I've put into a cell have filled the whole area as wanted. How do I tell the UIPageControl to fill the whole cell (and align in the middle) How do I change the colours so the dots can be seen? I tried calling [pageControl setBackgroundColor] but it didn't seem to do anything. • What problem does NHibernate solve?

  I've seen some jobs that require nhibernate knowledge, as well as numerous questions on stack. I found another question that pointed me to Summer Of NHibernate and I am watching the videos now. However it has no introduction explaining why NHibernate was created and what problem is solves. By looking on wikipedia, I can see vaguely what it does, but to me it looks like .NET already has the entity framework which seems to do the same thing. Can anyone clarify why nhibernate exists?

  I'm having trouble getting Hibernate to perform a bulk insert on MySQL. I'm using Hibernate 3.3 and MySQL 5.1 At a high level, this is what's happening: @Transactional public Set<Long> doUpdate(Project project, IRepository externalSource) { List<IEntity> entities = externalSource.loadEntites(); buildEntities(entities, project); persistEntities(project); } public void persistEntities(Project project) { projectDAO.update(project); } This results in n log entries (1 for every row) as follows: Hibernate: insert into ProjectEntity (name, parent_id, path, project_id, state, type) values (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?) I'd like to see this get batched, so the update is more performant. It's possible that this routine could result in tens-of-thousands of rows generated, and a db trip per row is a killer. Why isn't this getting batched? (It's my understanding that batch inserts are supposed to be default where appropriate by hibernate).

• Create ActiveRecord migration then edit in one step?

  I find myself doing this a lot: script/generate migration my_new_migration .. then select & copy the generated filename, then paste it into vi to actually write the migration. Is there any way to do this in one step? i.e. when the script/generate migration runs, it creates the file the automatically opens that file in an editor? (I'm working in an SSH terminal window on linux..)

  In this example com.test.Cat extends com.test.Animal and there is no field DB in CAT table of com.test.Cat explicitly defining its type (it wasn't me). When I query my animals from DB I get a collection of Animals. It is possible to sort them by class name: order by r.class but is there a way to use class name as a criteria? For example I would like to get all animals expect dogs. But no luck - even this does not work: where r.class = ? • VIrtual class problem

  What i think about virtual class is, if a derived class has a public base, let's say, class base, then a pointer to derived can be assigned to a variable of type pointer to base without use of any explicit type conversion. But what if, we are inside of base class then how can we call derived class's functions. I will give an example: class Graph{ public: Graph(string); virtual bool addEdge(string,string); } class Direct:public Graph{ public: Direct(string); bool addEdge(string,string); } Direct::Direct(string filename):Graph(filename){}; When i call constructor of Direct class then it calls Graph. Now lets think Graph function calls addedge. Graph(string str){ addedge(str,str); } When it calls addedge, even if the function is virtual, it calls Graph::edge. What i want is, to call Direct::addedge. How can it be done?

• ORA-22835 using JPA (Buffer too small)

  I am trying to persist an Entity with a @Lob annotated String field. The content of that fiels if bigger than the 40k buffer size limit. The first problem I had was related to the setString method used internally by the JPA implementation (Hibernate in my case) and the Oracle JDBC Driver. This problem was solved adding <property name="hibernate.connection.SetBigStringTryClob" value="true"/> to my persistence.xml file. Then, the error changed to a ORA-22835 error (the buffer is too small). ¿Is there any way that JPA solves this problem without going to a low-level implementation? ¿Any suggestions?

What I need on the application level is a list of the User objects contained in the SpecialUsers table.

These transcripts have a very wide variety of formattings, so I can't always count on those nice parentheses being there, or the plaintiff and defendant information being neatly boxed off, e.g.: 1 SUPREME COURT OF THE STATE OF SOME OTHER STATE COUNTY OF COUNTYVILLE 2 First Judicial District Important Litigation 3 --------------------------------------------------X THIS DOCUMENT APPLIES TO: 4 JOHN SMITH, 5 Plaintiff, Index No. 2000-123 6 DEPOSITION 7 - against - UNDER ORAL EXAMINATION 8 OF JOHN SMITH, 9 Volume I 10 ACME CO, et al, 11 Defendants. 12 --------------------------------------------------X The two constants are: "Plaintiff" will occur after the name of the plaintiff(s), but not necessarily on the same line. • No mapping for LONGVARCHAR in Hibernate 3.2

  I am running Hibernate 3.2.0 with MySQL 5.1. After updating the group_concat_max_len in MySQL (because of a group_concat query that was exceeding the default value), I got the following exception when executing a SQLQuery with a group_concat clause: "No Dialect mapping for JDBC type: -1" -1 is the java.sql.Types value for LONGVARCHAR. Evidently, increasing the group_concat_max_len value causes calls to group_concat to return a LONGVARCHAR value. This appears to be an instance of this bug: http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HHH-3892 I guess there is a fix for this issue in Hibernate 3.5, but that is still a development version, so I am hesitant to put it into production, and don't know if it would cause issues for other parts of my code base. I could also just use JDBC queries, but then I have to replace every instance of a SQLQuery with a group_concat clause. Any other suggestions?
