    Cannot download the WMP 11 SDK. It is now included in the huge Windows SDK and I am not able to download it now. I need to know the exact definition of WMP_PLUGINTYPE_DSP_OUTOFPROC in the form similar to WMP_PLUGINTYPE_DSP in the WMP 9 version of wmpservices.h which is: EXTERN_GUID( WMP_PLUGINTYPE_DSP, 0x6434baea, 0x4954, 0x498d, 0xab, 0xd5, 0x2b, 0x7, 0x12, 0x3e, 0x1f, 0x4 ); Thanks in advance, Andrea

  • How to handle lifecycle of dynamically allocated data in Windows messages?

    Simple task: Send a windows message with dynamically allocated data, e.g. an arbitrary length string. How would you manage the responsibility to free this data? The receiver(s) of the windows message could be responsible to free this data. But: How can you guarantee that all messages will actually be received and thus the linked data will be freed? Imagine the situation that the receiver is shutting down, so it won't process it's message queue any more. However, the message queue still exists (for some time) and can still accept messages, which won't be processed any more. Thanks!

  • What could be the maximum number of hosts on a 100BaseTX ethernet network ?

    Hello, I'm having two ip networks (192.168.1.x and 192.168.2.x) bridged on a server, but all hosts (fixed IPs) are on the same physical 100BaseTX ethernet (with a daisy chain of 48ports switchs). Often, I loose link between the server and hosts of the second network. Usually if I reboot the host, the connection work again, and if I force connection to be active, the connection keep alive until I ping after a while without active connection. I'm wondering how many hosts can be connected on the same network without troubles, and eventually how many switches can be daisy chained ? I suppose maximum length between hosts to be 100meters to the hub or 200meters between extremity of the network.   • Serve a specific set of error pages for different subdirectories

    I am currently trying to setup 2 different sets of Error documents for separate folders within a website. I have 2 folders within the root of a site: demo/ live/ Any requests that return 404's or 403's within the demo folder needs to load one set of pages for the Apache errordocuments, eg. ErrorDocument 404 /statuses/demo-404.html ErrorDocument 403 /statuses/demo-403.html And the live needs to go to similarly name files. ErrorDocument 404 /statuses/live-404.html ErrorDocument 403 /statuses/live-403.html So far I have tried placing an .htaccess file in both directories with the ErrorDocument directives setup pointing to the specific files, the 404 works fine and references the correct page. However, the 403s do not work and revert to the server default when trying to access forbidden folders within the demo directory, the logs indicate the following: [Wed Jun 16 04:47:44 2010] [crit] [client 115.64.131.144] (13)Permission denied: /home/abstract/public_html/demo/xxx/.htaccess pcfg_openfile: unable to check htaccess file, ensure it is readable Is this correct? Would apache revert to default because it is trying to look for the htaccess in a folder it doesn't have permission in? Why wouldn't it work it's way back through the folder tree? Can I make it do this?

    Hello, I have two comma seperated lists:- 36,189,47,183,65,50 65, 50, 189, 47 the question is how to compare the two in classic ASP in order to identify and return any values that exist in list 1 but that don't exist in list 2 bearing in mind that associative arrays aren't available. e.g. in the above example I would need the return value to be 36,183 Thanks

  • jQuery & PHP: Running action in background

    Hi, so I want to do something like when you press on LogOut, you get a waiting message like "please wait.." while its running ucp.php?mode=logout in the background, and after it has loaded that it should refresh the site. How should this be done?? I am new to jquery, but so far i gave my link a ID, called #logout, made a <div id="message"></div> and then in jquery i did: jQuery(document).ready(function(){ $('#tryout').click(function () { logOut(); }); function logOut() { var postFile = 'ucp.php?mode=logout'; $.post(postFile, function(data){ $("#message").fadeIn('slow'); }); } Now is this right? And the line with #message, where it fades in, i don't really think its right because where's should i write the "Please wait" and the refresh part? Please help me

    I've built an ASP.NET page whose output stream is a dynamically-generated PNG image containing only text on a transparent background. The text is based upon database IDs contained in the querystring. There will be a limited number of variations. Which one of the following would be the most efficient means of returning the image to the client? Store each variation upon the first generation, and thenceforth retrieve this from the drive. Simply generate the image each time. Cache the output response based upon the querystring.

    Hi All, I am looking to write some integration tests to compare the WSDL generated by WCF services against previous (and published) versions. This is to ensure the service contracts don't differ from time of release. I would like my tests to be self contained and not rely on any external resources such as hosting on IIS. But I need a ListView or other ItemsControl to bind to it in XAML file like this: But I can't figure it out how to pass the ObservableCollection to the ItemsSource of that control. I tried to create a class and then create an instance of a class in xaml file but it did not work. Should I create a static resource somehow Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Good link checking tool?

    Hi all Can anyone recommend a good, free link checker to check all pages within a domain? Ideally a browser add-on or a web app (otherwise something that runs on OSX). Crucially it needs to follow links recursively within a domain. Links outside the domain should be followed to a depth of 1, but not checked recursively. This is for the fairly common situation where you want to check all pages on your own site, but not evaluate the links on e.g. Google's homepage. I can't find anything suitable. Am I missing something? I've tried the Firefox LinkChecker add-on and the W3C link validator - neither seem to have the 'follow recursively within a domain' property, or am I being dumb? I know Xenu does this, but I don't run Windows.

I want to delete them.   • Office ribbon for WPF 4.0

    Hi all, It is rumoured that WPF 4.0 would deliver us an out-of-the-box Office Ribbon. A new WPF Ribbon Control will be available for download shortly after the release of WPF 4. [1] Now my internet and MSDN search turned out to be fruitless, and as far as I know, it would be release after the .NET 4.0 framework would launch. My search lead me to the Office plugin ribbon controls and the CTP prereleased before the release of .net 4.0 with a limited featureset. So my question is: does anyone know if and when Microsoft will release this Office Ribbon with the framework? Or if they don't a nice press note saying that they ditched the project. Also if anyone has experience with the Ribbon I'm talking about, will this Ribbon work in a partial trusted environment? My thanks will be ever lasting! ;)

Here, we are overriding printVal() method, so that is understandable that it is accessing child class method only. But I could not understand why it's accessing the value of x from Super class...     I have a view, AdvertView in my database, this view is a simple join between some tables (advert, customer, properties). I'm using ANTS performance profiler and it reports that the total runtime of the function is 1.400ms, and 850 of those is with the ToList(). So my question is, why does the tolist function take such a long time here?

  • How to control the order of module initialization in Prism

    I'm using Prism V2 with a DirectoryModuleCatalog and I need the modules to be initialized in a certain order. The desired order is specified with an attribute on each IModule implementation. This is so that as each module is initialized, they add their View into a TabControl region and the order of the tabs needs to be deterministic and controlled by the module author. The order does not imply a dependency, but rather just an order that they should be initialized in. In other words: modules A, B, and C may have priorities of 1, 2, and 3 respectively. B does not have a dependency on A - it just needs to get loaded into the TabControl region after A. So that we have a deterministic and controllable order of the tabs. Also, B might not exist at runtime; so they would load as A, C because the priority should determine the order (1, 3). If i used the ModuleDependency, then module "C" will not be able to load w/o all of it's dependencies. I can manage the logic of how to sort the modules, but i can't figure out where to put said logic.

  • Iterating over a HashMap with JSTL, always getting last Object

    Hello, I have a Map, which I tried to iterate over with JSTL. Somehow I could not accomplish even this basic task. I also referred the questions here and here, but that is what I am already doing, still no success. What I tried to do was: <c:forEach items="${myMap}" var="myEntry"> ${myEntry.key} + ${myEntry.value} </c:forEach> But I always get the last object. Maybe I am missing something trivial, please advise. Thank You
