  • How to nest an Enum inside the value of an Enum

    I'd like to know if it is possible in Java to nest Enums. Here what i'd like to be able to do : Have an enum Species made of CAT and DOG wich would grant me access to sub enums of the available CAT and DOG breeds. For example, i'd like to be able to test if wether a CAT or a DOG and if an animal is a PERSAN CAT or a PITBULL DOG. CAT and DOG breeds must be distinct enums ,i.e a CatBreeds enum and a DogBreeds enum. Here is an example of access pattern i'd like to use : Species : Species.CAT Species.DOG Breeds : Species.CAT.breeds.PERSAN Species.DOG.breeds.PITBULL

  • Drawing an image on view over scrollview

    Hi, I have a scrollview on a controller. To enable paging for scrollview, i have added another controller, which initializes when the pages are made. That means for each page i have a controller made at run time. In the view of scroll controller, i am trying to draw an image using drawRect. The problem is i see the drawn image only for the 1st page and when i scroll, the other controllers are blank. Please help

  • Engine finish() causes segmentation fault

    Hello All - I am using M2Crypto revision 723 from the repository. I am trying to clean up my engine. If I have the pkcs11.finish() line in my script, the script finishes but gets a segmentation fault at the end. Without the finish() line, no segmentation fault occurs. Is there something wrong with the way I'm using finish()? dynamic=Engine.load_dynamic_engine("pkcs11","/usr/local/ssl/lib/engines/engine_pkcs11.so") pkcs11 = Engine.Engine("pkcs11") pkcs11.ctrl_cmd_string("MODULE_PATH", "/usr/lib/libeTPkcs11.so") pkcs11.init() # next few steps which I deleted pass password and grab key & cert off token pkcs11.finish() Engine.cleanup() Thanks!

  • IE6 background-position(?) issue

    I apply to stackoverflow as my last resort. I got this ie6 bug while using the image at the background of the link. It seems that ie6 scrolls the background. How can I avoid it?   • Design view not working in Web Projects in Visual Studio 2008

    When I try to edit an ASPX file with the Design View it freezes for a moment and does nothing, not even an error message. Looking through menus I've seen some strange things: If I go to Tools-Options-HTML Designer it gives me no options on the right panel, just a "Error loading property page" message. When I try to open a file using "Open With..." there should be something like "Web Form - Editor", but it is missing and I can only open them using Code View. I've tried repairing Visual Studio and reinstalling WebDesignerCore, but nothing works. Anyone had the same problem?

  • Is there a better way than this to find out if an IsolatedStorage file exists or not?

    I'm using IsolatedStorage in a Silverlight application for caching, so I need to know if the file exists or not which I do with the following method. I couldn't find a FileExists method for IsolatedStorage so I'm just catching the exception, but it seems to be a quite general exception, I'm concerned it will catch more than if the file doesn't exist.   • Iframe auto-height not working when page changes in IE

    I have an iframe in a page, with the following auto-height script. function autoHeight(e) { if ( e.contentDocument ) { e.height = e.contentDocument.body.offsetHeight + 35; } else { e.height = e.contentWindow.document.body.scrollHeight + 35; } } document.domain = "totalstudents.co.uk"; var ifr = document.getElementById('housingdata'); ifr.onload = function() { autoHeight(ifr); } The iframe resizes fine when the outer page is loaded, but when I go to a new page in the iframe, scrollbars appear and the page does not get resized in Internet Explorer. In other browsers the iframe gets resized, because the onload event fires each time. I'm using IE8 but the outer page is setting it to IE7 compatibility mode. Is there a workaround for IE?

  • Do you take the pain of learning it or use an out of the box solution?

    Hi all What I'm getting at here is being presented with a control or framework that does 95% of what you want but has its shortcomings when opposed to learning how to do it yourself. To give a good example (ASP.Net) UpdatePanel vs DIY JS/JSON. The UpdatePanel gives you AJAX instantly without doing anything additional, however I've come to learn that its shortcomings are mainly that it's a bit of a hack and performs badly on busy pages and I've found myself having to scrap UpdatePanels in favour of rolling my own JS, and I've now made it a habit to fully investigate any shortcomings in out-of-the-box solutions, as I've been stung by this experience. So I guess what I'm asking is: Is it better to find out how to DIY or is it considered a better approach to try the available solution and risk going a full circle? Obviously I've only targetted a single control, but it is a very attractive control to people learning AJAX - I'm sure there are others out there. Sorry if dupliate. Thanks

  • SQL query to translate a list of numbers matched against several ranges, to a list of values

    I need to convert a list of numbers that fall within certain ranges into a list of values, ordered by a priority column. The table has the following values: | YEAR | R_MIN | R_MAX | VAL | PRIO | ------------------------------------ 2010 18000 90100 52 6 2010 240000 240099 82 3 2010 250000 259999 50 5 2010 260000 260010 92 1 2010 330000 330010 73 4 2010 330011 370020 50 5 2010 380000 380050 84 2 The ranges will be different for different years. The ranges within one year will never overlap. The input will be a year and a list of numbers that might fall within one these ranges. The list of input number will be small, 1 to 10 numbers. Example of input numbers: (20000, 240004, 375000, 255000) With that input I would like to get a list ordered by the priority column, or a single value: 82 50 52 The only value I'm interested in here is 82, so UNIQUE and MAX_RESULTS=1 would do. It can easily be done with one query per number, and then sorting it in the Java code, but I would prefer to do it in a single SQL query. What SQL query, to be run in an Oracle database, would give me the desired result?

  • Python file - Want to change it to a function or a class

    Hello, I have a python program/file that I want to run repeatedly and calculate the averages of some variables over these runs. To do so, I thought it might be convenient to convert this program into a function or a class. One way I can think of is to add a def Main(): line at the top and indent every line manually within it. Is there an easier way? I am using pydev on eclipse. Thanks.

    Is there any problem or pitfall including ISA server into domain after ISA was installed and configured and worked for a while? All the rules at the moment are based upon IP addresses, All Users. Addendum 1 ISA is an edge firewall, so it is connected to one Internal network (this is where domain is) and to the Internet provider (External Network). Addendum 2 I'm absolutely sure ISA should be a member of the domain.

  • connecting to bsnl wll, with huawei fixed wireless modem with connected to usb port on linux mint.

    On windows, when I plugged in the usb connector, to the device was recognized as a mass storage device and installed all the drivers, to my computer, then the device, automatically restarted and started behaving like a modem, I'm writing this post, using the same modem, through windows... On linux mint (debian kernel, similar to ubuntu 8.10), the device is recognized as a mass storage device, some times, but, has no programs, useful for linux... When I use the modem on windows and restart the computer and login to linux, the device shows up as "not yet configured" in the terminal command "lsusb"... I googled a lot for solutions, tried many things, atlast, configured it and run the command "wvdial". But, get the error, that the modem is not responding, at last ! :'( Please help me out... Many more people are facing this problem, as I could discover, when I googled for it. this is the website address of huawei, the company of my modem...   • Management Studio default file save location

    Open a new query window. Write some SQL. Save the script, the Save File As dialog box opens - but always to the same default location in the Profiles directory. Is there any way to set my default file location? ...Like I used to do with apps from the 1980s? Under Tools|Options a default location can be specified for query results. I need the same thing for new queries (the text editor). Tried changing locations in the Registry but SSMS just overwrote my changes. Any suggestions? (I saw this unanswered question at http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/30098335/management-studio-default.aspx and I had same exact question so I just reposted it here)
