  • How can we add text in cocos2d by using UITextView ?

    I want a UITextView in cocos2d. I used in init method UITextView *textView = [[UITextView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0,0, windowSize.height/2,windowSize.width/2)]; textView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; textView.text = @"I am First enemy"; [textView setEditable:NO]; [[[CCDirector sharedDirector]openGLView]addSubview:textView]; the orientation is [[CCDirector sharedDirector] setDeviceOrientation:CCDeviceOrientationLandscapeLeft]; I need the text to appear in landscape mode, but I am getting the text in following way. How can I make the text to appear in the landScape mode. I am working in cocos2d. CanOI scroll the text ? What should i add to make the text scroll up and down. Thank you.

  • How do I optimize this postfix expression tree for speed?

    Thanks to the help I received in this post: I have a nice, concise recursive function to traverse a tree in postfix order: deque <char*> d; void Node::postfix() { if (left != __nullptr) { left->postfix(); } if (right != __nullptr) { right->postfix(); } d.push_front(cargo); return; }; This is an expression tree. The branch nodes are operators randomly selected from an array, and the leaf nodes are values or the variable 'x', also randomly selected from an array. char *values[10]={"1.0","2.0","3.0","4.0","5.0","6.0","7.0","8.0","9.0","x"}; char *ops[4]={"+","-","*","/"}; As this will be called billions of times during a run of the genetic algorithm of which it is a part, I'd like to optimize it for speed. I have a number of questions on this topic which I will ask in separate postings. The first is: how can I get access to each 'cargo' as it is found. That is: instead of pushing 'cargo' onto a deque, and then processing the deque to get the value, I'd like to start processing it right away. I don't yet know about parallel processing in c++, but this would ideally be done concurrently on two different processors. In python, I'd make the function a generator and access succeeding 'cargo's using .next(). But I'm using c++ to speed up the python implementation. I'm thinking that this kind of tree has been around for a long time, and somebody has probably optimized it already. Any Ideas? Thanks

    I want to get IQueryable<> result when executing stored procedure. Here is peace of code that works fine: IQueryable<SomeEntitiy> someEntities; var globbalyFilteredSomeEntities = from se in m_Entities.SomeEntitiy where se.GlobalFilter == 1234 select se; I can use this to apply global filter, and later use result in such way result = globbalyFilteredSomeEntities .OrderByDescending(se => se.CreationDate) .Skip(500) .Take(10); What I want to do - use some stored procedures in global filter. I tried: Add stored procedure to m_Entities, but it returns IEnumerable<> and executes sp immediately: var globbalyFilteredSomeEntities = from se in m_Entities.SomeEntitiyStoredProcedure(1234); Materialize query using EFExtensions library, but it is IEnumerable<>. If I use AsQueryable() and OrderBy(), Skip(), Take() and after that ToList() to execute that query - I get exception that DataReader is open and I need to close it first(can't paste error - it is in russian). var globbalyFilteredSomeEntities = m_Entities.CreateStoreCommand("exec SomeEntitiyStoredProcedure(1234)") .Materialize<SomeEntitiy>(); //.AsQueryable() //.OrderByDescending(se => se.CreationDate) //.Skip(500) //.Take(10) //.ToList(); Also just skipping .AsQueryable() is not helpful - same exception.

    Hi In the book "Rootkit Arsenal" page 84 (Chapter 3) mentions: ..., we can view the contents of the target machine's descriptor registers using the command with the 0x100 mask: kd rM 0x100 and a paragraph below: Note that the same task can be accomplished by specifying the GDTR components explicitly: kd r gdtr .... I run Windbg on my Win XP (inside VMWare) and choose the Kernel Debug - Local. My problem is in case of first command, windbg errors with: lkd rM 0x100 ^ Operation not supported in current debug session 'rM 0x100' and in the second command: lkd r gdtr ^ Bad register error in 'r gdtr' Can anyone guide me ?

  • General question: Filesystem or database?

    Hey guys, i want to create a small document management system. there are several users who store their files. each file which is uploaded contains an info which user uploaded it and the document content itself. In a view there are displayed all files of ONE specific user, ordered by date. What would be better: 1) giving the documents a name or metadata(XML) which contain the date and user (and iterate through them to get the metadata) or 2) giving the files a random/unique name and store metadata in a DB? something like this: date | user | filename What would you say and why? The used programming language is java and the DB is MySQL.

  • Use of 'standalone parentheses'

    I just answered a question where I advised removing parentheses around a statement and was asked why, to which I had no answer when I realised that it caused no errors/warnings. I could only cite bad practice. But maybe I'm the one missing something... I did my own tests: (print('!')); // Outputs '!' ((print('!!'))); // Outputs '!!' (1); // No output (qwerty); // No output (1==2); // No output (1=2); // Syntax error // etc... Can someone shed some light on whats going on and of what use are 'standalone parentheses'?

    Hi all, I want to create a global MemoryMappedFile in C# 4.0 using following call: string MemoryMappedFileName = "Global\\20E9C857-C944-4C35-B937-A5941034D073"; ioBuffer = MemoryMappedFile.CreateNew(MemoryMappedFileName, totalIoBufferSize); This always throws following exception "System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path is denied." If I remove the "Global\" identifier from the memorymapped filename it works but I need a memory mapped file existing accross terminal sessions. thanks, Christoph

  • IE is doing strange things with JQuery

    So ... The thing is, the code works in FireFox, no problems. But when I open the same page, it gives me the following error: "Undefined is null or not an object." But when I copy the code to a localhost page, it works fine. Also when I clear my cache in IE it works, but only once, if I refresh after that one load, it gives me the same error. I'm currently stuck on the basics of basics: How to install and configure sql server How to connect to it I installed Sql Server through Web Platform Installer, and have Visual Studio 2008 installed. Still, I can't understand how to connect to my server: I see that the SQL service itself (SQLEXPRESS) is running in both in services.msc and Sql Server Configuration Manager I try to connect to it via the Management Studio, but I don't understand what to do. Where do I begin?

    in order to use the FolderBrowserDialog control in asp.net, i had to add a reference to System.Windows.Forms in my project. i wrote this code: FolderBrowserDialog f = new FolderBrowserDialog(); f.ShowDialog(); but this error occured: Current thread must be set to single thread apartment (STA) mode before OLE calls can be made. Ensure that your Main function has STAThreadAttribute marked on it. This exception is only raised if a debugger is attached to the process. any help?

  • Create two semi-transparent images that when stacked produce the target image

    Due to CSS limitations I am forced to stack to semi-transparent images on my website. I won't go into detail regarding the CSS since if I can get this question answered the problem is moot. Anyway, I would like to modify image A in the GIMP such that it will look like it did originally after being stacked on top of image B. Both image A and image B have their opacities set to 50%. Image B is a solid color throughout, whereas image A has some minor details such as a gradient.   • OGNL thread safety

    I'm going to reuse OGNL library out of Struts2 scope. I have rather large set of formulas, that is why I would like to precompile all of them: Ognl.parseExpression(expressionString); But I'm not sure if precompiled expression can be used in multi-thread environment. Does anybody knows if it can be used?
