  • Dictionary API or Library

    Does anyone know of a good dictionary API or ruby library to lookup the definitions of words? I'm thinking it should work something like: I call get_definition(word) It returns the definition for that word (ideally in some way to easily format the definition for display. Thanks

  • iPhone in App purchase : Working but Not

    Hi, I have added in App purchase functionality within my application. We have tested it successfully on iPhone (in sandbox mode). After successfully testing, we sent the application for final testing to tester situated at other country. In strange case, the tester is not able to test in App purchase functionality. He is getting "Invalid Product Id" error. We are giving same build to tester which is working perfectly at our side. The whole application is working perfectly except in app purchase functionality.   • Outlook 2003 under RHEL 5 server

Now i want to configure Outlook 2003 for send and receive mails in windows boxes, When i configure and test connections, It showing connection failed. In browser, internet working well. Without proxy, windows outlook - 2003 configure well in windows boxes also working well. What you think about it and How can i solve this problem ? Please give clear steps to solve.

  • Tiled Image for background of DIV is making IE sllllowww when scrolling

    Take a look at http://www.pmverge.com at the "We're in Bootstrap Mode" DIV on the right-hand side. Having that background tile image is causing the IE browser (all versions) to drag when scrolling. What can I do to keep that tiled style but not have it slow down IE. background-image: url(http://blog.pmverge.com/assets/images/background.gif) NOTES Yes this is the Stackoverflow.com engine as I'm licensing it. The background watermark image is not slowing the page down (though it has about 50k).

  • ColdFusion code parser?

    I'm trying to create an app to search my company's ColdFusion codebase. I'd like to be able to do intelligent searches, for example: find where a function is defined (and not hit everywhere the function is called). In order to do this, I'd need to parse the ColdFusion code to identify things like function declarations, function calls, database queries, etc. I've looked into using lex and yacc, but I've never used them before and the learning curve seems very steep. I'm hoping there is something already out there that I could use. My other option is a mess of difficult-to-maintain regex-spaghetti code, which I want to avoid.

  • Jquery tabs with cookie support restore wrong tab position after page refresh.

    Hello, all. I have tricky problem which I can't completely understand... It's jquery tabs with cookie support. I've following code: $(document).ready(function() { var $tabs = $("#tabs").tabs(); $tabs.tabs('select', $.cookie("tabNumber")); $('#tabs ul li a').click(function() { $.cookie("tabNumber", $tabs.tabs('option', 'selected')); }); $('#btnSelect').click(function() { //alert($.cookie("tabNumber")); //$tabs.tabs('select', 2); $tabs.tabs('select', $.cookie("tabNumber")); }); }); So, I've 3 tabs (with positions 0,1,2) inside div named "tabs". When user selects one tab, then tab position stores in cookie. After that if user refresh page, active tab position must be restored. But each time I refresh page I get active tab in previous position (if I select 2nd tab, then after refresh I got active tab in position 1, etc.). I add some test in code (button btnSelect with onclick handler which duplicates load position functionality). So, if I uncomment and use $tabs.tabs('select', 2); Then after I click btnSelect I've got right position. Ok, that's right. Then I comment that line and uncomment next one: alert($.cookie("tabNumber")); So, I select tab, click button, get dialog message "2", and after that tab in position 1 became active. Why?? In both cases I call 'select' method with parameter 2... I know I can use aliases for tabs, but I want to understate why my code doesn't work properly.

PyQt is being built with 'protected' redefined as 'public'. The Designer plugin will be installed in /Developer/Applications/Qt/plugins/designer. The PyQt .sip files will be installed in /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.1/share/sip/PyQt4. pyuic4, pyrcc4 and pylupdate4 will be installed in /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.1/bin.   • Extra line breaks inserted in MrEd text%

    In a DrScheme project, I'm using a MrEd editor-canvas% with text% and inserting a string from a literal in a Scheme file. This results in an extra blank line in the editor for each line of text I'm trying to insert. Is this a Windows vs. Unix linebreak problem? (big cache, loading lots of records from a db) Use the right data type Avoid java.lang.String to represent other data types Avoid duplicated objects Use enums if the values are known in advance Use object pools String.intern() (good idea?) Load/keep only the objects you need I am looking for general programming or Java specific answers. No funky compiler switch. Edit: Optimize the memory representation of a POJO that can appear millions of times in the heap. Use cases Load a huge csv file in memory (converted into POJOs) Use hibernate to retrieve million of records from a database Resume of answers: Use flyweight pattern Copy on write Instead of loading 10M objects with 3 properties, is it more efficient to have 3 arrays (or other data structure) of size 10M? (Could be a pain to manipulate data but if you are really short on memory...)
