• Interspire to Magento migration

  Hello, I recently started with Magento and decided to migrate Interspire shopping cart I already made time ago to it. At first look Magento seems a very huge beast - lots of options, maybe lack of simplicity resulting in some performance loss. I've got user guide from which I am not getting much of benefit since there're just descriptions of very ordinary tasks that I could easily discover myself by poking around frontend/backend. So my first tasks are category and product export. Interspire seems to be exporting ONLY products in three available formats: Default MYOB Peachtree accounting I did some searching on Magento's product importing and found a blog post which says that I should create a few sample products with all the necessary attributes myself and then start the import. But what should I do with categories ? Is it possible to import them or instruct Magento to automatically create categories when importing product file if unknown category is encountered ? Thanks

  Hi , I'm having a windows form which contains listview control , where listView1.View = View.Details; and listView1.CheckBoxes = true; then added a column with HeaderName as "FileName". listView1.Columns.Add("File Name", 200, HorizontalAlignment.Left); Here I would like to have check box in the Header of listview , ie FileName. • How can I make CAPTCHA work across multiple pages?

  Ever visit a website such as myspace where they leverage CAPTCHA to prevent spam? The typical pattern is to present a challenge to each URL that is opened, yet the challenge doesn't actually belong to the page itself which causes additional bandwidth usage. So, if I open up six pages at the same time and want to present a challenge on each page. I want the challenge to be tied to the page and not to the session. How can I make this work with Spring and/or Struts.

• Cocoon lite / XML and XSLT publishing framework

  What publishing frameworks (publishing only, NOT full-blown CMS) based on XML, XSLT sitemaps and pipelines exist, are stable, active, and simpler / lighter than Cocoon? I have glanced at: mod_xslt (http://www.mod-xslt2.com/) which seemed to be exactly that, but looks all but dead, and required a complex setup, and apparently supported only libxslt as an XSLT processor (I'd like to be able to use Saxon and XSLT 2.0 of course). Apache Forrest (http://forrest.apache.org/), but I don't understand if it is really simpler than Cocoon or is rather an additionnal thing on top of Cocoon? What I'm looking for is something that does just this: recieves an HTTP GET "runs it" through a sitemap finds a pipeline: source.xml - xslt1.xsl - xslt2.xsl - xsltn.xsl - serialize runs the pipeline serves the serialized result to the client and: uses Saxon (or is "processor independant") can be installed "lightly", that is: should not require much more configuration than the sitemap Maybe I'm describing an early version of Cocoon, or a future version of an XProc implementation... Anyway, does such a tool exist?

• Python tkInter text entry validation

  I'm trying to validate the entry of text using Python/tkInter def validate_text(): return False text = Entry(textframe, validate="focusout", validatecommand=validate_text) where validate_text is the function - I've tried always returning False and always returning True and there's no difference in the outcome..? Is there a set of arguments in the function that I need to include? Edit - changed from NONE to focusout...still not working

• Access denied at webservice

  Hi, I have a winforms, and it connecting wit webservice. Webservice has method which create folder Directory.Create(path); Webservice is at company server, and this folder must me create at another disc in out company. When I invoke this method, i get exception "Acces denied to path..." When webservice was running at my computer everything was ok. I have full acces to this network disc. But how to set full access to my company server?? • CCLabelAtlas setString doesn't update label

  Hello! I have a CCLabelAtlas that I have on a layer to display the current score within my game...the problem that I am having with it is that it does not update when I use [scoreLabel setString:]. Here's how I have it laid out: In the header: @interface GameScene : CCLayer { ... CCLabelAtlas* scoreLabel; } And in the init: scoreLabel = [[CCLabelAtlas alloc] initWithString:@"0" charMapFile:@"scoreCharMap.png" itemWidth:6 itemHeight:8 startCharMap:'.']; [scoreLabel setPosition:ccp(105, 414)]; [self addChild:scoreLabel z: 6]; scoreCharMap.png is a custom map that includes ./0123456789 of my desired font. When the score is changed, I attempt to do this to get the label to update with the current score: NSString* str = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@"%d", [[GameRunner sharedInstance] currentScore]]; [scoreLabel setString: str]; [str release]; [scoreLabel draw]; Problem is that it doesn't ever update - it just sits there and displays 0. I know for a fact due to breakpoints and debugging that setString is being called, and that the string that it should be displaying is correct - but it just doesn't update. Hard-coding the value and saying [scoreLabel setString:@"1234"] does nothing, either. What am I doing wrong here? I am using Cocos2d 0.99 - thanks in advance!

• Rails Tableless Model

  I'm creating a tableless Rails model, and am a bit stuck on how I should use it. Basically I'm trying to create a little application using Feedzirra that scans a RSS feed every X seconds, and then sends me an email with only the updates. I'm actually trying to use it as an activerecord model, and although I can get it to work, it doesn't seem to "hold" data as expected. As an example, I have an initializer method that parses the feed for the first time. On the next requests, I would like to simply call the get_updates method, which according to feedzirra, is the existing object (created during the initialize) that gets updated with only the differences. I'm finding it really hard to understand how this all works, as the object created on the initialize method doesn't seem to persist across all the methods on the model. My code looks something like: def initialize feed parse here end def get_updates feedzirra update passing the feed object here end Not sure if this is the right way of doing it, but it all seems a bit confusing and not very clear. I could be over or under-doing here, but I'd like your opinion about this approach. Thanks in advance

• Getting value of "i" from GEvent

  Hello, I'm trying to add an event listener to each icon on the map when it's pressed. • Problem closing MDI child window in Terminal Services/Remote Desktop Connection 7.0

  I have one user whose computer just got updated to the 7.0 Remote Desktop Connection. Concurrently, she has started having a problem closing the MDI child windows in an old FoxPro application running on the remote server. We have two different servers, both 2003, running the same application, one locally and one at a remote office. Only the remote office server is giving trouble. It works fine for me, even when logging into her TS account. No other users have complained. The other day the same user experienced an error message (path not found for a path showing a localization placeholder) starting the RDC, fixed by reboot. I suspect she may have had RDC running during the 7.0 upgrade.

• Active Directory Group Policy: Script Errors

  Hello all. Anyone having issues with AD group policy script errors when enabling VMware Fusion's "Sharing" feature? I've run into this problem in version 2.0 and 3.0. I have a logon script applied on an AD OU. It works fine on all Windows client workstations and in VMware Fusion only when the "Sharing" feature is NOT enabled. Any ideas would be much appreciated. • Can't Get Mac Mini to turn on - no screen, no beep, only the fan, power light, and optical drive noi

  I have an Intel-based Mac mini mid-2007 (Model A1176). This is the computer my kids use so I don't use it regularly. The computer had been working fine until one day my kids told me that it no longer works. The computer will not boot up. When I turn it on the fan turns, the white power light in the front turns on, and there is a sound that appears to be from the optical drive (rather than hard drive). I don't get anything to the monitor, nor do I get any dings or other start up sounds from the computer. Here is what I've tried thus far to no avail: 1) Swapped out the monitors early on since I figured that was my weak link - no change 2) Reset the PMU - no change 3) Tried to boot up from the System Disk - The mini loaded the dvd into the drive, but nothing else (I can't eject the disk so I can put it back) 3) Start up the computer in target mode connected to another mac - I tried this too, but I never received a chime or the disk show up on the other mac. I'm about out of ideas apart from scraping the computer. Does anyone have any ideas that I can try? Again, nothing has been done to the computer in at least 6 months when I upgraded the RAM. I'm also still on Leopard. Thanks.

• Simple OpenCV problem.

  Why I try to run the following OpenCV program, it shows the following error : ERROR: test_1.exe - Application Error The application failed to initialize properly (0x80000003). Click on OK to terminate the application.   has the HTML version changed lately (like from ie7 to IE8?) I notice the following change that cause me some troulbe - I am having a code that is similar to this: <form method="POST" action="/admin/modify"> <input type="text"/> <button onclick="dosomething()">Press</button> </form> <script type="text/javascript"> function doSomething(){ // doesn't matter what actually } </script> What is weired to me in this code is that by pressing the button inside the form, all I want is to perform some javascript action but eventaully it causes the form to be submitted too, even when I am not willing to do it. So - is it true? and if so how can I perform some java script actoin inside a from but prevent the form from being submitted automatically?

  I'm getting a javascript error. Javascript is currently reporting that: '$.listHidden[...] is null or not an object'. It's an error that appears in IE. I found this code on the internet somewhere. Is there a way to fix it, or should I look for something else? Thanks

• Why's a simple change to rt.jar causing the Java Runtime Environment to crash silently?

  This is what I'm doing: extract contents of my JRE's rt.jar extract src.zip of my JDK (same version) Now, if I copy Runtime.java from the extracted src folder and compile it using javac.exe without any modifications and then put it in the extracted rt folder to finally put everything back in a jar file using jar.exe, everything works as expected. The JRE runs fine. However, if I make the slightest change to Runtime.java and compile it and put it in rt.jar, the JRE crashes whenever I attempt to start it. This is an example of a slight change that causes the silent crash: /** Don't let anyone else instantiate this class */ private Runtime() { System.out.println("This is a test."); } Instead of: /** Don't let anyone else instantiate this class */ private Runtime() {} Could anyone tell me why this is causing my JRE to crash? • Symbol info in .app file

  Hi, i've recently released an app to the App store, i went to have a look at some crash logs in Organiser of my app downloaded from the app store and noticed that there is symbol info in my crash log - Shock Horror I definitely remember setting some strip symbols flags when i built the distribution build (which was copied from release) so can't for the life of me work out how there is this symbol info there. I never shipped a .SYM file to apple just the .app. So whats going on. Surely apple would have warned me about this wouldn't they??

• Python 3: Most efficient way to create a [func(i) for i in range(N)] list comprehension

  Say I have a function func(i) that creates an object for an integer i, and N is some nonnegative integer. Then what's the fastest way to create a list (not a range) equal to this list mylist = [func(i) for i in range(N)] without resorting to advanced methods like creating a function in C? My main concern with the above list comprehension is that I'm not sure if python knows beforehand the length of range(N) to preallocate mylist, and therefore has to incrementally reallocate the list. Is that the case or is python clever enough to allocate mylist to length N first and then compute it's elements? If not, what's the best way to create mylist? Maybe this? mylist = [None]*N for i in range(N): mylist[i] = func(i)

• Run a PHP-script from a PHP-script without blocking

  I'm building a spider which will traverse various sites and data mining them. Since I need to get each page separately this could take a VERY long time (maybe 100 pages). I've already set the set_time_limit to be 2 minutes per page but it seems like apache will kill the script after 5 minutes no matter. This isn't usually a problem since this will run from cron or something similar which does not have this time limit. However I would also like the admins to be able to start a fetch manually via a HTTP-interface. It is not important that apache is kept alive for the full duration, I'm, going to use AJAX to trigger a fetch and check back once in a while with AJAX. My problem is how to start the fetch from within a PHP-script without the fetch being terminated when the script calling it dies. Maybe I could use system('script.php &') but I'm not sure it will do the trick. Any other ideas?

• flash as3 document class and event listeners

  I think i have this document class concept entirly wrong now, i was wondering if someone mind explaining it.. I assumed that the above class would be instantiated within the first frame on scene one of a movie. I also assumed that when changing scenes the state of the class would remain constant so any event listeners would still be running.. Scene 1: I have a movieclip named ui_mc, that has a button in for muting sound. Scene 2: I have the same movie clip with the same button. Now the eventListener picks it up in the first scene, however it does not in the second. I am wondering for every scene do the event listeners need to be resetup? If that is the case if their an event listener to listen for the change in scene, so i can set them back up again lol.. • LALR(1) or GLR on Windows - Alternatives to Bison++ / Flex++ that are current?

  I have been using the same version of bison++ (1.21-8) and flex++ (2.3.8-7) since 2002. I'm not looking for an alternative to LALR(1) or GLR at this time, just looking for the most current options. Is anyone aware of any later ports of these than the original that aren't Cygwin dependent? What are other folks using in Windows environments for C++ compiler development (besides ANTLR or Boost.spirit)? Commercial options are ok, if you have firsthand experience. I do need to compile on Linux as well.
