  • CPU / Affinity mask problem in SQL 2005

    Hi folks, Having a problem with a SQL Server which was virtualised. The CPU mask was set on the physical host for some reason and now advanced options are not available. So I need to reconfigure the CPU affinity mask settings - which are advanced options, so this is blocked because of the affinity mask issue. I've tried doing this from the SQL server in single user command line mode, I've googled and found lots of people with similar problems but no real solution. I'm stumped. Any ideas? Sample commands and output from query analyser below. sp_configure 'show advanced options', 1 GO RECONFIGURE WITH OVERRIDE GO sp_configure 'affinity mask', 0x00000000 GO RECONFIGURE GO ----------------------------------------- Configuration option 'show advanced options' changed from 0 to 1.     [MainViewController _resignRootViewController]: message sent to deallocated instance 0x4ebfe50 This error happens when I try to pop my MainViewController Object from within it self: - (void) switchToTableView { //a method on the MainViewController [self.navigationController popViewControllerAnimated:NO]; [[UIApplication applicationDelegate] switchToTableView]; //convenience method for the app delegate } The debugger stops at the [super dealloc] command in MainViewControllers dealloc method. I do the exact same thing in the TripTableViewController, but here it never crashes. MainViewController and TripTableViewController are handled in my AppDelegate like this: - (void) switchToTableView { TripTableViewController *tripTableViewController = [[TripTableViewController alloc] init]; [[self.navigationController navigationBar] setHidden:NO]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:tripTableViewController animated:NO]; [tripTableViewController release]; } - (void) switchToScrollView { MainViewController *scrollView = [[MainViewController alloc] init]; [[self.navigationController navigationBar] setHidden:YES]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:scrollView animated:NO]; [scrollView release]; } I am trying to achieve that when the user goes from TripTableViewController to MainViewController; TripTableViewController is released/popped and visa versa for the MainViewController. I do not wish for the navigationController to make the decision about when to pop/cache/release them, this is why I try to do it from within it self. I have not been able to find the _resignRootViewController mentioned anywhere. My guess is that it is a delegate message sent by a ViewController that resigns as rootViewController for a navigationController and that somehow it is called twice, once before MainViewCOntroller is released/popped and somehow again afterwards. Have any one else seen this error message before? Google and the Apple Docs does not mention it? How can I debug such an error? Hope someone can guide me in the right direction on this one, Thanks:)

    I just downloaded the DotNetOpenAuth library and ran the AuthConsumer demo. It is an excellent library so far! Everything worked as advertised, which has not been my experience with a lot of Facebook and Twitter sample code that I have been working with recently. What I am trying to figure out is: How do I tweet using this library? I am currently planning to implement this in ASP MVC, but my initial thoughts is that the presentation platform doesn't matter all that much at the level I'm looking at.

  • Response time increasing (worsening) over time with consistent load

    Ok. I know I don't have a lot of information. That is, essentially, the reason for my question. I am building a game using Flash/Flex and Rails on the back-end. Communication between the two is via WebORB. Here is what is happening. When I start the client an operation calls the server every 60 seconds (not much, right?) which results in two database SELECTS and an UPDATE and a resulting response to the client. This repeats every 60 seconds. I deployed a test version on heroku and NewRelic's RPM told me that response time degraded over time. One client with one task every 60 seconds. Over several hours the response time drifted from 150ms to over 900ms in response time. I have been able to reproduce this in my development environment (my Macbook Pro) so it isn't a problem on Heroku's side. I am not doing anything sophisticated (by design) in the server app. An action gets called, gets some data from the database, performs an AR update and then returns a response. No caching, etc. Any thoughts? Anyone? I'd really appreciate it.

  • sqlldr job not running through Autosys

    I have a shell script that if run manually or via Cron executes fine and loads a delimited file using sqlldr to the database successfully. However via Autosys the script executes, sqlldr says it was successful, however the data is never actually loaded into the database. Has anyone ever experienced this before with the sqlldr/Autosys combination, and if so, knows of a workaround/fix?

  • Ubuntu 9.10 is not starting on netbook

    I installed Ubuntu 9.10 onto my external hard drive cause it's cool to be able to borrow a friend's laptop and be able to have my entire system. It works on the 2 systems i tested it on: my desktop and my mom's laptop. I had to work on something earlier so i borrowed my friend's netbook. I started it up, chose Ubuntu 9.10.20 and it got to the Ubuntu loading screen with the 3 people holding hands right before user selection then it suddenly went black. Naturally, i freaked out because it wasn't my laptop. I held the power button down and reset the netbook but the screen was still black, it didn't even show the BIOS. I repeated the process without my hard drive, and it was still black without the BIOS showing up. I had to remove the battery, plug it to a power source, and power up to start the netbook up again. Can anyone tell me what happened?

  • Any "Magic Tricks" For Getting Data Back After Windows 7 Install

    My old man installed Windows 7 without making a proper backup, and now realizes he left behind some important data. He did a true "clean install", so there is no Windows.old folder in the root directory. However, I believe the format performed on the hard drive was only a quick format, so I am hoping there is some chance at data recovery. I took his hard drive out, and have spent a majority of the weekend researching data recovery options. I paid $70 for the GetDataBack software, but have had little success with it. I can see all of the files I want to restore, however they appear corrupt when I try to open them. With that all being said, does anyone know of a viable way to recover some of this data, or is it a lost cause all together?
