How to stop receiving data after 1000 miliseconds? ?

  • JQUERY common function library create script errors. How to avoid?

    Hi all, I am building a common function library but the functions inside need to reference different jquery files, which they may need to be referenced in some pages but not in others. When I called this common function library in one web page which is only going to use one function, and I don't reference the files need it for the other function, then it will create a script error. My question is if it would be possible to stop this script errors like... //This if statement is what I was thinking to stop going through if ($(".objectdate") != null){ //This is the function that is calling other jquery files and creates error. $(document).ready(function() { $(".objectdate").datepicker({ //Code inside. }); }); } Thanks.

  • Convert PDF to PDF/A-1

    I know this probably is not strictly a programming-question (well maybe it is, i don't know) but i'm having serious problems trying to convert a regular pdf (with hyperlinks, bookmarks, images, embedded fonts etc.) into a PDF/A-1 format. I get all kinds of errors when i check it with pdfaPilot. How can i prepare a pdf so no problems will occur when i try to convert to PDF/A-1. Most problems can be fixed with pdfaPilot but apparently not all. One of the problems i get is with the XMP Metadata which are "not properly defined". Wat exactly does this mean, and can i do something to prevent this. Another one is: "Syntax problem: Array with more than 8191 elements" (i hope this one is solvable) I hope someone can help me out here, since i'm in a tight spot right now with deadlines that are killing me.

  • OpenCV Video capture and fps problem

    Hi to all, I'm capturing video from my webcam using OpenCV on MacOSX. It works fine but when I try to play on QuickTime my captured video it plays too fast. i.e. I capture from camera for 10 seconds but when I play on QuickTime the video is 2 seconds. I've tried to change fps from 25 to 10 and It's works quite fine, but I'm sure it's not the correct process: CvVideoWriter *writer = 0; int isColor = 1; int fps = 25; int frameW = 640; // 744 for firewire cameras int frameH = 480; // 480 for firewire cameras The problem is that for now I've to capture with WebCam but the real pourpose of program is to capture image from any external source connected to my Mac. I'm using this code to capture: for (;;) { cvGrabFrame(capture) image = cvRetrieveFrame(capture); cvWriteFrame( writer, image ); } Any hint? I'm also showing webcam output on cvNamedWindow, how can I improve quality in this windows? thanks a lot to all! Andrea!

  • How can I force the server socket to re-accept a request from a client?

    For those who does not want to read a long question here is a short version: A server has an opened socket for a client. The server gets a request to open a socket from the same client-IP and client-port. I want to fore the server not to refuse such a request but to close the old socket and open a new one. How can I do ti? And here is a long (original) question: I have the following situation. There is an established connection between a server and client. Then an external software (Bonjour) says to my client the it does not see the server in the local network. Well, client does nothing about that because of the following reasons: If Bonjour does not see the server it does not necessarily means that client cannot see the server. Even if the client trusts the Bonjour and close the socket it does not improve the situation ("to have no open socket" is worser that "to have a potentially bad socket"). So, client do nothing if server becomes invisible to Bonjour. But than the server re-appears in the Bonjour and Bonjour notify the client about that. In this situation the following situations are possible: The server reappears on a new IP address. So, the client needs to open a new socket to be able to communicate with the server. The server reappears on the old IP address. In this case we have two subcases: 2.1. The server was restarted (switched off and then switched on). So, it does not remember the old socket (which is still used by the client). So, client needs to close the old socket and open a new one (on the same server-IP address and the same server-port). 2.2. We had a temporal network problem and the server was running the whole time. So, the old socket is still available for the use. In this case the client does not really need to close the old socket and reopen a new one. But to simplify my life I decide to close and reopen the socket on the client side in any case (in spite on the fact that it is not really needed in the last described situation). But I can have problems with that solution. If I close the socket on the client side and than try to reopen a socket from the same client-IP and client-port, server will not accept the call for a new socket. The server will think that such a socket already exists. Can I write the server in such a way, that it does not refuse such calls. For example, if it (the server) sees that a client send a request for a socket from the same client-IP and client-port, it (server) close the available socket, associated with this client-IP and client-port and than it reopens a new socket.

  • anti-if campaign

    I recently ran against a very interesting site that expresses a very interesting idea - the anti-if campaign. You can see this here at www.antiifcampaign.com. I have to agree that complex nested IF statements are an absolute pain in the rear. I am currently on a project that up until very recently had some crazy nested IFs that scrolled to the right for quite a ways. We cured our issues in two ways - we used Windows Workflow Foundation to address routing (or workflow) concerns. And we are in the process of implementing all of our business rules utilizing ILOG Rules for .NET (recently purchased by IBM!!). This for the most part has cured our nested IF pains...but I find myself wondering how many people cure their pains in the manner that the good folks at the AntiIfCampaign suggest (see an example here) by creating numerous amounts of abstract classes to represent a given scenario that was originally covered by the nested IF. I wonder if another way to address the removal of this complexity might also be in using an IoC container such as StructureMap to move in and out of different bits of functionality. Either way... Question: Given a scenario where I have a nested complex IF or SWITCH statement that is used to evaluate a given type of thing (say evaluating an Enum) to determine how I want to handle the processing of that thing by enum type - what are some ways to do the same form of processing without using the IF or SWITCH hierarchical structure? public enum WidgetTypes { Type1, Type2, Type3, Type4 } ...   • Pageview implementation

    Hi everyone I want to add a pageview feature on my current web application. This page view is based on the count of user viewing the page. It must be unique, i.e. I must not view a person's page 10000 times and record it as 10000 views, just record 1 view instead. My question is, should I base my pageview count on IP address? If not, what is/are the best approach in doing this? I know that if the person has logged in to my system, I can simply use the user id stored in the session and check on the record if the user has/hasn't viewed the page and update accordingly. But for "anonymous" viewers, what is the best approach? Thanks. PS How does Youtube does it?

    In Germany, mobile carriers often provide a simple way to configure your mobile phone for MMS and GPRS: After keying in your phone number and device model on the carrier's website, you get a "configuration sms" sent to you. I'm trying to understand how that works from a technical standpoint. I have scanned through 3GPP TS 03.40 (http://www.3gpp.org/ftp/Specs/html-info/0340.htm), but haven't been able to find much. Also, the fact that one has to provide the phone model indicates that it is a provider specific thing and not standardized? Does anyone have any pointers for me? Also I'd be interested how the "internet-enabling" process looks like in other countries. Anyone care to share?

  • Can Linux works as 802.1X authenticator in bridge mode ?

    I want to create a lab for my students with netkit (a network emulator based on 802.1X) to study 802.1X. I can create the authentication server (FreeRadius) and configure the client with XSupplicant connected by a switch (a Linux in bridge mode). I'm looking to a way to configure the switch as Authenticator, i.e.: when the client is connected, the switch only forwards EAP packets to the authentication server. then the switch lets the user access to the local network when the authentication server authorizes the client. At the present time there is a lot of documentation to do this with a wireless point but no one for a switch. Does anyone have an idea or know the good software for it ?

  • Problem with Strange VMWare behaviour when shutting down guest.

    Hi, I've been having a problem for a while now with VMWare Workstaion. (Originally with 6.5, but now with 7.0 and 7.0.1 too). The problem occurs when I choose to shut down a guest. VMWare itself seems to hang. If I choose to shut down a guest that's opened full screen, and during the process I minimise the screen to work on other applications in the host, often (not all the time) when I return to the guest I have a 'greyed out' screen and the system becomes unresponsive. The host O/S still seems to be working, but I am unable to switch to other applications. (I can bring up the taskbar on the host and 'see' other applications and even switch to them, but VMWare still stays 'on top' being unresponsive). I can not terminate VMWare even when windows says that the application has become unresponsive and gives me the option to terminate. VMWare stays on top, and I'm forced to either shutdown, or log off and log back on in order to regain control of my computer. This happens with both Windows 7 and Windows Vista guest operating systems (32 bit), and I have had it happen on multiple host machines, and multiple guest machines too. Current Host: Windows 7 64 bit, 8GB Ram, 500GB HDD, i7 Processor. I have been searching for more than 6 months for a solution but have found none, so finally decided to post here. Does anyone know what might be causing the problem (+or even how to minimize the VM so I can at least access any other applications and save work before forcing a logoff / reboot+) would be extrememly handly. If I know the correct keystrokes to save and close in an application on the host I can do this by task-switching to the desired app to save and close successfully, but I can't see what I'm doing because VMWare Workstation is still on-top 'greyed' out.   • Easy Install Resets Hardware Settings

    I think there's a problem with the Easy Install setup. I selected "Installer disc image," and it came up and said that it would use "Easy Install," I think I hit next, and then I went back changed my mind, and selected "I will install the operating system later." After finishing the wizard, I think it still went and ran Easy Install, because it auto-installed VMware tools and I never got to select anything for my windows setup. Then, when it was finished, all the hardware changes I had made were lost. The RAM was changed from 2 GB back to the default of 1 GB, my CD ROM drive was set back to "Use a Physical Drive" and "Connect at Power On", and the Floppy Drive was also set to "Connect at Power On", after I disabled them. I was trying to install Windows 7, and I wasn't sure if I could change the RAM settings after installation without needing to reactivate it, so I deleted the VM and tried to start over. This time, the "Installer disc image" had my Win7 image pre-selected, so I clicked "I will install it myself later," set my hardware again, and tried to boot off my CD. Again,it did an Easy Install, and reset my RAM and my drive settings. So I deleted it again and the third time it still had the Win7 image pre-selected, but this time I unplugged all the drives and let it try to boot off the empty harddrive and fail, and made sure it kept all my hardware settings. Then, I powered it off, put my Win7 image in the guest CD ROM, and powered it on. This time it finally let me run the installer and pick my language, and type a user name. This time when I powered it off it kept my hardware settings. I can duplicate the error by doing exactly the steps above. Creating a new VM, selecting my "Installer Image," hitting next, going back, selecting "I will Install it myself," and then finish the wizard, and customizing my hardware right before the end, setting the CD Rom drive to the same installer media, and setting "Connect on Power On." (If I start it without the CD ROM in the first time, it doesn't do it). When I power on, I'm not prompted for any install information (like language and user name), and when it runs the first timemy hardware choices are reset (like the RAM back to 1 GB). If it helps, I'm running VMware Workstation 7.0.1 build-227600 on Gentoo Linux

  • Using foreach loop.

    I break the code of the for loop without using break like I have for loop given below.And when i is 1 or 2 or 3 or any else but if condition is true then loop will be terminated because i will be 5 if the condition is true.And so NO need of break is needed there.Beacause I do not want to use break.I have done like this here.It works. bool myCondition=false; for(int i=0;i<5;i++) { if(myCondition) { i=5; } } But now I want to use foreach loop and in this loop when some condition is true then I want to break the foreach loop code.So what should I do here for breaking the foreach loop code without using break ? Like in the above for loop I have initialize i to 5 when condition is true.In the foreach loop anything like that to do to avoid break.

    Hi, I have a class, let's say User adnotated with @XmlRootElement, with some properties (name, surname etc). I use this class for REST operations, as application/xml. The client will POST User class so i want to keep the values in the log. Is there any method in jax-ws to prints out this object as xml?   • Adding code to the beginning / end of methods in runtime dynamically

    I know instrumentation is a technique to add trace code dynamically into the methods to enable tracing and debugging. I was wondering if this is only a "Trace" option, hard coded into the CLR to add only trace code, or is there the ability to add any code to the methods? For example, I want to check for a condition in the beginning of every single method call in a certain class (say for permissions). Can I do this via adding dynamic code to the beginning of the methods in execution time? I'm not sure how this trace "instrumentation" thing works, but I'm wondering if this can be used for other goals too, or not.

    Hello, I have the following problems: First: I am trying to do a 32-spaces bitwise left shift on a large number, and for some reason the number is always returned as-is. For example: echo(516103988<<32); // echoes 516103988 Because shifting the bits to the left one space is the equivalent of multiplying by 2, i tried multiplying the number by 2^32, and it works, it returns 2216649749795176448. Second: I have to add 9379 to the number from the above point: printf('%0.0f', 2216649749795176448 + 9379); // prints 2216649749795185920 Should print: 2216649749795185827

  • Spring MVC: How to resolve the path to subdirectories of the root 'JSP' folder in a web application

    What is a simple way to resolve the path to a JSP file that is not located in the root JSP directory of a web application using SpringMVCs viewResolvers? For example, suppose we have the following web application structure: web-app |-WEB-INF |-jsp |-secure |-admin.jsp |-admin2.jsp index.jsp login.jsp I would like to use some out-of-the-box components to resolve the JSP files within the jsp root folder and the secure subdirectory. Is there a way to handle subdirectories like this? I would prefer to keep this structure because I'm also trying to make use of Spring Security and having all secure pages in a subdirectory is a nice way to do this. There's probably a simple way to acheive this but I'm new to Spring and the Spring MVC framework so any pointers would be appreciated.
