  • python dictionary conversion from string?

    if I've string like "{ partner_name = test_partner}" OR " { partner_name : test_partner } its an example string will be very complex with several special characters included like =, [ , ] , { , } what will be the best way to convert it into a python object - so I can process it I tried with eval but it requires " ' " for string, but how can we add this special character \' before starting and ending of every word, I tried regular express re.findal('\w+') but it fails when my string contains ' _ ' or like characters as it will separate the string by ' _ ' Object of this question is my application needs, user friendly language as input - and I thought Json Dict will be good - but user is lazzy to put " ' " before and after of each string... then I thought for yaml but its also complex, if anybody can suggest better user friendly input which I use as python object - then please help me out.

    I wan to send the message to multiple contacts in the contactlist for(int j=0;j<vector.size();j++){ listofContacts=new ListofContacts(); listofContacts=(ListofContacts)vector.elementAt(j); list.setFitPolicy(1); list.append(listofContacts.contactname + " "+ listofContacts.contactno,null); System.out.println(listofContacts.contactname + " "+ listofContacts.contactno); } here i have taken all the contacts of contact list in vector and the listofcontacts is the class containing the name and number. To show the list of contacts for selection i am using list control with multiple choice. The code is working fine and message is sent to all the contacts which are selected by the user but as we know there may be 1000 of contacts in phonebook and in these case to select a particular user we have to scroll down the list. Now how to keep the search facility so that we can directly go to the required contact and if it is not possible with the list control which control is to be used so that multiple contacts can be selected and also search facility is available.

  • Python: Huge file reading by using linecache Vs normal file access open()

    Hi, I am in a situation where multiple threads reading the same huge file with mutliple file pointers to same file. The file will have atleast 1 million lines. Eachline's length varies from 500 characters to 1500 characters. There won't "write" operations on the file. Each thread will start reading the same file from different lines. Which is the efficient way..? Using the Python's linecache or normal readline() or is there anyother effient way?

  • Firefox does not redirect to correct page.

    I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 and Firefox 3.6.3. If I type wrong URL like youtube, it won't redirect me to the correct site. Instead the address would be jar:file:///usr/lib/firefox-3.6.3/chrome/en-US.jar!/locale/browser-region/region.propertiesyoutube and Firefox can't find any page.

    Often when I open an app in windows xp it takes so long to load that I start using another app that is already open, start typing, then when the app I was trying to open finally does open it then takes my focus away and I loose a large chunk of what I was typing..     I have created a DetachedCriteria that is retrieving estates that have the isApproved and isPublished set to true. It is defined in this way: DetachedCriteria activePublishedCriteria = DetachedCriteria.forClass(Estate.class) .add(Restrictions.eq("isApproved", true)) .add(Restrictions.eq("isPublished", true)) .setResultTransformer(Criteria.DISTINCT_ROOT_ENTITY); I would like to reuse this criteria in some of the queries. In this case I would like to replace the isApproved and isPublished restrictions with the DetachedCriteria Criteria criteria = getSession().createCriteria(Estate.class) .createAlias("city", "c") .add(Restrictions.eq("c.id", cityID)) // the following 2 lines should be use the DetachedCriteria .add(Restrictions.eq("isApproved", true)) .add(Restrictions.eq("isPublished", true)) .setProjection(Projections.rowCount()); return (Integer) criteria.list().get(0); Is there a way to do this ? Tried to use .add.Subqueries.geAll(.... But cannot make it work properly. I could not find proper documentation on the Subqueries in Hibernate. Tips are welcomed.

  • SQL Server stored procedure + set error message from the records of a table

    Hello, My question is I have a table with the set of records. I am calling a stored procedure for some other purpose. But when ever it finds some duplicate records. It need to return as error message back to php. C1 C2 c3 abc 32 21.03.2010 def 35 04.04.2010 pqr 45 30.03.2010 abc 12 04.05.2010 xyz 56 01.03.2010 ghi 21 06.05.2010 def 47 17.02.2010 klm 93 04.03.2010 xyz 11 01.03.2010 For the above set it need to check for the records that has the same c1. The stored procedure should return as abc,def,xyz are duplicate. I tried something like this. This will not work it has more than 1 set of duplicate records. Please help me to enhance this to solve the purpose. SET @duplicate = (SELECT c1 FROM temp GROUP BY c1 HAVING count(c1) > 1) --Check for duplicate concession Nr.   • File upload issue

    I am working on a PHP based, ticket management system. While creating a ticket, one can upload an attachment. I want to put a limit (say 10 MB) per file upload. To implement this I plan the following- 1. In php.ini set post_max_size = 10M 2.In PHP script which receives the POST- Since the file is larger than post_max_size, $_FILES[] will be empty. But I can still check the content-length header and discard the upload, if size more than 10M. While testing this I tried uploading a file of 1 GB and analysed the http traffic and this is what I found. - the entire 1 GB data is first uploaded to a to the server temporarily and discarded once the http request completes. Though I couldn't exactly find out where the file was getting saved(as it was not there in the temporary directory in the server.), but my http traffic analyzer showed that the browser did send 1 GB data to the server. - the PHP script execution started only after completion of the http request(i.e after uploading the entire 1 GB) Now I have 2 concerns: a) People may exploit my server bandwidth by trying to upload large file, which I will have to discard anyways. b) Even worse, if someone starts uploading a huge file (say 100 GB), entire 100 GB data is first uploaded to the server temporarily, that means for that period, it will consume that much of memory on my server. What's the common solution for this. Am I missing something here?

    Hello! Im new att widgets, but i have manage to write my own widget and get it to display correctly in my theme. The only problem i have now is that i want the widget to "auto activate" in the sidebar. So when the theme is installed on any wordpress installation the widget should be active so the user dosent need to drag it to the sidebar in admin. Is that possible?

  • Namespace and class conflict(?)

    This is a bad title for the question, but I'm not quite sure of a better one. I have a namespace called Globals with a class X in it. I also have a class called Globals. When I try to access Globals.X.StaticMember it tries to access the class Globals.X and complains that X doesn't exist. How do I reference the namespace Globals - ie ::Globals.X.StaticMember (:: doesn't compile).
