  • flood fill algorithm

  • Trouble with loading jquery onload.

    Hi guys, I'm trying to build some jquery tabs based on the request (which is stored in a table). I have two pages sharing one .js file. One page is for the user to create the request, and the other is for the administrator to approve/deny the request. On the admin page, here is my javascript code: $(function() { GetRequest(); }); Which is just calling a function I have inside my .js file. All the code in the .js file is also wrapped in a '$(function(){ //...code here })'. The problem is the function isn't built yet when calling it from the page. Is there a way I can tell the page to wait until the script is complete?

    I'm using rails 3.0beta3. In my index.html.erb and in my index.js.erb, if I have: <%= "string with unsafe characters' like <" %> It will automatically be encoded to: string with unsafe characters&quot; like &amp; just the same as if I had used: <%=h "string with unsafe characters' like <" %> How do I get it to stop? I have stored some short bits of JavaScript that I need to insert into the template without it automatically encoding the string?

  • Please clarify a few points concerning Java Servlets

    suppose, I use Tomcat as a web container. Is it true that once all the servlets found in a web-app/WEBAPPNAME are init(IALIZED) then every change of a Servlet's property will be seen to every session. So session 1 changes a property userName of a Servlet1 from "user1" to "user2" session 1 is closed. session 2 starts. It will see "user2" as the only value of Servlet1.userName property?? Any change of a Servlet's field will be seen to all subsequent sessions? Are servlets singletons, aren't they?

  • Communication between multiple servers

    How could a network of servers communicate with each other? For example, if Client A connects to Server A, how would the other servers be informed of this? I'm guessing you would need a "central" server, but how would it be implemented? I'm really dumbfounded on this, so any help would be nice :)

  • emacs: is there a semantic-jump-to-declaration (using semantic.el)?

    Suppose I am editing a buffer containing C code. I have started semantic with semantic-load-enable-code-helpers . I have point placed on the name of a function . If I then invoke senator-jump I can jump to the place where that fn is first declared, in that module. What if it is an extern? Is it possible to use senator to jump to the definition of the fn, which resides in a separate module? Thanks.

    Hey everyone, I'm developing a new ASP.NET MVC 2.0 application and wanting to use the new ASP.NET 4 encoding blocks. My View code contains <%: Model.ActivityName %> however Visual Studio is reporting: Unexpected toke at the position of the : (colon). When I run the application I get the following compilation error: Compiler Error Message: CS1525: Invalid expression term ':' What am i missing? Cheers for any help/advice.

  • Function naming: sendCharacter or receiveCharacter?

    I'm trying to name a function that runs when a character is received by the object. For the caller, it should be named sendCharacter, so that it can call: object->sendCharacter( character ) ; That looks nice for the caller.. but for the receiver, it implements a method /// Called when this object is do something /// with a character /// from the caller void sendCharacter( char c ) ; So for the recipient class, it looks like this method will actually send a character out, not receive one. So then, I could call the function receiveCharacter /// Called when this object is do something /// with a character /// from the caller void receiveCharacter( char c ) ; But now the caller does this: object->receiveCharacter( character ) ; Which just looks odd. How can I better name this function?

  • Testing sample code in python modules

    I'm in the process of writing a python module that includes some samples. These samples aren't unit-tests, and they are too long and complex to be doctests. I'm interested in best practices for automatically checking that these samples run. My current project layout is pretty standard, except that there is an extra top level makefile that has build, install, unittest, coverage and profile targets, that delegate responsibility to setup.py and nose as required. projectname/ Makefile README setup.py samples/ foo-sample foobar-sample projectname/ __init__.py foo.py bar.py tests/ test-foo.py test-bar.py I've considered adding a sampletest module, or adding nose.tools.istest decorators to the entry-point functions of the samples, but for a small number of samples, these solutions sound a bit ugly. This question is similar to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/301365/automatically-unit-test-example-code, but I assume python best practices will differ from C#

  • Oracle EXECUTE IMMEDIATE changes explain plan of query.

    I have a stored procedure that I am calling using EXECUTE IMMEDIATE. The issue that I am facing is that the explain plan is different when I call the procedure directly vs when I use EXECUTE IMMEDIATE to call the procedure. This is causing the execution time to increase 5x. The main difference between the plans is that when I use execute immediate the optimizer isn't unnesting the subquery (I'm using a NOT EXISTS condition). We are using Rule Based Optimizer here at work. Example: Fast: begin package.procedure; end; / Slow: begin execute immediate 'begin package.' || proc_name || '; end;'; end; /

  • Change notification in EF EntityCollection

    Hi everybody! In a Silverlight 4 proj i'm using WCF RIA services, MVVM principles and EF 4. I 'm running into this situation: created an entity called Category and another one called CategoryLocale (automated using VS, no POCO). The relation between them is 1 to N respectively (one Category can have many CategoryLocales), so trough this relationship one can implement master-detail scenarios. Everytime i change a property in the master record (Category) i get a notifypropertychanged notification raised. But: whenever i change a property in the detail (CategoryLocales) i don't get anything raised. The detail part is bound to a Datagrid like this: <sdk:DataGrid Grid.Row="3" Grid.ColumnSpan="2" ItemsSource="{Binding SelectedRecord.CategoryLocales,Mode=TwoWay}" AutoGenerateColumns="False" VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Auto" > Any help is appreciated!
