It looks like Palm's webOS software won't just go into phones and tablets. HP is looking to use the lightweight OS in one of the products it's most famous for producing: laser printers.

I am using Ubuntu Karmic desktop. I want to install Ubuntu 8.04 LTS server in a chroot environment. Can anyone provide instructions on how to do this?. A Google search does not bring up anything useful (perhaps I am searching using the wrong keywords)
Basically like some of my own that I've posted below. I'm looking for added functionality to the programme 'screen'. At the very least have a look at the last line for a fantastic 'menu bar' at the bottom of a screen session.

Hello guys,
We are using IIS 6 as our webserver. And we need to deny the access for one specif file, placed in only one specific URL, to everybody OUTSIDE the local network.
In other words, if somebody is trying to access that filme/page from their own computer at home, using the internet, they must not succeed. But, if the same person try to do that at the same network of the web server, its ok.
I am not sure about that, but Apache uses ORDER DENY,ALLOW. You specify the URL, allow or deny to all or to a range of IP.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
I'm trying to update some info into database but for some reasons it doesn't update. Also I'm not getting error in the server logs.
mysql_query("UPDATE `view_item` SET `item_number` = $item_number, `title` = $title, `price` = $price, `shipping` = $shipping, `location` = $location, `start_time` = $start_time, `end_time` = $end_time, `seller_userName` = $seller_userName, `seller_UserNum` = $seller_UserNum, `number_of_bids` = $number_of_bids, `picture_link` = $picture_link WHERE `item_number` = $item_number");
When you run git branch -r why the blazes does it list origin/HEAD? For example, there's a remote repo on GitHub, say, with two branches: master and awesome-feature. If I do git clone to grab it and then go into my new directory and list the branches, I see this:
$ git branch -r
origin/HEAD
origin/master
origin/awesome-feature
Or whatever order it would be in (alpha? I'm faking this example to keep the identity of an innocent repo secret). So what's the HEAD business? Is it what the last person to push had their HEAD pointed at when they pushed? Won't that always be whatever it was they pushed? HEADs move around... why do I care what someone's HEAD pointed at on another machine?
I'm just getting a handle on remote tracking and such, so this is one lingering confusion. Thanks!
EDIT: I was under the impression that dedicated remote repos (like GitHub where no one will ssh in and work on that code, but only pull or push, etc) didn't and shouldn't have a HEAD because there was, basically, no working copy. Not so?
Is this another bug of xdebug?
I've already installed the latest version of xdebug for PHP 5.3 yesterday.
Introduction of osCommerce is here.
Here is the problem description:
When I press Resume,the page is directly shown,though there are breakpoints there.
Anyone met this problem?
Hi,
I am new to Flex.
What I am looking for here is adding a click handler on all the items created by a SkinnableDataContainer. I tried several things that didn't work, and I have no idea what is the right way to do it.
<s:SkinnableDataContainer id="teamList"
itemRenderer="TeamSummaryRenderer">
<s:dataProvider>
<s:ArrayList>
<fx:Object teamName="A super team 1"/>
<fx:Object teamName="A super team 2"/>
<fx:Object teamName="A super team 3"/>
</s:ArrayList>
</s:dataProvider>
</s:SkinnableDataContainer>
Furthermore, I don't want to declare the handler in my custom TeamSummaryRenderer component. I would prefer that the handler code stays at application level.
Is there a simple 'Flex-ish' to achieve this ?
Hi all,
My app Windows forms .NET in Win XP copy files pdfs in shared network folder in a server win 2003.
Admin user in Win2003 detects some corrupt files pdfs, in that shared folder.
I want check if a fileis copied right in shared folder
Andre Krijen says me the best way is to create a MD5Hash of original file. When the file is copied, verify the MD5Hash file of the copied one with the original one.
I have big pdf files.
apply md5 hash about big file, any performance problem ??
If I only check (without generate md5 hash) Length of files (original and copied) ??
Thanks in advanced.
Can someone please explain the difference between ViewState and Session?
More specifically, I'd like to know the best way to keep an object available (continuously setting members through postbacks) throughout the lifecycle of my page.
I currently use Sessions to do this, but I'm not sure if it's the best way.
For example:
SearchObject searchObject;
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if(!IsPostBack)
{
searchObject = new SearchObject();
Session["searchObject"] = searchObject;
}
else
{
searchObject = (SearchObject)Session["searchObject"];
}
}
that allows me to use my searchObject anywhere else on my page but it's kind of cumbersome as I have to reset my session var if I change any properties etc.
I'm thinking there must be a better way to do this so that .NET doesn't re-instantiate the object each time the page loads, but also puts it in the global scope of the Page class?
Please advise.
TIA
If I have a method chain like the following:
var abc = new ABC();
abc.method1()
.method2()
.methodThrowsException()
.method3()
;
assuming I've defined method1(), method2() and method3() as
public ABC method1() {
return this;
}
and methodThrowsException() as
public ABC method3() {
throw new ArgumentException();
}
When running the code, is it possible to know which specific line of code has thrown the Exception, or will it just consider all the method chaining as just one line? I've done a simple test and it seems it considers them all as just one line but Method Chaining says
Putting methods on separate lines also
makes debugging easier as error
messages and debugger control is
usually on a line by line basis.
Am I missing something, or does that just not apply to C#?
Thanks
i am trying to set to jpa the new JDBC method which allows the application to be identified with a name it is the setClientInfo() and i could do it using pure JDBC using the lines
Properties jdbcProperties = new Properties();
jdbcProperties.put("user", "system");
jdbcProperties.put("password", "sw01");
jdbcProperties.put("v$session.program", "Clients");
Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection(url,jdbcProperties);
However i have new requirements and i need to make it with JPA EclipseLink i have been googling and could not find something substantial on how to set this property out in JPA i guess it is by annotating something but i do not know what, i was trying to setting the persistence unit by putting the following in the persistence unit:
<properties>
<property name="toplink.ddl-generation" value="create-tables"/>
<property name="v$session.program" value="Clients"/>
</properties>
but no lucky ...does somebody know how to do it or any idea...?
thanks in advanced.-
I'm running Python 3.1 on Windows and I'm trying to distribute my Pygame script as an executable via cx_Freeze. Right now it seems to be working except that the exe build can't load any of my images:
Cannot load image: C:\path\to\build\exe.win32-3.1\resources\image.png
File is not a Windows BMP file
Googling has revealed that this happens when the SDL imaging library doesn't get included correctly. However, SDL_image.dll and libpng12-0.dll are both put by cx_Freeze into my build directory, so it seems to me like everything should be fine. Why wouldn't it be able to load PNG images?
I am Using Oracle 9i and I want to use continue statement or its equivalent in PL/SQL. So is there any keyword called "continue" in oracle 9i. If not, please let me know the solution for this.
I'm noob and need some basic 101.
I need to display content from my "home" page. The page has the following attributes:
Name
Billboard
Left column
Center column
Right column
Bottom column
Tags
Currently I use {$module_result.content} which outputs everything on that page.
But I only want to output the content from Billboard and Center column. How can I do this?
I want to read pattern for JST formatDate also from resource bundle but this naive approach does not working, what I'm doing wrong ?
in com/company/MyPortlet.properties is this key:
company.date.format = yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss
In page I have:
<fmt:setBundle basename="com.company.MyPortlet"/>
<fmt:formatDate value="${date}" pattern="${company.date.format}" />
Hi,
How can I take a line like this:
Digital Presentation (10:45), (11:30), 12:00, 12:40, 13:20, 14:00, 14:40, 15:20, 16:00, 16:40, 17:20, 18:00, 18:40, 19:20, 20:00, 20:40, 21:20, 22:00, 22:40, 23:10, 23:40.
And match all the 24 hour times so I can convert to a more human readable format using date()?
Also I want to match times in the 24:00-24:59 range too
Thanks!
I've noticed that the brightness of computer monitors drastically varies between computers.
As such, this changes the look of web pages greatly.
Is there a way to use JavaScript to automatically detect how bright (or dark) a users monitor is so that I can adjust my web page colors accordingly?
UPDATE
Please note that I do not want manual user involvement. I want this detection to be automatic so that users don't realize I dynamically change the color palette automatically based on the brightness/darkness of their monitor.
