• What does your Technical Documentation look like?

  I'm working on a large project and I would like to put together some technical documentation for other members of the team and for new programmers joining the project. What sort of documentation should I have? Just /// code comments or some other file(s) explaining the architechure and class design? I've never really done documentation except the occasional word doc to go with smaller apps, and I think this project is too large to doc in a single word file.

  Hi all, I have an to set background image. it is a red line under the input value. background-attachment:scroll; background-color:#FFFFFF; background-image:url("../images/errorLine.gif"); background-position:left bottom; background-repeat:repeat-x; the input value is like "123; 456; 789;". the red line cover all the string, its length is the same as the input width. • How to configure the web page of a web application to be browsed maximized ?

  I have developed a web project using PowerBuilder V12.0 and it is published in ASP.net web file formats (*.aspx). I have hosted my web project on a web server machine with operating system (Windows Server 2003 - Enterprise Edition) and IIS V6.0 as Web Server Hosting Application. I would like to make the home page (Default.aspx) opened maximized so that no internet toolbars appears in the Internet Explorere or any other internet browser like Firefox and so on. It seems this is a web server configuration and setting as now I host the same web application in two development web servers and it opens maximized in one of them and opens normal in the other so No changes are needed in the web project files. I do not know exactly what is this option or configuration,, Is there a property like window size or width and height in web configuration files like web.config and machine.config ? I guess there is a property like WindowSize:Maximized. If you had experience with that before please let me know the options and configurations needed to do that. Thanks for your help.

  Hi Im new to android. Currently I have a View which has a AsyncTask class used for decoding. But eventhough AsyncTask.cancel() is not called within my class, onCancelled() has been called which resulted to some abnormal process in my application. I would like to ask if what are any instances that AsyncTask.onCancelled() will be called besides when calling the AsyncTask.cancel() Any help would be appreciated. Thanks alot in advance

• How do I add values in an array when there is a null entry?

  I want to create a real time-series array. Currently, I am using the statistics gem to pull out values for each 'day': define_statistic :sent_count, :count => :all, :group => 'DATE(date_sent)', :filter_on => {:email_id => 'email_id > = ?'}, :order => 'DATE(date_sent) ASC' What this does is create an array where there are values for a date, for example [["12-20-2010",1], ["12-24-2010",3]] But I need it to fill in the null values, so it looks more like: [["12-20-2010",1], ["12-21-2010",0], ["12-22-2010",0], ["12-23-2010",0], ["12-24-2010",3]] Notice how the second example has "0" values for the days that were missing from the first array.

  i have this function that gives me an output of a number. The web service gets document meta data from SharePoint, it running on a server where I cant debug but with logging I confirmed that the method enters and exits successfully.   On one of my PostgreSQL tables, I have a set of two fields that will be defined as being unique in the table, but will also both be used together when selecting data. Given this, do I only need to define a UNIQUE INDEX, or should I specify an INDEX in addition to the UNIQUE INDEX? This? CREATE UNIQUE INDEX mytable_col1_col2_idx ON mytable (col1, col2); Or this?   I know MD5's safety is under question lately and this is the reason a lot of people are using salt (I dont understand this at all btw) but I was wondering if you wanted to easily implement a safe system in php can you just md5 something twice? like test 098f6bcd4621d373cade4e832627b4f6 fb469d7ef430b0baf0cab6c436e70375 So basically: $val = 'test'; $val = md5($val); $val = md5($val); Would that solve the whole rainbow security stuff? • How to implement multi relationship in SQL Server?

  I’m trying to design a database to use with ASP.net MVC application. Here is the scenario: There are three entities and users can post their comments for each of these different entities. I just wonder how just put one table for Comments and link all other entities to it. Obviously, Comments table needs 3 references (foreign key) to those tables but as you know these foreign keys can’t be null and just one of them can be filled for each row. Is there any better way than implementing three different tables for each entity’s comments?

  Hi, when building a jar-with-dependencies with the assembly plugin, I get many, many messages like this: META-INF/ already added, skipping It seems to mee, that maven is warning me, that I already have a META-INF in my to-be-created jar, and therefore the META-INF of the to-be-included dependant jar file is not included in my to-be-created jar.   This is more a question to appease my memory in trying to remember what it was I saw a while ago. I remember being introduced to a realtime server visualisation tool that showed the current requests that Apache was handling in a kind of fireworks effect on screen. Each request/group of requests would be shot across the screen in varying colours. I can't for the life for me remember what is was called and hunting around here and Google has left me empty handed. • Oracle sysman password reset and enterprise manager

  We are running oracle 10g.yesterday we had to reset sysman(and all other sys acounts)user with alter user command. Password change command worked by oracle enterprise manager does not see the database running. As per oracle docs,we did change the password(and encryption setting) and restarted the dbconsole service. Password does get encrypted after restarted but em still does not see the database online.   I strongly favor ORDER BY ColumnName. I read one of the blog post where blogger compared the performance of the two SELECT statement and come to conclusion that ColumnNumber has no harm to use it. Let us understand the point made by first that there is no performance difference. Run following two scripts together: USE AdventureWorks GO -- ColumnName (Recommended) SELECT * FROM HumanResources.Department ORDER BY GroupName, Name GO -- ColumnNumber (Strongly Not Recommended) SELECT * FROM HumanResources.Department ORDER BY 3,2 GO If you look at the result and see the execution plan you will see that both of the query will take the same amount of the time. However, this was not the point of this blog post. It is not good enough to stop here. We need to understand the advantages and disadvantages of both the methods. Case 1: When Not Using * and Columns are Re-ordered USE AdventureWorks GO -- ColumnName (Recommended) SELECT GroupName, Name, ModifiedDate, DepartmentID FROM HumanResources.Department ORDER BY GroupName, Name GO -- ColumnNumber (Strongly Not Recommended) SELECT GroupName, Name, ModifiedDate, DepartmentID FROM HumanResources.Department ORDER BY 3,2 GO Case 2: When someone changes the schema of the table affecting column order I will let you recreate the example for the same. If your development server where your schema is different than the production server, if you use ColumnNumber, you will get different results on the production server. Summary: When you develop the query it may not be issue but as time passes by and new columns are added to the SELECT statement or original table is re-ordered if you have used ColumnNumber it may possible that your query will start giving you unexpected results and incorrect ORDER BY. One should note that the usage of ORDER BY ColumnName vs ORDER BY ColumnNumber should not be done based on performance but usability and scalability. It is always recommended to use proper ORDER BY clause with ColumnName to avoid any confusion. I added new field on Joomla's jos_users table, but when I wanted to get that field out, like "echo" - it didn't worked at all. Any other data, even password field I can get without problems.   Hi, my question referenced to my friend. I am trying to use jquery to show flash videos(swf) like a showcase and this is what I am trying to do: Show a video by default and then have "" below that so when an user click on prev or next, it will show the next one and so on. When a video is clicked after making the selection it can either open the video on top of it in a bigger size Or play the video once right there once they click the play button. I have seen examples for images and I tried those but it did not work with flash files. Please let me know if anyone can guide me. I prefer using jquery as there are applications on the site that uses jquery. Also, I just remembered one thing, how to stop the video if they navigate to the next one. This makes me think if its a good idea to do the gallery or showcase for flash videos. Please clarify my questions. thanks

  Using utimes, futimes, futimens, etc., it is possible to set the access and modification timestamps on a file. Is there a function to set change timestamps? (I understand the cyclic nature of wanting to change the change timestamp, but think archiving software - it would be nice to restore a file exactly as it was.) Are there any functions at all for creation timestamps? (I realize that ext2 does not support this, but I was wondering if Linux did, for those filesystems that do support it.) • I get a 400 Bad Request error while using django-piston

  Hello, I am trying to use Piston to provide REST support to Django. I have implemented my handlers as per the documentation provided . The problem is that i can "read" and "delete" my resource but i cannot "create" or "update". Each time i hit the relevant api i get a 400 Bad request Error. I have extended the Resource class for csrf by using this commonly available code snippet: class CsrfExemptResource(Resource): """A Custom Resource that is csrf exempt""" def init(self, handler, authentication=None): super(CsrfExemptResource, self).init(handler, authentication) self.csrf_exempt = getattr(self.handler, 'csrf_exempt', True) My class (code snippet) looks like this: user_resource = CsrfExemptResource(User) class User(BaseHandler): allowed_methods = ('GET', 'POST', 'PUT', 'DELETE') @require_extended def create(self, request): email = request.GET['email'] password = request.GET['password'] phoneNumber = request.GET['phoneNumber'] firstName = request.GET['firstName'] lastName = request.GET['lastName'] self.createNewUser(self, email,password,phoneNumber,firstName,lastName) return rc.CREATED Please let me know how can i get the create method to work using the POST operation?

• Call inner function of jQuery-Plugin-function?

  Hello Everyone, I've written an jQuery-Plugin, which I want to use as Object. So I declared some functions within the plugin, which I want to call from any other location, just like an object with methods. Is that even possible? To keep it simple: (function( $ ){ $.fn.myPlugin = function(){ // Here I want methods... function foo() { // do something... } } })(jQuery); Then I want to call the inner function from outside the plugin like: $.myPlugin.foo(); But that doesn't seem to work. So is it even possible? Or are there any other solutions? I don't want to use an normal unrelated jQuery-Class for this purpose. Because this plugin should work together with some other jQuery-Plugins. Thank you

I am working on my php course project and for the past few days I have stucked at the point where I have to create php function which gets 5 parameters which represents information about the working time of some department - when the work starts/ends, when the lunchtime (or any other break) starts/ends and integer representing minutes into how small piecies we should divide time period. Besides - it's possible that there are not any breaks in the working time. The function should return all intervals from working time. function split_time_into_intervals($work_starts,$work_ends,$break_starts=null; $break_ends=null,$minutes_per_interval=60){ $intervals=array(); //all of the function code return $intervals; } So if I have the following parameters for the function function split_time_into_intervals("8:30","14:50","11:45"; "12:25"){ .. } I would like to retrieve the following array: $intervals[0]['starts']="8:30"; $intervals[0]['ends']="9:30"; $intervals[1]['starts']="9:30"; $intervals[1]['ends']="10:30"; $intervals[2]['starts']="10:30"; $intervals[2]['ends']="11:30"; $intervals[3]['starts']="11:30"; $intervals[3]['ends']="11:45"; //this interval was smaller than 60 minutes - because of the break (which starts at 11:45) $intervals[4]['starts']="12:25";//starts when the break ends $intervals[4]['ends']="13:25"; // interval is again 60 minutes $intervals[5]['starts']="13:25"; $intervals[5]['ends']="14:25"; $intervals[6]['starts']="14:25"; $intervals[6]['ends']="14:50"; //this period is shorter than 60 minutes - because work ends Any advises?
