• C#, Using Custom Generic Collection faster with objects than List

  Hello, I'm using for now List< to iterate through some object collection and find matching element, The problem is that object has only 2 significant values Name and Link (strings) but has some other values wich I dont want to compare. I'm thinkig about using something like HashSet (wich is exactly what I'm searching for - fast) from .NET 3.5 but target framework has to be 2.0. There is something called Power Collections here: http://powercollections.codeplex.com/ But maybe there is other way? If not, can you suggest me a suitable custom collection?

• Which tool to receive customer requirements

  Hi, In my company we want to use Scrum lifecycle, we are using Team System 2010. Team System is great to manage projects developpment and Scrum lifecycle. However we are looking for a solution in order to take care of customers requirements. A tool which give the ability to customer to send us their requests so we can plan it for next sprint. Should i use TFS Web Access ? but which type of Work Item ? I think TFS in general (not only Web Access) is for developpment team, not for customers ... Any idea ? Thanks in advance.

• How to pass parameters to Apache Pivot's wtkx:include tag?

  I need to create a reusable UI component that accepts a number of parameters (e.g. an image URL and some label text), similar to how JSP tags can accept parameters. The Pivot docs for the "wtkx:include" tag say: The tag allows a WTKX file to embed content defined in an external WTKX file as if it was defined in the source file itself. This is useful for ... defining reusable content templates I was hoping that I could define my component in a WTKX file using standard Pivot components (e.g. a TextInput) and pass it one or more parameters; for example my reusable template called "row.wtkx" might contain a row with an image and a text field, like this (where the ${xxx} bits are the parameters): <TablePane.Row xmlns="org.apache.pivot.wtk"> <ImageView image="@images/${image_url}" /> <TextInput text="${title}" /> </TablePane.Row> I could then reuse this component within a TablePane as follows: <rows> <TablePane.Row> <Label text="Painting"/> <Label text="Title"/> </TablePane.Row> <wtkx:include src="row.wtkx" image_url="mona_lisa.jpg" title="Mona Lisa"/> <wtkx:include src="row.wtkx" image_url="pearl_earring.jpg" title="Girl with a Pearl Earring"/> <wtkx:include src="row.wtkx" image_url="melting_clocks.jpg" title="Melting Clocks"/> </rows> I've made up the ${...} syntax myself just to show what I'm trying to do. The ability to pass parameters like this would make the include tag much more powerful, e.g. in my case allow me to eliminate a lot of duplication between the table row declarations. Or is "wtkx:include" not the right way to be doing this?

• rails migration. modify starting point for auto_increment

  I have a table already created. I am looking for a rails migration where I can modify the starting point of the auto_increment number for id column of my table. Let's say I want it to start from 1000. I googled a bit and came across this: it says: :options "string" pass raw options to your underlying database, e.g. auto_increment = 10000. Note that passing options will cause you to lose the default ENGINE=InnoDB statement Can this be used for something I want? and how will the migration look since i am changing the column and not creating new one...

• Using WFC authentication service for web application

  I am using a WFC authentication service I set up with a web application. I have successfully set up and tested the AuthenticationService and RolesService. The web application can successfully call methods like ValidateUser and GetRolesForCurrentUser through the WFC services. I want to integrate the WFC authentication service with my web.config and site.map. Do I need to write a custom provider, or is there some way I can modify the web.config of the web application to use the WFC authentication service as its membership provider? This way I can set what roles have access to what directories based off the WFC authentication service.

• OpenGl texture mapping blocking colours on FreeType?

  I'm using FreeType in order to allow fonts to be used in OpenGL. However, I'm having a problem where I cannot change the font colour whenever I do texture mapping. No matter what I select using glColor3f it will just come out white. The text is not changing to red though which it should; if you remove the texture mapping above it will turn red again, I can only think it is a problem with enabling and disabling and I've forgotten to do something...?

• Jquery Date Picker: Append Start Date to End Date and display dates in the future only.

  Hello, I am using Jquery Date pickers to get Start and End Dates for an application I am building. I have two datepickers, one for a start date and one for an end date. When someone clicks a date in the start date picker I need that date to be appended automatically to the end date picker. I also need the end date picker to select future dates only from the date that has been appended to it. There are two demos on the jquery datepicker site that do what I want, but I am unsure how to combine them to both do what I want. • Setting Position of source and listener has no effect

  Hi Guys, First time i've worked with OpenAL, and for the life of my i can't figure out why setting the position of the source doesn't have any effect on the sound. The sounds are in stero format, i've made sure i set the listener position, the sound is not realtive to the listener and OpenAL isn't giving out any error. Can anyone shed some light?   Hi everyone, I am using jstl with dropdown lists. When i click submit button i success the specification but values int dropdownlists are reinitialized. So I want to submit form without loosing the values already selected in the form because I need to stay always at the same level in the form.To be more clear, user choose a value from ddl and click edit button to show other options and fill them at the same form without loosing what he has selected. I have tried to deal like that... <form action="myjsp.jsp" method="post"> <input type="Submit" value="Edit"> ...but it doesn't work. Thank you for your help.

• What is the proper way to set up the Apache document root in terms of privileges?

  I have just installed Ubuntu 9.10 server edition on my machine and I wish to run my own personal local server with other users in the same LAN. First, I was wondering what folder directory structure is best for the web root? Should I just use: /var/www/ and start throwing web documents there or should I create a folder elsewhere (maybe the home directory)? Second, in the /var/www/ directory only the root user can create documents in there, however, I wish to have other users be able to create files in the document root and upload them via FTP. Should I change the permissions or the www/ folder? Or again, should I create the document root elsewhere with different permissions? What is the safest way of doing this?
