  • How to insert variables in R twitteR updates?

    - by analyticsPierce
Hello, I am using the twitteR package in R to update my twitter status with results from analysis. The static tweet function works: library(twitteR) sess = initSession('username','password') tweet = tweet('I am a tweet', sess) However, when I add a variable to display some specific results I get an error. library(twitteR) sess = initSession('username','password') res = c(3,5,8) msg = cat('Results are: ', res, ', that is nice right?') tweet = tweet(msg, sess) Results in: Error in twFromJSON(rawToChar(out)) : Error: Client must provide a 'status' parameter with a value. Any suggestions are appreciated.

  • How to list manually installed software packages in Ubuntu?

    - by Ivan Petrushev
Hello, I'm using apt-get install to install various software on my PC. I have a handful of PCs that needs the same software packages installed all over them. How can I get list of software installed via apt-get install and the sequence in what the packages are installed. Okay, the sequence is not so important since the package manager resolves dependencies... I want to create a script that once run installs all needed software on the other PCs. All of these PCs are Ubuntu default installations. It is obvious that the packages list must not include all the packages that are installed trough a default installation :) Also that list should not contain software installed via synaptic or dpkg if possible.

Ever since I upgraded my MacBook Pro from Leopard to Snow Leopard I have always had problems with Skype. When I start a video chat, Skype tells me that my camera is not installed on the machine (even though it clearly is). After searching the internet I have found some 'solutions' but none of them work. After trying them, it makes my camera feed appear as a blank, green image. How can I get Skype to function with the built in iSight with Snow Leopard properly? is there any body else face this problem?

  • Where Is SilverLight Toolkit Installed On My PC?

    - by Gopinath
This is first question that ran though my mind once I finished installation of SilverLight Toolkit today. When we install the toolkit, the installation wizard does not ask us for any installation folder options and after completion of installation there will not be any entries in to the All Programs section of start menu. After going through the documents, I found that installer silently places all the binaries, themes, samples documents under program files folder depending on the version of the toolkit. If you installed version 4.0 of the toolkit then it will be placed in the folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Silverlight\v4.0 Here is the list of other useful folder of SilverLight toolkit that we refer to often Bin  C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Silverlight\v4.0\Toolkit\Apr10\Bin   Samples  C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Silverlight\v4.0\Toolkit\Apr10\Samples   Themes  C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Silverlight\v4.0\Toolkit\Apr10\Themes   Source  C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Silverlight\v4.0\Toolkit\Apr10\Source Please note this above listed folder names will not be exactly same on your computer as they vary from one version to another. First open the base folder  C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Silverlight and then navigate through the available folders for locating the required ones. Hope this helps you. • Checking if file exist with RewriteCond in a chained RewriteRule

    - by gelilloabad
Hello, I hope you could help me here. I have a RewriteRule which gives you a crossdomain.xml file depending on the domain name. I have it in a way that ignores the ".dev." string in the middle, example: Request: http://site1.dev.mydomain.com/crossdomain.xml Returns file: /etc/httpd/conf/crossdomain/site.mydomain.com.xml RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} "^(.*)\.dev\.(.*)" RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} "/crossdomain.xml" enter code hereRewriteRule ^(.+) %{HTTP_HOST}$1 [C] RewriteRule ^(.*)\.dev\.([^/]*)/crossdomain.xml /etc/httpd/conf/crossdomain/$1.$2.xml [L] Question: How do I check if the file exists? I tried adding this on top but it doesn't work: RewriteCond /etc/httpd/conf/crossdomain/$1.$2.xml -f I guess because it is a chained rule, no idea. Please help.

  • Did Delphi ever get a for each loop?

    - by Ryan
    Hello, I've read that Delphi was supposed to get a for each loop in Delphi 9. Did this functionality ever make it into the language? My Delphi 2009 IDE doesn't seem to recognize the for each syntax. Here's my code: procedure ProcessDirectory(p_Directory, p_Output : string); var files : TStringList; filePath : string; begin files := GetSubfiles(p_Directory); try for (filePath in files.Strings) do begin // do something end; finally files.Free; end; end;

  • SLES 9 vs. SLES 10

    - by Michael Covelli
Are there any important change in how SLES 10 implements Tcp sockets vs. SLES 9? I have several apps written in C# (.NET 3.5) that run on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. They've been running fine for over a year, getting market data from a SLES 9 machine using a socket connection. The machine was upgraded today to SLES 10 and its causing some strange behavior. The socket normally returns a few hundred or thousand bytes every second. But occasionally, I stop receiving data. Ten or more seconds will go by with no data and then Receive returns with a 10k+ bytes. And some buffer is causing data loss because the bytes I receive on the socket no longer make a correct packet. The only thing changed was the SLES 9 to 10 upgrade. And rolling back fixes this immediately. Any ideas?

  • Is it safe to use random Unicode for complex delimiter sequences in strings?

    - by ccomet
Question: In terms of program stability and ensuring that the system will actually operate, how safe is it to use chars like ¦, § or ‡ for complex delimiter sequences in strings? Can I reliable believe that I won't run into any issues in a program reading these incorrectly? I am working in a system, using C# code, in which I have to store a fairly complex set of information within a single string. The readability of this string is only necessary on the computer side, end-users should only ever see the information after it has been parsed by the appropriate methods. Because some of the data in these strings will be collections of variable size, I use different delimiters to identify what parts of the string correspond to a certain tier of organization. There are enough cases that the standard sets of ;, |, and similar ilk have been exhausted. I considered two-char delimiters, like ;# or ;|, but I felt that it would be very inefficient. There probably isn't that large of a performance difference in storing with one char versus two chars, but when I have the option of picking the smaller option, it just feels wrong to pick the larger one. So finally, I considered using the set of characters like the double dagger and section. They only take up one char, and they are definitely not going to show up in the actual text that I'll be storing, so they won't be confused for anything. But character encoding is finicky. While the visibility to the end user is meaningless (since they, in fact, won't see it), I became recently concerned about how the programs in the system will read it. The string is stored in one database, while a separate program is responsible for both encoding and decoding the string into different object types for the rest of the application to work with. And if something is expected to be written one way, is possibly written another, then maybe the whole system will fail and I can't really let that happen. So is it safe to use these kind of chars for background delimiters?
