  • 8GB Compact Flash Corrupted, Boot Sector Lost ?

    I have an 8GB Kingston compact Flash, and when I insert it into my mac it says that card is unredable and ask me for initialization. If i open Utilty Disk it show a card of 2,2 TB Generic Comact Flash, if I try to initialize that it give me error: POSIX reports: impossible to allocate memory. How i can format that ? There's a way with fdisk or smt to get this card work ? Thanks

  • User error reporting in ASP.NET.

    I want to build user friendly error reporting. Wrong input, db connection errors and such. Problem is i need the same module be implemented for 3 different systems and to use jQuery UI modal boxes for UI. when i redirect to another page ie. db connection error i redirect to error page when i use return to same page ie. input value 1 bigger than value 2 when it should be other way around ASP.NET Ajax UpdatePanel errors, wrong input for controls within UpdatePanel that doesn't do regular postpacks. thanks for any help with implementation...

    I have an XML like <a> <b/> <b c="2"/> </a> I have my XSD <xs:element name="a"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="b" maxOccurs="unbounded"> <xs:attribute name="c" default="1"/> </xs:element> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> I want to use my XSD to validate my original XML and fill all default values: <a> <b c="1"/> <b c="2"/> </a> How do I get it in Python? With validation there is no problem (e.g. XMLSchema). The problem are the default values.

  • Replacing text with image invokes "IE has restricted this page from running scripts or ActiveX"

    I'm making a snippet that people can add to their web sites. My problem is that it invokes the yellow "ActiveX" bar at the top in Internet explorer. I'm not sure what invokes it.   • WCF service returns error 500 on /js request

    I have a wcf service that randomly begins to fail when requesting the autogenerated javascript that wcf supports making. But I have no luck tracking down why. The js thing is part of the wcf featureset, so I dont know how it can suddenly begin to fail and be unable to work until IIS is recycled. The http log gives me: 2010-06-10 09:11:49 W3SVC2095255988 myip GET /path/myservice.svc/js _=1276161113900 80 - ip browser 500 0 0 So its an error 500, and that is about the only thing I can figure out. The event log contains no information. Requests to /path/myservice.svc works just fine.   • Importing into a Exported object with MEF

    I'm sorry if this question has already been asked 100 times, but I'm really struggling to get it to work. Say I have have three projects. Core.dll Has common interfaces Shell.exe Loads all modules in assembly folder. References Core.dll ModuleA.dll Exports Name, Version of module. References Core.dll Shell.exe has a [Export] that contains an single instance of a third party application that I need to inject into all loaded modules. So far the code that I have in Shell.exe is: static void Main(string[] args) { ThirdPartyApp map = new ThirdPartyApp(); var ad = new AssemblyCatalog(Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly()); var dircatalog = new DirectoryCatalog("."); var a = new AggregateCatalog(dircatalog, ad); // Not to sure what to do here. } class Test { [Export(typeof(ThirdPartyApp))] public ThirdPartyApp Instance { get; set; } [Import(typeof(IModule))] public IModule Module { get; set; } } I need to create a instance of Test, and load Instance with map from the Main method then load the Module from ModuleA.dll that is in the executing directory then [Import] Instance into the loaded module. In ModuleA I have a class like this: [Export(IModule)] class Module : IModule { [Import(ThirdPartyApp)] public ThirdPartyApp Instance {get;set;} } I know I'm half way there I just don't know how to put it all together, mainly with loading up test with a instance of map from Main. Could anyone help me with this.

    Hi, In many projects my team faced problems with 'silent fails' of some important components. There are lot of tasks executed behind the scenes and if somethings fails (either by errors in logic or hardware problems) in most cases responsible person is not notified (or not notified instantly). I know about heavy-weight monitoring tools that could solve some of that problems but there over-complicated and too expensive for our team. I am interested what are your solutions for such problems.

  • Where does Visual Studio stores the default browser to use in debug?

    Hi all, I'm using Firefox as my default browser but when working in Visual Studio, I'd like to fire up IE when I go in debug. We all know that in MVC application, there's no way to choose the default browser unless you add a web form file, right click it, select browse with and then force a browser to be the default one. Great. My simple question is: where does VS stores the browser I just tell him to use (registry? project file? some xml config file?) I'm asking because VS loose this preference several times a month. I'm fed up with making the brower trick again and again. Thanks in advance, Fabian
