  • How to change the text int JLabel under the while or for loop?

    I want to create a simple clock by using java. The code is very simply that i will give an example shown below for(int i=0;i<=60;i++) jLabel11.setText( Integer.toString(i) ); The problem is while I'm running my program the result didn't show the update in sequence. I mean it show only 60 digit immediately. It didn't show the change from 1 to 2 to 3 ... something like this. How can i fix this problem. Thank you in advance.

    Hello, On a Windows box, I need to extract a RAR archive so that individual files in it go into specific directories. I can provide, say, a text file that lists each file and the target directory for it. Then I need help creating a batch file that will actually extract these files into their target locations. Please help. E.g. RAR archive x.rar contains a.a b.b c.c Text file x.txt says a.a C:\foo b.b C:\bar c.c C:\foo Result of running batch file on x.rar and x.txt should be: in C:\foo we have a.a and c.c in C:\bar we have b.b Thanks!

  • What would happen to GC if I run process with priority = RealTime?

    I have a C# app which runs with priority RealTime. It was all fine until I made few hectic changes in past 2 days. Now it runs out of memory in few hours. I am trying to find whether it is a memory leak I created of this is because I consume lot more objects than before and GC simply cant collect them because it runs with same priority. My question is - what could happen to GC when it tries to collect objects in application with RealTime priority (there is also at least one thread running with Highest thread priority)? (P.S. by realtime priority I mean Process.GetCurrentProcess().PriorityClass = ProcessPriorityClass.RealTime) Sorry forgot to tell. GC is in Server mode

  • How can we compute the LAST page with JPA?

    I would like to implement pagination in my Servlet/EJB/JPA-Hibernate project, but I can't figure out how only one page from the query and know the number of pages I must display I use setFirstResult(int first) ; setMaxResults(int max) ; and that's working alright, but how can I know how many pages I will have in total? (Hibernate is my JPA provider, but I would prefer using only JPA if possible) UPDATE: COUNT() seems to be the better/easiest solution; but what can be the cost of SELECT COUNT(*) FROM ... in comparison with executeQuery("SELECT * FROM ...).getListResult().size() ?

  • SQL Server Query with "ELSE:"

    I have various VB6 projects I'm maintaining with some of the queries being passed to the server having "ELSE:" with the colon used in case statements. I'm wondering can someone tell me what the **ll the colon is used for? It causes errors in SQL2005 and greater, but SQL2000 works with no complaints. I'd like to just remove it from the code & re-compile, but I'm afraid it'll break 10 other things in the application.. Thanks in advance...

  • Getting an updated location in Android

    Hi, I'm using the code shown below to get an updated value for location every time a button is clicked. When my activity is resumed I get an update every second, so that when I call getLastKnownLocation I expect to have a location that have been updated in the last second. Is that the correct way to do that? I would expect the onLocationChanged event to be triggered every time I execute a 'geo fix' command (or max after 1s since I request update every 1s), but it's only triggered the first time. Why? Any help/suggestion welcome!     Hi, In our applications we make html documents as reports and exports. But now our customer wants a button that saves that document on their pc. The problem is that the document includes images.   • .net MVC RenderPartial renders information that is not in the model

    Hi, I have a usercontrol that is rendering a list of items. Each row contains a unique id in a hidden field, a text and a delete button. When clicking on the delete button I use jquery ajax to call the controller method DeleteCA (seen below). DeleteCA returns a new list of items that replaces the old list. [HttpPost] public PartialViewResult DeleteCA(CAsViewModel CAs, Guid CAIdToDelete) { int indexToRemove = CAs.CAList.IndexOf(CAs.CAList.Single(m => m.Id == CAIdToDelete)); CAs.CAList.RemoveAt(indexToRemove); return PartialView("EditorTemplates/CAs", CAs); } I have checked that DeleteCA is really removing the correct item. The modified list of CAs passed to PartialView no longer contains the deleted item. Something weird happens when the partial view is rendered. The number of items in the list is reduced but it is always the last element that is removed from the list. The rendered items does not correspond to the items in the list/model sent to PartialView. In the usercontrol file (ascx) I'm using both Model.CAList and lambda expression m = m.CAList. How is it possible for the usercontrol to render stuff that is not in the model sent to PartialView?   • Utility of List<T>.Sort() versus List<T>.OrderBy() for a member of a custom container class

    I've found myself running back through some old 3.5 framework legacy code, and found some points where there are a whole bunch of lists and dictionaries that must be updated in a synchronized fashion. I've determined that I can make this process infinitely easier to both utilize and understand by converging these into custom container classes of new custom classes. There are some points, however, where I came to concerns with organizing the contents of these new container classes by a specific inner property. For example, sorting by the ID number property of one class. As the container classes are primarily based around a generic List object, my first instinct was to write the inner classes with IComparable, and write the CompareTo method that compares the properties. This way, I can just call items.Sort() when I want to invoke the sorting. However, I've been thinking instead about using items = items.OrderBy(Func) instead. This way it is more flexible if I need to sort by any other property. Readability is better as well, since the property used for sorting will be listed in-line with the sort call rather than having to look up the IComparable code. The overall implementation feels cleaner as a result. I don't care for premature or micro optimization, but I like consistency. I find it best to stick with one kind of implementation for as many cases as it is appropriate, and use different implementations where it is necessary. Is it worth it to convert my code to use the LINQ OrderBy instead of using List.Sort? Is it a better practice to stick with the IComparable implementation for these custom containers? Are there any significant mechanical advantages offered by either path that I should be weighing the decision on? Or is their end-functionality equivalent to the point that it just becomes coder's preference?

  • Cannot open Pivot Table source file

    Excel Pivot table error is: Cannot open Pivot Table source file C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\DatabaseName (version1).TableName I’ve seen other questions and answers with the same topic, but I think this is different. I believe I know why the error is occurring: Excel closed unexpectantly and did autosave with (version1) attached to the original file name and saved it in the C:\User etc. above , which is the default recovery location. I opened the recovered file in Excel, saved it as version1 on the server where the original file was located, deleted the original file, and renamed the version1 to the original name. When I go to PivotTable Tools? Options? Change Data Source, it shows only the Table and Range, which are correct, but it does not show the file name or path. The version1 and the renamed file both had the same structure, so the same source table was in both, by they were different files. How do I change the source file from what it is looking for to my renamed file? PS- The (version1) file that it says it is looking for is not in the autosave location, i.e. it is not at the path where it says it is looking in. Thank you for any help Ken

  • Programmatically compose images into one grid in Deep Zoom

    Folks, the problem: there are individual 1MB images that represent a grid of images that should be placed side-by-side with no overlap and then conveted/exported to deepzoom. Image are named by row and column like image_col_row.jpg. The challenge: the total number of images in thousands, which makes it prohibitive for manual composition and exporting in DZC. I tried to first stitch images programmaticall into one huge image, then to use DZC - no luck cause the exporting chocked with the size. if you tried programmaticall compose and export deepzoom, please point me into the right direction.     What's the simplest API to use in scala to perform the following XPath queries on a document? //s:Annotation[@type='attitude']/s:Content/s:Parameter[@role='type' and not(text())] //s:Annotation[s:Content/s:Parameter[@role='id' and not(text())]]/@type The only documentation I can find on Scala's XML libraries has no information on performing complicated real XPath queries. I used to like JDOM for this purpose (in Java), but since JDOM doesn't support generics, it will be painful to work with in Scala. (Other XML libraries for Java have tended to be even more painful in Java, but I admit I don't know the landscape real well.)
