  • I am using jquery ajax using text() but any html written in the XML doesn't render?

    - by Xtian
    So I have Jquery Ajax working real nice, but an issue I am having is in my XML if I want to bold a work or Italicize a sentence, if I do it in the XML using HTML tags it will not show up. I am pretty sure it is due to using the .text(). Any suggestions on a work around for this? $(document).ready(function(){ $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "xml/sites.xml", dataType: "xml", success: function(xml) { $(xml).find('site').each(function(){ $(this).find('desc').each(function(){ var brief = $(this).find('brief').text(); var long = $(this).find('long').text(); var url = $(this).find('url').text(); $('<div class="brief"></div>').html(brief).appendTo('#link_'+id);

  • I have an Xcode static library project, how do I add a test target to it so I can run it there? (Ins

    - by zekel
    I want to be able to test library code in the library target so I don't have to switch over to a separate project to run it. I see how to add a target, but I'm not sure how to set it up to run like the "Command Line Tool" project template does. I tried adding a new "Shell Tool" target, but I don't know how to make it run like one. What build settings do I have to add to that target? What files (main.m?) do I need to start it up?

  • Drupal Studs help me with my form_alter hook ( I am almost there)

    - by user363036
    So I think I am almost there conceptually but need some missing pointers. Objective is to add a few more fields to the normal user registration form, style it a little, then submit it with storing the extra fields in a table. This is what I have so far. Can someone give me the final nudge and get me going. Please help me. Also how do I apply some minor styling like aligning the new form fields ? Thank you so much !!!!!!!!! function module_menu() { $items = array(); $items['school/registration'] = array( 'title' = 'Upgraded Registration Form', 'page callback' ='module_school_register', 'type' = MENU_CALLBACK ); return $items; }//end of the function function module_school_register(){ return drupal_get_form('form_school_register'); }//end of the function function module_school_form_alter(&$form, $form_state, $form_id) { dsm($form_id); if ($form_id == 'user_registration_form') { // modify the "#submit" form property by prepending another submit handler array $form['#submit'] = array_merge( array('_module_registration_submit' = array()), $form['#submit'] ); } } function _module_registration_submit($form_id, $form_values) { // store extra data in different table } function module_registration_validate($form, &$form_state) { $error=0; //Validation stuff here, set $error to true if something went wrong, or however u want to do this. Completely up to u in how u set errors. if ($error) { form_set_error('new_field_name', 'AHH SOMETHING WRONG!'); } }

  • .NET RichTextBox: unable to change Rtf property.

    - by Dave
    Hey guys, Perhaps I'm missing something real simple here, but I've been struggling to change the RTF property of my RichTextBox in order to apply some color coding to my text. Probably the most straight-forward example of the problem I'm having is setting the Rtf property to include a color table in its header. The default RTF string returned by the Rtf property: {\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deflang1033{\fonttbl{\f0\fnil\fcharset0 Microsoft Sans Serif;}}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\f0\fs17\par} And the new RTF string I'd like to set with my color table: {\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deflang1033{\fonttbl{\f0\fnil\fcharset0 Microsoft Sans Serif;}{\colortbl;\red128\green0\blue0;\red0\green128\blue0;\red0\green0\blue255;}}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\f0\fs17\par} And I set this using: RichTextBox richTextBox = new RichTextBox(); richTextBox.Rtf = rtfStr; // My new RTF string, as seen above. However, via debugger, it can be observed the that Rtf property stubbornly refuses to change; no exceptions are thrown, it just refuses to change. Same issue happens when I string.Replace() words to include RTF color tags around them. I've also tried turning off any ReadOnly properties on the text box. Any suggestions would be most helpful, thanks! Dave

  • CakePHP delete() function is not working

    - by Logic Artist
    Hello, Im just cracking open cakePHP (v1.3.2). I set it up on my local wamp server, seems to work fine except the delete() function doesn't work. I'm following their blog tutorial exactly, its as simple as it can be so I don't understand why its not working. Heres the function in my PostsController class: function delete($id = NULL) { $this->Post->delete($id); $this->Session->setFlash('The post with id: '.$id.' has been deleted.'); $this->redirect(array('action'=>'index')); } The "Delete" link's url looks like http://localhost/posts/delete/id:1 (where the id number matches the particular post, obviously). It redirects and sets the flash message, however there is no number where $id should be in the message, and the post isn't deleted. It seems the proper id is passed through the url, but I don't think it is getting into the function. I dont get it. Any ideas???

  • "A generic error occurred in GDI+" error while showing uploaded images

    - by Prasad
    i am using the following code to show the image that has been saved in my database from my asp.net mvc(C#) application:. public ActionResult GetSiteHeaderLogo() { SiteHeader _siteHeader = new SiteHeader(); Image imgImage = null; long userId = Utility.GetUserIdFromSession(); if (userId > 0) { _siteHeader = this.siteBLL.GetSiteHeaderLogo(userId); if (_siteHeader.Logo != null && _siteHeader.Logo.Length > 0) { byte[] _imageBytes = _siteHeader.Logo; if (_imageBytes != null) { using (System.IO.MemoryStream imageStream = new System.IO.MemoryStream(_imageBytes)) { imgImage = Image.FromStream(imageStream); } } string sFileExtension = _siteHeader.FileName.Substring(_siteHeader.FileName.IndexOf('.') + 1, _siteHeader.FileName.Length - (_siteHeader.FileName.IndexOf('.') + 1)); Response.ContentType = Utility.GetContentTypeByExtension(sFileExtension.ToLower()); Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache); Response.BufferOutput = false; if (imgImage != null) { ImageFormat _imageFormat = Utility.GetImageFormat(sFileExtension.ToLower()); imgImage.Save(Response.OutputStream, _imageFormat); imgImage.Dispose(); } } } return new EmptyResult(); } It works fine when i upload original image. But when i upload any downloaded images, it throws the following error: System.Runtime.InteropServices.ExternalException: A generic error occurred in GDI+. Ex: When i upload the original image, it shows as logo in my site and i downloaded that logo from the site and when i re-upload the same downloaded image, it throws the above error. It seems very weird to me and not able to find why its happening. Any ideas on this?

  • Is `xargs -t` output stderr or stdout, and can you control it?

    - by Roy Rico
    say i have a directory with hi.txt and blah.txt and i execute the following command on a linux-ish command line ls *.* | xargs -t -i{} echo {} the output you will see is echo blah.txt blah.txt echo hi.txt hi.txt i'd like to redirect the stderr output (say 'echo blah.txt' fails...), leaving only the output from the xargs -t command written to std out, but it looks as if it's stderr as well. ls *.* | xargs -t -i{} echo {} 2> /dev/null Is there a way to control it, to make it output to stdout?

  • Problem processing large data using Applet-Servlet communication

    - by Marquinio
    Hi everyone. I have an Applet that makes a request to a Servlet. On the servlet it's using the PrintWriter to write the response back to Applet: out.println("Field1|Field2|Field3|Field4|Field5......|Field10"); There are about 15000 records, so the out.println() gets executed about 15000 times. Problem is that when the Applet gets the response from Servlet it takes about 15 minutes to process the records. I placed System.out.println's and processing is paused at around 5000, then after 15 minutes it continues processing and then its done. Has anyone faced a similar problem? The servlet takes about 2 seconds to execute. So seems that the browser/Applet is too slow to process the records. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

    Hey, I made several tables and relationships using SQL server manager. I then imported them to visual studio and it all appeared in the correct form, except one of the relationships did not appear. I have checked everything I could think of and it is the exact same as the other relationships. If you know anything I can check, I would appreciate it. Thanks I am using the entity framework, visual studio 2010.

  • where is everything in django admin?

    - by FurtiveFelon
    Hi all, I would like to figure out where everything is in django admin. Since i am currently trying to modify the behavior rather heavily right now, so perhaps a reference would be helpful. For example, where is ModelAdmin located, i cannot find it anywhere in C:\Python26\Lib\site-packages\django\contrib\admin. I need that because i would like to look at how it is implemented so that i can override with confidence. I need to do that in part because of this page: http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/ref/contrib/admin/#modeladmin-methods, for example, i would like to override ModelAdmin.add_view, but i can't find the original source for that. As well as i would like to see the url routing file for admin, so i can easily figure out which url corresponding to which template etc. Thanks a lot for any pointers!

  • .NET 2.0 vs .NET 4.0 loading error

    - by David Rutten
    My class library is compiled against .NET 2.0 and works just fine whenever I try to load it as a plugin under the 2.0 runtime. • What's a clean way to have the server return a JavaScript function which would then be invoked?

    - by Khnle
    My application is architected as a host of plug-ins that have not yet been written. There's a long reason for this, but with each new year, the business logic will be different and we don't know what it will be like (Think of TurboTax if that helps). The plug-ins consist of both server and client components. The server components deals with business logic and persisting the data into database tables which will be created at a later time as well. The JavaScript manipulates the DOM for the browsers to render afterward. Each plugin lives in a separate assembly, so that they won't disturb the main application, i.e., we don't want to recompile the main application. Long story short, I am looking for a way to return JavaScript functions to the client from an Ajax get request, and execute these JavaScript functions (which are just returned). Invoking a function in Javascript is easy. The hard part is how to organize or structure so that I won't have to deal with maintenance problem. So concat using StringBuilder to end up with JavaScript code as a result of calling toString() from the string builder object is out of the question. I want to have no difference between writing JavaScript codes normally and writing Javascript codes for this dynamic purpose. An alternative is to manipulate the DOM on the server side, but I doubt that it would be as elegantly as using jQuery on the client side. I am open for a C# library that supports chainable calls like jQuery that also manipulates the DOM too. Do you have any idea or is it too much to ask or are you too confused? Edit1: The point is to avoid recompiling, hence the plug-ins architecture. In some other parts of the program, I already use the concept of dynamically loading Javascript files. That works fine. What I am looking here is somewhere in the middle of the program when an Ajax request is sent to the server. Edit 2: To illustrate my question: Normally, you would see the following code. An Ajax request is sent to the server, a JSON result is returned to the client which then uses jQuery to manipulate the DOM (creating tag and adding to the container in this case). $.ajax({ type: 'get', url: someUrl, data: {'': ''}, success: function(data) { var ul = $('<ul>').appendTo(container); var decoded = $.parseJSON(data); $.each(decoded, function(i, e) { var li = $('<li>').text(e.FIELD1 + ',' + e.FIELD2 + ',' + e.FIELD3); ul.append(li); }); } }); The above is extremely simple. But next year, what the server returns is totally different and how the data to be rendered would also be different. In a way, this is what I want: var container = $('#some-existing-element-on-the-page'); $.ajax({ type: 'get', url: someUrl, data: {'': ''}, success: function(data) { var decoded = $.parseJSON(data); var fx = decoded.fx; var data = decode.data; //fx is the dynamic function that create the DOM from the data and append to the existing container fx(container, data); } }); I don't need to know, at this time what data would be like, but in the future I will, and I can then write fx accordingly.

  • Updating the datalist in a RadComboBox

    - by jphenow
    So I'm just struggling with a lot of little things in the web app so I'm checking up with all kinds of stuff to make sure i'm not breaking it cause of stupid problems. At some point in my web app (trying to keep it mostly Asynchronous) I have to update the list in my RadComboBox because something was added. Do I just need to call RadComboBox.DataBind() again? Since I don't explicitly use its datasource(I do it in the manual insert using a string fashion) object to insert my new record do I need to tell that to update? The list just doesn't seem to update when i just call databind so I feel like i need to have the datasource recheck for entries or SOMETHING Thanks

  • Windows Service Start-Up Error 1069

    - by Gavin
    Hello, I am installing a new windows service coded in C# on a server. I installed the service fine on the server, but once i manually start up the service on a server, with the same login credentials that our other services use, i get the fatal error message notification: "Could not start the %service name% on Local Computer. Error 1069: The Service did not start due to a logon failure." I looked in the event log and i got a 7038 and 7000 event id error in that order. 7038 event id message: "The %service name% service was unable to log on as %login% with the currently configured password due to the following error: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. To ensure that the service is configured properly, use the Services snap-in in Microsoft Management Console (MMC)." 7000 event id message: "The %service name% service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not start due to a logon failure. " I have other services that are using the same exact login account and they work fine. Is there something simple I could be missing? Thanks
