  • INSERT 0..n records into table 'A' based on content of table 'B' in MySql 5

    Using MySql 5, I have a task where I need to update one table based on the contents of another table. For example, I need to add 'A1' to table 'A' if table 'B' contains 'B1'. I need to add 'A2a' and 'A2b' to table 'A' if table 'B' contains 'B2', etc.. In our case, the value in table 'B' we're interested is an enum. Right now I have a stored procedure containing a series of statements like: INSERT INTO A SELECT 'A1' FROM B WHERE B.Value = 'B1'; --Repeat for 'B2' -> 'A2a'; 'B2' -> 'A2b'; 'B3' -> 'A3', etc... Is there a nicer more DRY way of accomplishing this? Edit: There may be values in table 'B' that have no equivalent value for table 'A'.

  • merging in python

    Hi all I have the following 4 arrays ( grouped in 2 groups ) that I would like to merge in ascending order by the keys array. I can use also dictionaries as structure if it is easier. Has python any command or something to make this quickly possible?   • Copy machine security issues.

    I am involved on a project to talk to communities about the risks of posting online content is social networks. But this time I was really impressed how far security concerns can go. This video from CBS news talks about security risks related to corporate fax/printers and scanners. It was very clear that when they got the machines they selected the machines by previous owner and they were not random machines, but still, I will never scan from my company machine again.     I have a multidimensional array in python like: arr = [['foo', 1], ['bar',2]] Now, if I want to print out everything in the array, I could do: print(arr[:][:]) Or I could also just do print(arr). However, If I only wanted to print out the first element of each box (for arr, that would be 'foo', 'bar'), I would imagine I would do something like: print(arr[:][0]) however, that just prints out the first data blog (['foo', 1]), also, I tried reversing it (just in case): print(arr[0][:]) and I got the same thing. So, is there anyway that I can get it to print the first element in each tuple (other than: for tuple in arr: print(tuple[0]) )? Thanks.

  • Weird background offset of UIToolbar when in formSheet.

    As you can see in the pic, the buttons from the toolbar on the right align perfectly with the segmented control on the left. They are displayed on the navigation bar. For some reason though, the background of the toolbar seems to be offset 1px to the bottom. What is especially weird, is this exact same view controller, in fullScreen or even pageSheet, displays everything properly. Segmented control is being allocated: UISegmentedControl* segmentControl = [[UISegmentedControl alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0,0,300,30)]; Toolbar is being allocated: UIToolbar* toolbar = [[UIToolbar alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 100,44)]; I've spent hours trying to fix this, it's driving me crazy.

    Does anyone know of a good way to encrypt and decrypt strings using VB6 to ensure sensitive data is secure? Also, is there an encryption method that can be shared between VB6 and .NET? Example: The encrypted string will be written to a database using a VB6 application, but the value also need to be read an decrypted in a c# .net application using the .net framework if possible. Thanks!

  • Restoring Sharepoint content database

    Hi, My WSS_Content database had got corrupt. And my pc was infected by virus. I had no backup of my WSS_Content database. So, I copied the corrupt database to a separete disk, formatted and reinstalled Sharepoint, with SQL Server 2005 as before (I'm using sharepoint 2007 ). I used Sytools Sharepoint Recovery tool, that i found on the net, which helped me restore my corrupt WSS_Content database. Now i want to set this content database as my "The content database" for my newly installed sharepoint. I tried the steps that i found in the link :- http://www.stationcomputing.com/scblogspace/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=40 I get stuck at step 3. Can anybody help me. I am really in a big mess.   • Mimicking a HBox / VBox with CSS

    I'm an old school tables guy, and am pretty baffled when it comes to modern HTML. I'm trying to something as simple as vertical / horizontal layouts (i.e. Flex's hbox/vbox), but am having major difficulty replicating them. An old table would look something like this for an HBox: <table width="100%" height="100"> <tr valign="middle"> <td nowrap style="background-color:#CCC">I am text on grey</td> <td width="50%" valign="top">displays top</td> <td width="50%" align="right">Autosize Fill (displays bottom right)</td> </tr> </table> Now I'm trying to do this with div's, but to no avail. When using display:inline, I cannot set a percentage width -- it only takes explicit widths. When using float:left, settings 100% percentage width causes it to really be 100% and pushes the next div down.     I need to use a regex to pull a value out a url domain that will exclude everything but the host (ex: wordpress) and domain type (ex .com). The urls are dynamic and contain 2-3 values for each result (www.example.com or example.org).   • Deselecting a form input and waiting for a function before submitting

    I have a form with an input field where a user enters a unique identifier. I then have some jQuery code that upon the user moving away from the input field (blur) goes out and fetches details about the part and populates some fields on the page. The problem is if the user clicks the submit button before moving out of the input field the jQuery code never has a chance to load in the data and populate the necessary fields. Whats the best way to go about doing this? I thought about maybe setting the focus to body and then having an infinite loop that keeps checking the page until all fields that should be filled in have been filled in but I feel like some sort of event based solution would be better than unpredictable infinite loops. Any ideas?

  • VC++ 2010 wants to link boost libararies i didn't even specify

    Hi there, I'm trying to build my application with MSVC 2010 instead of GCC. With GCC everything works fine. My app uses boost_system and boost_thread libraries. I built boost with VC2010 in "system" layout, that means the libraries are named just libboost_system.lib (and not libboost_system_compiler_threading_version_wtf_snafu.lib) The libs reside in C:\Boost\lib, the Makefile specifies LFLAGS = /NOLOGO /INCREMENTAL:NO /SUBSYSTEM:CONSOLE LIBS = /LIBPATH:C:/Boost/lib libboost_system.lib libboost_thread.lib Ws2_32.lib when invoking nmake it compiles, but when trying to link it quits with LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'libboost_date_time-vc100-mt-1_43.lib I mean seriously, WTF? I told it to link libboost_systen.lib and libboost_thread.lib how come it tries to link libboost_data_time and why does it assume I built the libs in "tagged" layout?? How can I stop MSVC trying to be smart and guess what I might have wanted to link? Thanks, Philipp

  • MySQL encoding problem

    I use Java and JDBC to save japanese characters and it works perfectly on my local MySQL. But when I tried doing the same thing on my web hotels MySQL i get ????? instead of japanese characters. I have made the exact same tables and use exact same code. The only difference I have found is SHOW VARIABLES LIKE 'CHAR%' character_set_client utf8 character_set_connection utf8 character_set_database latin1 character_set_filesystem binary character_set_results utf8 character_set_server latin1 character_set_system utf8 character_sets_dir /s/usr-local/share/mysql/charsets/ character_set_datbase is set to latin1. But I can't change it! Any tips?
