• grub-efi refuses to chainload Windows 8.1

  I have installed LMDE (with grub in MBR) after I installed Windows 8.1. I then installed the grub-efi package and added the custom Windows options: #!/bin/sh exec tail -n +3 $0 menuentry "Windows" { search --fs-uuid --no-floppy --set=root A89A-7F4C chainloader (${root})/EFI/Boot/bkpbootx64.efi } menuentry "Windows (backup bootloader)" { search --fs-uuid --no-floppy --set=root A89A-7F4C chainloader (${root})/EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bkpbootmgfw.efi } These are basically a leftover from my older Ubuntu setup. However, grub is refusing to load them, complaining about the invalid signature. What do I do now?

• Using Excel VBA to send emails. Problem with attachments becoming embedded by accident.

  Hi, I am having an issue with an Excel macro I wrote that is used by several users within my company. It is used to send numerous emails daily with attachments that are also Excel workbooks. The issue is that sometimes, instead of the file simply being attached as it should be, it becomes an embedded object. This embedded object is openable by users on the email within the company (after clicking through the "YOu are about to activate an embedded object that may contain viruses or be otherwise harmful to your computer. It is important to be certain that it is from a trustworthy source. Do you want to continue?"), but those outside of the company do not see it at all. The email appears to have no attachment at all. Curiously, this appears to happen randomly, and only on some computers. So if the list has 15 email lists and attachments, it seems to happen randomly to anywhere between 0 and 15 of the emails. To be clear, my objective is to send emails with regular attachments. Running Excel 2003, Outlook 2003, and Windows XP. See code below. Please help! Code is URL feedUrl = new URL("http://planet.rubyonrails.ru/xml/rss"); SyndFeedInput input = new SyndFeedInput(); SyndFeed feed = input.build(new XmlReader(feedUrl)); You can check that http://planet.rubyonrails.ru/xml/rss is valid URL and the page is shown in browser.   RoR application can generate URL such as /post/10. But now I want to create a site, which works with URI-fragments like gmail. For example gmail uses the following URLs https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#sent https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#label/books I need to generate URL such as /#/post/10, where controller = "post", action = "show", id = "10". Of course it will be good to use standard url-helpers.

• How to open associated files in the same instance of an application

  I want to open files, which are doubleclicked in Explorer, in the same instance of my .Net application, e.g. in a new tab. How can I do this? For now each file starts new instance of my application. Many programs can open files in the same instance, for example, Opera and Notepad++, so there is an easy way for sure.

• Is there a FAST way to export and install an app on my phone, while signing it with my own keystore?

  So, I've downloaded my own application from the market and installed it on my phone. Now, I am trying to install a temporary new version from Eclipse, but here is the message I get: Re-installation failed due to different application signatures. You must perform a full uninstall of the application. WARNING: This will remove the application data! Please execute 'adb uninstall com.applicationName' in a shell. Launch canceled! Now, I really really don't want to uninstall the application, because I will lose all my data. One solution I found is to Export my application, creating new .apk, and then install it via HTC Sync (probably a different program based on what phone you have). The problem is this takes a long time to do, since I need to enter the password for the keystore each time and then wait for HTC Sync. It's a pain in the ass! So the question is: Is there a way to make Eclipse automatically use my keystore to sign the application (quickly and automatically)? Or perhaps to replace debug keystore with my own? Or perhaps just tell it to remember the password, so I don't have to enter it every time...? Or some other way to solve this problem?

Running sudo apt-build build-source lirc then gave me Some error occured building package which is not really informative. I have successfully built patched lirc from source but now I would like to get a deb package. Where can I look for this 'some errors' in detail? Thank you, Alexei
