  • Anyone love/hate the PowerConnect line of switches from Dell?

    I am looking at replacing some unmanaged 16 port store bought GB switches and wanted to go with Cisco but it may be cost prohibitive. Instead I am looking at ProCurve or Dell's PowerConnect line up. I am looking for SNMP, Management, VLANs, and SFLOW would icing on the switch cupcake. I would get the 6224 or the 6248 and then maybe add the RPS-600 to it for redundant power. I think the RPS-600 supports multiple switches. Rackspace is also a little challenge so I am trying to do it with as little Rack Units as possible. Ideally I would go with two 6224's or a single 6248 and then do two VLANs. Thanks for any feedback.   • Accessing internal server eg 192.168.10.10 without using remote desktop

    Hi there My boss has an intranet he wants his employees to gain access to from the WWW. Theres a sharepoint server running on 192.168.10.10 and SBS can be seen from a website 81.244.232.22 (some numbers like this). When you access, theres a default internal sharepoint site "companyweb" but we dont want to use that we want the main sharepoint site which has all the business on it. is this possible? Currently we have to connect to a computer, chose the server and then get in that way. Any ideas?

    Hi there Was wondering if its possible to connect to an internal server on the domain via WWW? The reason for this is that the default sharepoint server you see when you get into the SBS isnt the right one - we want the server on another ip. I would have thought it cant be done - you have to use directx or remote desktopping....

  • Buying a certificate - what to spend and where

    Hi there My boss wants to buy a certificate for his SBS so external connection can be made. they access on an IP number. What should he spend on the certificate? Where should he buy from? Verisign seems like overkill as its not an ecommerce site, just needs some security. Ive seen some cheap ones at $20 / yr - are there any problems with getting cheap certificates?

  • connecting to internal webserver on specific port

    Hello, We have the BT broadband forwarding on to an internal machine with an IIS web server running. Thats fine, it goes to the sharepoint app, so the outside world can see this app. Thing is we need another app running (a MVC ASP.Net app) and I have set it to :8080. Internally I can get to it fine, but not when I type the IP number. eg. 80.100.232.129:8080 is this something I need to set on the broadband router or something with SBS or somewhere else? thanks in advance

  • Extracting [] elements from form collection - mvc - should use icollection but have mix of types

    hi there. have looked at Phil Haacks project on books at http://haacked.com/archive/2008/10/23/model-binding-to-a-list.aspx which has been useful, but I have a mix of data types. I use a modelview so that i can have a mix of objects, in this case: Order (ie order.id, order.date etc), Customer, SoilSamplingOrder and a list of SoilSamplingSubJobs which is like this [0].id, [0].field, [1].id, [1].field etc Perhaps I should be using ICollection instead of List? I had problems getting UpdateModel to work so I used an extract from collection method. the first 4 method calls : orderRepository.FindOrder(id); etc give the model the original to be edited. but after this point i'm a little lost in how to update the subjobs. I hope i have delineated enough to make sense of the problem.   • get and set for class in model - MVC 2 asp.net

    Hi there, I want to improve the program so it has a proper constructor but also works with the models environment of MVC. I currently have: public void recordDocument(int order_id, string filename, string physical_path, string slug, int bytes) { ArchiveDocument doc = new ArchiveDocument(); doc.order_id = order_id; doc.filename = filename; doc.physical_path = physical_path; doc.slug = slug; doc.bytes = bytes; db.ArchiveDocuments.InsertOnSubmit(doc); } This obviously should be a constructor and should change to the leaner: public void recordDocument(ArchiveDocument doc) { db.ArchiveDocuments.InsertOnSubmit(doc); } with a get & set somewhere else - not sure of the syntax - do I create a partial class? so: creating in the somewhere repository - ArchiveDocument doc = new ArchiveDocument(order_id, idTaggedFilename, physical_path, slug, bytes); and then: namespace ordering.Models { public partial class ArchiveDocument { int order_id, string filename, string physical_path, string slug, int bytes; public archiveDocument(int order_id, string filename, string physical_path, string slug, int bytes){ this.order_id = order_id; etc } } How should I alter the code?

    hi, I have a table of orders. the status is on the soilorders which is joined to the orders. I only want to return orders where the joined soilorder does not have status "Removed".
