• Sendmail delivering locally instead of to MTA in MX record

  Ok, so I've got a box named websrv1.mydomain.com. It's a web server running ubuntu, apache2, sendmail, etc. My email is outsourced to a third party. So in my DNS I've got MX set to mx.thirdparty.net. I've no reason to accept incoming mail on my web server, every email should be sent to the third party. This works correctly accept with sending mail from the webserver (aka via cron or console). So from my web server, if I send an email to [email protected], it just disappears. No errors, nothing in dead.letter, nothing. I can send to any other address with no issues. If I send to [email protected] it's delivered locally which is fine. 1) Doing an nslookup shows the mx record is correct. 2) Running /mx mydomain.com from sendmail -bt returns the correct result. 3) Running sendmail -bv [email protected] returns: sudo sendmail -bv [email protected] [email protected]... deliverable: mailer esmtp, host mydomain.com., user [email protected] 4) Running 3,0 [email protected], returns: 3,0 [email protected] canonify input: me @ mydomain . com Canonify2 input: me Canonify2 returns: me canonify returns: me parse input: me Parse0 input: me Parse0 returns: me Parse1 input: me MailerToTriple input: me MailerToTriple returns: me Parse1 returns: $# esmtp $@ mydomain . com . $: me parse returns: $# esmtp $@ mydomain . com . $: me So I'm at a loss. Sendmail seems to see the mx record, but it's not using it.

• ServerName not working in Apache2 and Ubuntu

  Setting up a dev LAMP server and I wish to allow dynamic subdomains, aka ted.servername.com, bob.servername.com. Here's my sites-active file <VirtualHost *:80> # Admin Email, Server Name, Aliases ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName happyslice.net ServerAlias *.happyslice.net # Index file and Document Root DirectoryIndex index.html DocumentRoot /home/sysadmin/public_html/happyslice.net/public # Custom Log file locations LogLevel warn ErrorLog /home/sysadmin/public_html/happyslice.net/log/error.log CustomLog /home/sysadmin/public_html/happyslice.net/log/access.log combined And here's the output from sudo apache2ctl -S VirtualHost configuration: wildcard NameVirtualHosts and default servers: *:80 is a NameVirtualHost default server happyslice.net (/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default:1) port 80 namevhost happyslice.net (/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default:1) port 80 namevhost happyslice.net (/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/happyslice.net:5) Syntax OK The server hostname is srv.happyslice.net. As you can see from apache2ctl when I use happyslice.net I get the default virtual host, when I use a subdomain, I get the happyslice.net host. So the later is working how I want, but the main url does not. I've tried all kinds of variations here, but it appears that ServerName just isn't being tied to the correct location. Thoughts? I'm stumped. FYI, I'm running Apache2.1 and Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

• Undefined Results in jQuery Autocomplete

  So I've got the latest versions of jQuery and UI running. I'm using the basic autocomplete invocation and returning valid JSON (validated via JSONLint). $("input#cust_id").autocomplete({ source: yoda.app.base + "/assets/cfc/util/autocomplete.cfc?method=cust", minLength: 2, select: function(event, ui) { log(ui.item ? ("Selected: " + ui.item.value + " aka " + ui.item.id) : "Nothing selected, input was " + this.value); } }); Both the value and label elements of the returned array show up in the list as undefined. I can watch the results returned via Firebug and the JSON is correct there as well. Also, while the list only says "undefined" it does say that the same number of times as records returned in JSON. [{"VALUE":"custid1","LABEL":"My Customer Name 1"},{"VALUE":"custname2","LABEL":"My customer name 2"}]

• Trouble Shoot JavaScript Function in IE

  So this function works fine in geko and webkit browsers, but not IE7. I've busted my brain trying to spot the issue. Anything stick out for you? Basic premise is you pass in a data object (in this case a response from jQuery's $.getJSON) we check for a response code, set the notification's class, append a layer and show it to the user.
